That is a really cute idea. Now all I need are a few more pictures are a really good camera. Would one of the video camera for my 'puter do it?

I can't do that. I was my face or the rest of me.
I am not brave enough to do both, not without the
veil of artistry.

I think it will do... at least for the "multi-picture"-edition... for the HD-cutted-edition I'd recommend scanning a "real" photograph or doing it with a really good digicam (6-8MP or higher) because it needs a high pixel-density to be blown up enough to cut it into smaller pieces.

How about this:

Try and take a close-up of your eyes. or try getting someone to take your picture while your half-hidden in shadows. Another artistic headshot would be if your picture is taken in BW whilst being in a steamed-up shower... in a darkend room it could look you were in a foggy mysterious forest or someplace... secret and sensual...
