With the lights dimmed and all, it was hard to make out what was mere inches away from my face. I squeezed through individual after individual, attempting to finally reach my friends, who were without a doubt awaiting my arrival. Along with my boyfriend, Kevin, who was just about the sweetest guy you'd ever meet. Our relationship was amazing, us being together since the very beginning of high school and planned to be together forever really. Sure, we didn't see eye to eye on many issues but that was besides the point.

We were in love.

At least, I think we were. It's hard to compare my relationship with anything, considering that Keven is my first and only boyfriend. And so, these were my thoughts in my head, as I pushed my way through many people, with a cheap beer within the grasp of my right hand. This sleazy bar wasn't exactly the best idea for a large party, I think. Oh well, I'm sure Kevin will learn from his mistak-

Suddenly, my thoughts were pushed aside when I bumped into a certain someone.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!"
I say, looking up to see the individual in question.

Ryan was a self-made millionaire thanks to some good investments and knowing when to stay in and when to get out. He was in the bar that night with some of his buddies. Ryan really didn't like going out to bars but he wanted to hang out with his friends he was heading back to them when a very atracive young woman bumped in to him.

Ryan smiled at her, "That's all right... No harm no foul... My name's Ryan..."

"That's all right... No harm no foul... My name's Ryan..."

"Nice to meet you Ryan.
"
I say in my usual friendly tone, offering my hand for a handshake. "I haven't see you around before, are you here for the party?" I then inquire, as we're pressed together, what with all the people pushing against us as they move about in the busy bar.

I shook the young woman's hand "Yeah, Kind of..." Then we are pushed together... I kind of liked it... "How about you? How do you know Kevin?" Kevin was one of my cousin. He was an OK kid but he had a lot to learn about life.

"How about you? How do you know Kevin?"

"Oh, I'm his girlfriend Eliza. Nice to meet you."
I say with a warm smile. "I hope you don't mind, we're kinda crowded in here. Do you know where I could find Kevin? I've been looking for him all night." I then add, as people pushed against us practically every minute.

I looked at her with a bit of surprise. "Your Kevin's girlfriend? Wow... Well, Kevin's a very lucky guy..." When she asked if I saw him, I nodded, "Yeah... He's at the table... Come with me..." I took Eliza's hand and lead her over to wear Kevin was sitting... "Hey, cuz... Look who I found..." Then I showed him Eliza...

Hand in hand, I went with Kevin's cousin and eventually, he brought me to my boyfriend's table. "Hey sweety!" I say as I move to him, as to give a kiss. "Thanks...um, what's your name..." I then say, as Kevin told me his cousin's name "Ryan! Yeah, thanks for your help. Want to stick around?"

"Yeah... Why not..." I took a seat next to Eliza... I sat there and watched Kevin and Eliza together. He was so lucky to be with such a great girl like that. Soon, Kevin walked away to talk with some of his friends. If I did this right I might be able to steal her away from him... "So, Eliza... What do you do?"

Kevin and I chatted around a bit, that is, until he went off with some of his friends. I smiled, being content with everything so far. Today wasn't really all that crazy of a night.

"So, Eliza... What do you do?"

"Hm? Oh, I'm a college student." I state "I'm majoring in statistics. Not really all that exciting but I'm good at it." Curious about his own standing, I ask "So Ryan, what do you do?"

Ryan nodded when she said she was a college student. When she asked what he did for a living he smiled, "Well, I'm a retired stock broker. Thanks to some good investments, I'm set for life..." He couldn't help but wonder if being a rich guy would be enough to take her away from Kevin.

"That's pretty good." I say as if it isn't a big deal "I'm sure that you and Kevin are two very different people. I mean, Kevin is a Fine Arts student." I then add as proof of their difference, and was surprise by the feel of his hand on my knee. Evidently, I didn't do anything as it could have been a mistake right?

I put my hand on Eliza's knee, and took a sip of my drink, "Being a Fine Arts Major is OK.. But what good is that going to do in long run... No... I wouldn't be surprised if he's flipping burgers with in a year of graduating.

"Oh come on." I say as you sip from your drink, not quite moving your hand away "What does money actually mean at the end of the day? He loves his major, isn't that important?" I then ask. Of course, I wasn't exactly so optimistic. I often wondered just were the possibilities of going far with just that.

I moved my hand a little farther up her leg, "You are right. Money isn't everything. But, haven't you always dreamed of having a nice house with a couple of kids, maybe a cat. Do you think that have a Fine Art Degree will be enough to provide for you and you're future kids?"

His hand now moving further up my leg, now resting on my thigh, I replied "Well...it's not that I haven't thought of that. But Kevin loves art and it wouldn't be right to take it away from him, right?" I gasped as I felt a soft squeeze on my thigh and decided to move conversation along "I'm assuming that you don't like the idea of his major?"

"He can do whatever he wants with his life..." I took a sip of my drink... "Kevin's a great kid... But, I think you all ready know he doesn't think things through to well... This party being a good example..." I started to slide my hand up and down her thigh,"I was just saying you should keep your options open..."

I wasn't all too sure what he meant, that is until I felt his hand become gradually a bit more adventurous. "My options open...?" I said out-loud, actually contemplating the idea. I shook my head quickly "No no - I couldn't do that. It's just not right."

I whispered in her ear... "Think about Eliza... If you come with me... I could show you the world... You'd never have to work a day in your life... You'd have a nice home... Nice clothes... and your future kids would be well taken care of..." My hand moved up closer to her private area...

Kevin's cousin evidently got bolder, his hand now between my legs, capturing my inner-thighs with the gently grasp of his hand. "I- I can't...This isn't right..." I mumble out, silenced by his nibble on my earlobe. "W-Well...maybe..." I then muttered, cursing myself within my mind.

I smiled... "I'll give you a little time to think about it... I'll be in my car the blue SUV... I'll be waiting for 10 minutes... If you are not there then I'll go home and we'll never speak of this again..." I gave her a little peck on the cheek. I got up found my cousin and said my good byes. Then I headed out to my car and waited for Eliza..

And so, I found myself in a wild predicament. I mean...I could go with him but - No! What was I thinking? Well...maybe.

That said, I don't know how he did it. Or how I did it, for that matter. With a kiss on the cheek, I told Kevin that I was not feeling well and so, I made my way to the parking lot...and found that blue SUV. Slowly, I got to the window and knocked.

I smiled when I saw Eliza walk up to my window and knock, "Good to see you Eliza... Get in..." I unlocked the doors and she walked around and got in the passenger side. I rolled up the window and headed for home. "You made a very good choice, my dear... You are going to be very happy with me..."

"You made a very good choice, my dear... You are going to be very happy with me..."

I waited a second to gather my thoughts before nodding and saying "I feel so terrible about this..." as I put on my seat-belt, assuming that we were indeed going to drive off. In my mind, I still wonder why I'm gong along with this. Perhaps this was going to happen, regardless if I met Ryan or not. Or maybe...he was that convincing?

I stared up the car and started to drive to my house. "Don't feel bad.. Kevin will get over it..." We drove for a little while until we reached my home. It was a nice size home in the suburbs. I walked around and opened the door for Eliza. I took her hand and lead her inside. We walked to the living room and I started a fire in the fire place, "Would you like some wine, my dear?"

Hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel a bit depressed over leaving Kevin. Just what was I thinking - yet again, I asked myself that question. Still, the atmosphere inside certainly help comfort me a bit. "A little bit would be nice..." I said softly, obviously a bit distraught. Just what did this all mean?
