Statehood for D.C.

And while we're at it we could see if Alberta would like to signup. Canada should have been part of the USA anyhow, except for those foolish Loyalists.
I suspect it's too late now. Canada has developed a national identity. It's mainly a matter of not being American -- certainly it has nothing to do, any more, with being British -- but such as it is, it is.

I recall reading the the Canadian magazine MacLean's once ran a contest to complete the phrase, "As Canadian as ---------". And the winning entry was, "As Canadian as possible under the circumstances.

Yeah, I know that's the real reason. I got the solution. Fuck 'em.

But we should split commiefornia, Oregan and Washington. Those poor states don't deserve to be subjected to Seattle, Portland and LA/SF.

We need a Constitutional Convention and a reworking of all the States, esp the ones with large cities which had nothing in common with the surrounding state. And while we're at it we could see if Alberta would like to signup. Canada should have been part of the USA anyhow, except for those foolish Loyalists.

And maybe it's time to bite the bullet and just absorb Cuba as another State. And maybe the Phillipines would like to rejoin?
California almost spit off the south eastern and central parts of the state back in the late 1850s, early 60s. The Pico Act was approved by the Legislature and signed off by the governor. Civil war put it on ice.

Grant toyed with the bringing the Dominican Republic into the republic but that got no traction.

A Silicon Valley VC floated a non starter in the mid 2000s that would have split the state into three states.

DC and Puerto Rico statehood won’t be happening in my lifetime. Canada is a possibility though.

Puerto Rico has 3.2 million people and a much stronger case for statehood, but DC gets the electoral votes and more statehood advocacy.
PR presents a different problem: Up to now, a territory was never admitted as a state until English-speaking Protestants had become a majority of the population -- or at least clearly the dominant culture, as in Hawaii. That will never happen in PR, it will always be part of the Latin-Catholic culture complex. So statehood for PR does, at some level, mean redefining American identity.

Good God…you are perpetually confused. What does Article 1, Section 8 say?

Less time floating crazy left wing fantasies on a sex site and more time in the school library.

The Dems were the bigger party. Getting all their factions and conflicting interest groups in line for an electable candidate was most of the work. Now the parties are approximately even. If the Dems become the smaller party, they will need more blue states. They may suddenly love the electoral college.
Not likely. The GOP depends too much on demographics that are dying out and not being replaced, such as the religious right and social/cultural conservatives. It has no space to grow into.
