Starship Troopers.

*KKhhht- SIR! this Is Raynor here! We Cant hold this flank Anylonger! i Need Napalm Suit Backup and i need it NOW! we Cant hold off for much longer before we're forced to retreat! we have a brain bug over here! Repeat! we have a brain bug over here! But we cant get near it! Request immidiate Napalm Bombs Here sir!! OMG Theyre over the wall....-Khhhhhht* :O

"Alpha squad, this is Thema squad, Come in Razak"
"This is Alpha squad. Out ETA; 20 Minutes"
"Cansel that Jean, We've spotted a brain off our eastern flank. Northern routs are blocked so circle around."
"Roger THema squad. Good luck Michael."
At that time however, much needed reinforcements from Tango squad arrived. Samsun's marauders set up another firewall, Giving us at least a few minutes to reorganise. "Malone, Report!"
"Sir, I recovered a half tank flame thrower, 3 rounds of Ammo, and the marauders fuel cell."
"Good. Private Zelin!"
"Sir?"
"Zelin, Take the flamethrower and fuel cell from Malone, and Make it into a Bomb! Have Raynor help you!"
"But..."
"No buts! I don't care what your status is. Raynor is a master of explosives. He will instruct you how to procede. Do you get me?"
"Sir, yes sir"
Samsun could be heard barking out orders to his troops. Some of them were passing out clips to us. When everyone was all stocked up, Dima radio'd in "Sir, the bomb is ready"
"How powerfull do you expect the explosion to be?"
"Sir, if we load one of VIxen's remaining nukes, Hiroshima. Two...."
"Good, Hold out untill I give the word!"
Suddenly, the flames began dying down. Unanymously, Samsun and Wolff said "Ready your weapons!" The fires died down, and the bugs came pooring through...

the swarms...

Vixen watched as the swarm of bugs poured through. Her eyes were cold as they drew nearer. Suddenly all hell broke loose as everybody started firing what weapons they had at once. Vixen made every shot count. Ammo was running extremely low, she hoped to God they'd get the brain so they could get out of here with at least a few of the team members still in tact.

She watched as another of the original blue team went down. The bug ripping the guy's head off. Her eyes flickered briefly before she send a shot into the bug's eye. "Bug brains anyone?" She asked more to herself than to anyone in particular.

Finally Raynor and Zelin had put together the makings of an explosive with the parts she had salvaged from Derek's suit. "Malone... get your nukes ready, make the shot count soldier!"
"Yes Sir!" Vixen's voice ever calm responded.

HeavyArms:I Quickly went to work on the bomb
"Put this wire there.."
this is a little tough
"Hold that switch..."
I think i can do this.
"There! timer is set for 5 minutes! report to the Leuitennent! We need to get at least 20 miles away from this thing or we all become melted metal!!"

Dima stood up and began running backwards and firing. He splattered the bugs like putty and let them feast on pure heat and bullets. "Die, scum, die", he screamed, lunching the heat into one of the new ones, melting off it's head in a firey explosion. Suddenly the timer in his hand began to beep." Sir, we are going to have a premature explosion, we need to get everyone out of the vicinity now!", as the timer beeped faster and faster.

Alex stood next to Wolff as the fighting wore down. SHE suddenly grabbed his arm. pain shot though her head.
She could hear them. ALL of them. The bugs, the soilders, HIM. Him she hated more then anything. HIm was always nagging her.
Wolff looked at her." New..bug.." she stammered out."Near...here...first...wave..ore...coming." The pain continued. Alex threw u her mental shields. Something wasn't right here. she didn't know what it was. The brain was moving. And not in a patern. It was as if...something was scaring the brainbug.

Dima sent his transmission to all the troopers of every squad,"I just told the lieu, but we are undoubtedly having a premature explosion, I time it at 30 seconds. Get running, the place is about to blow. I repeat, you have 30 seconds once this transmission is over. Get out of here!" he screamed at his transmitter. He quickly began to run opposite of the bomb sight.

The flame thrower growled with enthusiasm. The bugs were dropping faster than... well, bugs.
"COME ON YOU SONS OF BITCHES, ANYONE ELSE WANT A SHOT OF RAID!!!!!" Derek turned the flame thrower off, watching the bugs started surrounding him. A tingle went up his spine, the adrenaline rushing to his head. He could feel it.
Then, the flame thrower shot off, killing the closest ones first. Derek swung around, burning anything that was remotely close, he was just lucky there were no soldiers around.
Derek turned the flame thrower off again, playing this cat and mouse game was more effective than just burning the bugs, this way, he killed more, and they came to him he didn't have to go to them.
A bug, jumped onto the marauder, Garret looked up and smiled at it. He stuck the grenade right under the bugs abdoman.
It shot off, 20 feet away, Derek laughed as he saw it hadn't exploded.
The bug landed on a pile of it's kind, and a quick explosion quickly filled a hole, killing dozens of the little suckers in the process.
Derek laughed, as he turned the flame thrower on again, today was a good day to be alive.
The radio transmission came into his suit. They needed to move back, a frown entered his face, so soon, they were just warming up.
Derek reset the flame thrower, using the automatic guns to bring him back. He moved as fast as he could, but marauders were notorious for being weapon vehicles not speed vehicles.
Derek made his way slowly back, leaving a trail of bug carcasses in his wake.
Yes, today was a good day to be alive.

Dima continued running backwards until finally he fell off a cliff."Thank God, there's Zero-G. Hey, wait a minute. Guys, go jump off cliffs", he said into the transmitter.

"Dima can you stop the countdown?"
"No sir"
"Damn, I said don't set it UNTILL I gave the order. Alpha squad, what's your status?"
1 MINUTE LEFT
"THis is alpha squad. The brain is aboard the boat. we will reach your position in 12 seconds."
"Raynor, Abandon the marauder Now. Tango squad marauders, do the same. We've got half a minute and speed is essential!"
45 SECONDS
The boat landed hard, the doors opened imedietly. "Everyone, too the boat! Abandon your weapons! Go Go Go!"
Everyone broke down and ran. All three marauders were left standing Idle as their occupants ran for the boat. 2 of the streetcats were melted by a tank bug an another was carried away by a hopper. Besides that, everyone got onboard, and the boat started to take off.
30 Seconds.
The rouchnecks were allready in the boat helping people in by litterally throwing them ontop of eachother. A boat is meant to hold one squad, not 3, and with powersuits on it was quite a cramp. One trooper could be heard saying "Carmen, Take off!" THe boat shook a little then began rise. The gravity made it a little slow, but it rose faster by the second.
10 SECONDS
The boat flew away from earths moon. the speed made everyone Pile in the back of the boat, and the powersuits the only thing keeping the ones on the bottom from being crushed. The vally forge appeared in the window as all troopers gave out a cheer then suddenly...
Whaphfft--------------BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,....
Every bug on the surface vaporized in a second. Every tunnel underneth the surface collapsed. The entire face of the moon was reconfigured and it was a wonder that it wasn't pulled out of alignment. A great cheer went up in the boat as it docked, but Wolff was scowling, scowling at Dima.

Vixen felt another elbow jab her in the ribs. God this was a tight squeeze. She shoved in that general direction trying to get herself some room. She was starting to freak out a little. She hated close encounters like this... claustrophobic... just a tad... and not really a people person so she wasn't having a very good time of it. She heard the cheers as the explosions went off. At least the bugs were dead she thought.

She managed to sit up. She glanced over at the Lt... he looked really pissed. She almost smiled. Well, whoever was on the receiving end of his anger... she felt for them. She glanced over at the guy they called Derek. He looked ecstatic. Hot-shot... she surmised. Thrilled at being in action. Her gaze found Alex's. Vixen frowned. She was uneasy about those mind-readers. She felt so... exposed... she was an intensely private person. It went against every nerve in her that someone could so easily read her thoughts.

She was damn tired though, but the adrenaline was still thrumming through her. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. She wondered if any of the others were going out on the town... she was private... but she wasn't a nun... she needed to get out tonight.

The boat docked and troopers were disentangled. Razak and Samsun sent their troops to the designated sleeping quarters of the Vally Forge so they can eat up and rest. Wolff however kept his unit back to give each a private word. Most of them were compliments. "Good sniping private malone. Way to handle a marauder private sanders. Keep up the good work Corporal raynor." Last, when everyone else was dismissed, Wolff stood eyeing Dima.
"Private, My order was to Wait untill I told you to arm that bomb. A simple rock ledge wasn't going to protect you from a nuclier blast! your powersuit isn't designed to withstand 30,000 degree temperatures! Valuable, Expencive pieces of Sicon equipment was left on that moon to be vaped and many brave troopers have no corpses to be bueried. In all likelyhood, you will be courtmarshled and given capitol punishment. Untill the higher officers decide your fate, you will spend time in the brig, no food water 0r human contact. We don't live in a democracy, and there is no corruption in the system, so you have no way out. If you do manage to survive this ordeal you will never become anything more than a civilian. Now get out of my sight!"
"Sir, i'm sorry sir." with that, Dima left. a guard showed up and led Dima to the brig in the aft of the ship.

OOC: Why is everyone always pissed at me. First I'm in limbo, no I'm in the brig. Goddamnit!

Derek held his head up. This was a proud day to fight, he felt cockier than ever. Yet, somehow that saddened him.
He didn't really know what kind of person he might become if he felt that killing bugs was all there was to life. Derek didn't know why he joined in the first place, there was no reason, he had a great life that he just gave up, and for what, to be a citizen?
Derek shook these ideas from his mind. It wasn't a time to colaberate, it was a time to party. Derek didn't feel like he was in the party mood though.
"Hey, whatcha doing?" Sydney asked, looking in through the door.
Derek sat on his bed, head in his arms, "Just thinking about today."
"Come on, you are going to miss out on the fun, and there is a dance coming up soon. You have all the time to think later..."
she started moving her hips,
"tonight we mombo."
Derek laughed, Sydney could always make him laugh, he gave her that.
He arose, and grasped her hand as she led him to one of the best parties. Derek followed.
He smiled, he guess he did follow her after all.

Dima sat bored out of his wits.

OOC: Now look what you did, this is all I will be able to write.

OOC; Lession might be cruel, but their worth it in the end.

IC; ATENNnnnnnHUT! The entire room snaped into order, the music stopped. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Sir, uh.. were celebrating our victory sir"
Wolff walked over to the music dispencer. "You troopers are Severly lout of line!" He then puts on a 22'nd century song called 'shoot the night' "There, now that's party music! Carry on!" Everyone laughed and resumed their party. Wolff simply walked out and to the Officers quarters. He sat down on a couch, relaxing. Razak and Samsun were allready there. "So, Jean. Dong ju, How did the mission fare on your fronts?"
"I got some good kids, They're going to do great in future missions."
"Bah, I got some sicon rejects. Lost a good number down there too."
"Just give them a catalyst, and the'll do better." wolff said simpatically. The news on the vid screen changed to a young reporter. "This is Robert Higgens, Now Private robert higgans. I have just been enlisted and will bring you front line footage of the battlefields. Join me as I join the rouchneck unit through perilous adventures around the universe!"
"Bach, I have to put up with that now" said razak.
"You have a psychic in your ranks, right jean? How do you manage him?"
"Jenkins? he's an old school friend of two of my units, and infact was one of my students back befor the war. He's manegable."
"Some units get all the luck" said samsun.
"Yah, my psychic thinks he's more of a specialist. Hopefully a few more battles will straighten him out."
"Well, it did us. I remember when Redwing, Zim and I were privates. we were the three muskateers. Now look at us."
"Here here!" said wolf and samsun together

Alex wtche the troops party.he had climbed up on a crate and begain to relax. She put her bodyin limbo and begain to focus her mind.
Wy had the bug been afraid? She knew that he troops thought that they had the edge over the bugs but this was nt true.
Alex felt a presence in her mind.
~What do you want?~
~What have you found Alex?~
~The troops fight well together. They need a little more practice together, butthe fight.~
~and Wolffi?~
~He is a good leader.~
Alex knew HE wouldn't be happy with her report. HE was never happy with her.
She looked at the soilders below her. Some had joined to becoe citizens. Some to fight the bugs. SHE had join because she was expected to join. Her family would take no less. She came from a long line of Intel officers. She was expected to be the best.
All she wanted was to be alive,in the end.
Alex miled at Wolffi and hisfriends. They where like children. Alex, m girl, she thought, your getting old before your time. She oked up at he sky. Alex raised her mental shields and just watched the stars.

Vixen walked into the party, just in time to see the lighter side of Lt Wolff. He went out to the officers lounge and Vixen looked around at all the party-people. She sighed and stretched, feeling all on edge. She walked up to the bar and ordered a stiff drink. She lifted it to her lips and sipped, feeling the firey liquid warm her stomach. One of the team, she didn't remember his name asked her to dance. She hesitated, he grinned at her confidently. She had to smile back, she slammed down the rest of her drink and let him lead her onto the dance floor.

He wolf-whistled her as she started to sway sexily before him. He rested his hands on her hips as she let her body slide up against his. She really loved to dance. This was a Vixen not many people got to see. She laughed, the sound warm and tantalising. The private couldn't help himself. He slipped a hand behind her head and pulled her in for a kiss. Her lips were soft and parted for his insistent tongue. She tried to pull away from him, but he was enjoying it all to much. Finally Vixen managed to move her head away but he held on, causing her long dark hair to come loose about her shoulders. She looked far more feminine, almost vulnerable. Her eyes flashed angrily at him. "Listen buddy, if you want more than a dance, there are women for that outside..." she hissed.
"Sheeesh... didn't know you were frigid!" He retorted nastily, "babe, I could melt that ice heart of yours guaranteed."
Vixen reacted instinctively, she punched him in the face. He yelled out in pain clutching his face. Blood oozed out of his nose. His voice was muffled, "what the fuck did you do!... You broke my nose ya bitch!" His mates came up to see what had happened.

Vixen brushed her hair angrily out of her eyes. She glared at his mates, she almost wanted them to attack... it would feel better breaking real bones than firing laser's at damn bugs and getting covered in slime she thought briefly.

Wolff walked into the room as the trooper got up from the floor. "WHat's going on in here!?"
"Uh... Just...testing the physical...limits of a human body sir" he heard that somewhere.
"Is that how it went?"
"Yes sir" said Vixen. "We were atempting to find a threshhold of pain to accuretly judge when to do a level 7 incase of bug capture Sir"
Wolff gave them a sour look, meaning he didn't believe them. "This parties over. Get some sleep, we take first work duty in the morning." Wolff stepped out of the room, and walked strait to the debriefing room. Captain maylo was sitting there. Along with him was Major Barcalo and Colonel Wick. Presiding to the side, wishing to witness this courtmarshal were Lt. Razak and Lt. Samsun. Infront of the captain standing tall and proud was Dima Zelin. Wolff took place next to him and the preceding began. The begining went for the most part by routine. Name, rank, ID, conditions of the battle. Then they got down to business.
"Private Dima Zelin, you are in violation of taking unnesisary actions resulting in the loss of life and valuable sicon equipment. DO you have anything to say on your behalf?"
"No sir, I acted as I was instructed and felt most benefitial in the fight against the bugs sir."
"Leutenant Wolff, do you have anything to add?"
"Sir, we had a totaled marauder suit just lying there sir. I ordered private zelin to compose a bomb from the power core and use it against the bugs. I also ordered him to set the countdown, as I was allready informed that the mission was completed and Evac was on it's way Sir." Wolff lied, he only learned of the completion of the mission after zelin announced the arming of the bomb. Dima braved a quick glance at his LT, shocked that he would stand up for him after all the brass he gave wolff.
"Judjing by the evidence given, I hereby sentance Private Dima Zelin a section 2, then reinstated to the THema squad with a perminent rank of Private for 3 years or untill proven worthy. Dismissed" Wolff glanced at Razak and he only smiled. WOlff and Dima walked out, noting how lucky Dima got off. A section 2 was when somone is put through one hour of mental hell. It is a punishment that has prooven very effective in turning rare disloyalacks into loyal fighting machines.
"T-thank you sir!"
Wolff turned zelin to look him in the eye. "If you don't follow my orders to the letter or argue with anything I say again, I won't be so supportive again. We are here to fight bugs, not for rank and achievement. The second you forget that I will personally endorce a Section 8. Do you get me?"
"Sir, yes sir!"
"Good. now go to your quarters and get some rest. report for kitchen duty at oh-five hundred tomorrow." Dima saluted and ran off, and Wolff could only smile.

The next day Dima got up nice and early. He dressed in seconds and ran to the kitchen like his life depended up on it, which it pretty much did."Sir, what shall I cook for you, Sir?" he asked the lt.

Vixen woke up, washed up, dressed. She stretched and limbered up. She was early. She was always early to wake. She got onto the floor and started doing pushups, when she'd done 50 she started on situps. 50 of those later she stretched again and checked the time. Breakfast. She walked to the mess hall and grabbed a tray. She didn't usually pay much attention to who was serving so she was surprised to look up and see Dima. She didn't say anything, she watched as he piled the most unappetising slop she'd ever laid eyes on, onto her plate. She sighed and grabbed a liquid catridge and found a seat.

She saw the private who had hasseled her the night before enter the mess. He scowled when he saw her. Her face remained impassive. His nose looked shocking, clearly broken. Vixen shovelled her food down, trying not to notice the bland taste. She finished her liquid's and moved to put her plate and tray away. She wasn't sure what was on the agenda today, she arrived at the duty waiting point 5 minutes early. Leaning against a wall she waited for everyone else to arrive.

OOC; there is no staff on an interstellar starship. As payment for riding, every trooper takes shifts doing the ggrunge work. Cooking, cleaning, maintenence, etc. THe morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are rotated each week (or mission when they are close together). and exercises and training occupy the other shifts.

Derek woke, with sleep still in his eyes. He rubbed them, looking out the small window in his room. It was dark outside, and almost made him want to go back to bed. Then he remembered he was in space, and there was no day time.
Derek got dressed, looking at his other two room mates, they were still asleep. He went outside, starting on his morning exercise. He took a jog around the place, looking at the different rooms and assortments.
He ended up in the mess hall. He grabbed breakfast, and choked it down. Then he went back to look for anyone familiar, it was going to be a long day.
He looked up. Trying to get the creak out of his neck. Derek went over to the exercise room. Getting on a few different machines. Derek decided this was pointless, he was doing little things to make the time pass.
Derek went back to the main room, seeing if he could get something done.

Wolff was finishing up sweep duty when his top kick showed up. "Leutenant Wolff sir."
"What is is Seargent flores"
"Sir, I am requesting leave from work duty today sir"
"What is so important seargent?"
"Sir, the rouchnecks are wrestling today sir. I wish to join and humiliate my sister sir"
Wolff smiled. "Procede seargent. And seargent,"
"sir?"
"Give her a spladel for me!"
"Sir yes sir."
Wolff smiled again then proceded to his quarters to write up his daily report.

Vixen had finished her duties for the morning shift. She grimaced as she recalled cleaning out the bathrooms at the officers lounge. Seriously gross, you'd think as high ranking officers they'd show a little class. Vixen shook her head.

She walked into the main room. She overheard some talk about a wrestling match and the Roughnecks. She wondered if the team she was in would ever be as famous as those guys. She wondered if she'd ever find that special bond... that friendship that she saw in the other teams.

She sat alone pondering this. She knew she was stand-offish, came with her training. She was a sniper... nice term for assassin really. Admittedly not much use in a fight against a million bugs... but still... that was where she tested talented so thats how they focused her training. She always thought that making a friendship was a waste of time, why get attached to people if odds were they'd be dead after the next mission? However, lately... she wasn't so sure.

She sat down on a standard issue chair. They weren't terribly comfortable but since they hadn't received any orders yet she was basically free to do as she pleased. There wasn't anything she really wanted to do, she picked up a novel, not really interested in it but it was something to pass the time. She sat back and before long... she had dozed off. Her training helped... her body naturally grabbed sleep whenever it could. She frequently went days without sleeping properly during her long hours training... just catching naps here and there when she could.
