I think we had a thread about Sun Signs a few years ago. It was very interesting at the time.

There really is no sign that is any more inclined towards BDSM than any other. It depends largely on the make-up of astrological chart drawn at the moment of birth. Even environmental, and early childhood events can be seen in the natal chart so you can also see the combinations of nurture vs. Astrology (fate) [Although Astrology is not about fate either.]

There are however, certain aspects between planets that tend towards 'kinkier' behavior, but those aspects are not limited to Sun Signs.

Truthfully, it is a mistake to lump all similar Sun Signs into one category. Of course there will be many similar characteristics, but no two people will ever be exactly alike astrologically. (Well, twins can come damn close, but even they are not identical astrologically).

Cait is right about sunsigns and not lumping them all together.

Unfortunately I have six planets in virgo and the others are pretty close by.

6 planets in Virgo? Well, then the description of a Virgo will REALLY speak to who you are. Anyone with a preponderance of planets in the same sign or clustered within the space of 3 signs will be remarkable true to their Sun Sign description. But, this is not the norm for most people.

[one piece of advice: gets lots of restful sleep, it will help with all that endless 'thinking and figuring'. ]

My house can be chaotic to other people's eyes, but ask me for something, and I'll know exactly where it is. *laughs*

Cait: I'm an insomniac due to the constant thinking and considering and figuring.. I sometimes wonder how many other Virgos suffer the same problem.

I am a scorpio, and as i read through i must admit that it fits me well. However, i also read through taurus, and that fits me just as well. In short, i really dont believe in this. I think we read stuff into astrology, and it tells us what we want to know. Sorry to be the skeptic here.

However I do cast the I Ching on occasion. for me that is very different from astrology, in that it is totally random, and gives you obscure guidance, with the hope that you will make something of it. It does not predict, it is more like a friend who is constantly saying, "Yeah, but what if you tried to look at it this way?"


anyone else ever cast the I Ching here? And does anyone know where i can get yarrow stalks?

Yes here I am at 4.04am pondering and wondering stuff, and now I am wondering how to get the restful sleep that Cait advises.

Oh also wondering how to tease shyguy,

Edited to add: also pondering how to make the fairy in my sig line smaller, she used to be much smaller than that.
any clues, hints, ideas on this and how to tease/annoy shyguy would be welcome

This is such an interesting thread. My birthday is Jan 20th, which means (I guess) I am on the cusp of Aquarius. I do have a lot of Aquarius traits - I am incredibly loyal, I can be very detached, I am fiercely independent. Yet, I also seem to have some Capricorn traits. I'm reserved and pessimistic. Maybe I need someone to do my whole chart so I can figure out how it fits. In the business world, I have a Master's degree, I'm doing well in my field, very comfortable with execs, etc... Yet, in the bedroom I really just want to find the right Dom.

I have never known one that didn't suffer from insomnia or use some form of self-medication in order to go to sleep. But I don't know EVERY Virgo on the planet so I'm not going to make a sweeping generalization. Suffice it to say, I have known a good many Virgo's and they all had the problem, so you are in normal Virgo territory.

There are a few ways to get restful sleep. Some physical activity works well, but mainly the trick is to do something that does not require thinking. So that leaves, physical, emotional and spiritual. Any of these can be used as a means to try and reduce the mental activity.

The Virgo mind [Or anyone with a strong Mercurial chart] is in a continual loop. The mind asks questions, and then seeks answers, only to be confronted with even more questions needing answers, and so on, and so on.

To short out this loop, you use a different energy. Physical energy is the most common, but you can use the others too [emotional and spiritual]. Exercising, playing sports, sex, running, aerobics, bicycling, skateboarding, roller skating, anything that requires you to concentrate on what your body is doing, will cut off the endless thinking.

That should help with sleep.

As I said in the other thread, I dont choose partners based on this - but I do put some stock in a real chart, with all aspects examined.

But not something as simple as a star sign.

I am very typically Aries, but that's only because the rest of my chart allows for it.

I'm naturally dominant - but I get very turned off by men who roll over for me.

Go figure.

Basic Personality: Analytical, philosophical, emotional, intuitive, stubborn, caring, nurturing, posessive, playful, competitive...

As a switch, I can fit in for me, what my basic personality traits mean as Submissive and as Dominant.

Dominant: Playful, caring, posessive, intuitive, competitive, analytical. I have it in me to be a right bastard, though I never indulge the urge to be straight-up evil. I'm always in competition, if only with myself. Sounds like a typical Taurus to me.

Submissive: Philosophical, emotional, intuitive, analytical, stubborn, competitive. In other words, I'm a huge pain in the ass, as a submissive. My emotions and intuitions can cause a lot of irritation, and my competitive nature means I'll try and do or be more than is really a good idea. Try to take more sensation play than might be a good idea, try to do more than I really can (in service), that sort of thing. Sounds like a typical Taurus, to me.

I'm a scorpio and so I have always been a natural Dom. Very dark, very mysterious, deep seeded need to control and dominate. It's always been natural for me.

I wouldn't say that astrology plays a huge role in my BDSM activities, but it does lead to greater self understanding and I do at least know who to avoid in any romantic context
