Shanglan, you can let go of her leg now.

Perdita

Hi Mum, I really didn't think it was around San Diego but I was tryin to trick BlackShanglan into tellin me where it was, without success. But then "Perdita -- the brain of the AH body" popped up and knew the answer. Thanks for proving that my devious and diabolical plan worked, although I am kinda at a loss what to do with the information. See ya.

Conchobar has returned... ;)

That bastard. ;) Cuchulain should have killed him when he had the chance. My sympathies have always lain with the House of Usnach.

Ha! I know too many people more well read than me. I'll never read all I desire, but I did fall in love with Irish literature and culture and learned a lot from Yeats, Synge, Maude Gonne (A Servant of the Queen), Lady Gregory and Speranza Wilde. (Being Catholic also helped, all those Irish priests and nuns, haha.)

Ah, lovely. I think On Baile's Strand one of the finest plays written.

If either of you has not seen Thomas Kinsella's translation of the Tain, I highly recommend it. It nicely captures, as Yeats calls it, "that simplicity which is force." What I would not give to write like that ...

My, my, you are the devious creature, aren't you? I shall have to watch out for you. Fortunately, I find a devious mind a charming accomplishment in a lady.

So "Psycho Sex" can I call ya that for short, or does it lose some meaning when translated into english, do you live in northern Ireland?

You may certainly call me that for short; it seems accurate enough ;)

As for the latter question, you put me at something of a disadvantage, as I generally try to avoid acknowledging any disconnection between my charming horsey self and the individual who sits at a keyboard typing my comments. However, for the sake of honesty, I will admit that Black Shanglan, the chariot horse of Cuchulain, does live at Emain Macha, and that someone else does not, being an American by birth.

Hehehehehehehehehhehehehehehehehehehhehe!!!!

I love riddles. Gimme some more hints. Was the horsey born in America? Or does the horsey type?

WTF were you refering to? Did I miss a post? Did somebody write "Politically Correct" on a two by four and shove it up your ass?

Actually, now that I think about it ... is it too late for that to happen?

Horsey was born in Ulster some time before the 8th century. Hooves are useful things, but not terribly helpful in typing.

My counterpart was born rather more recently in America, and has those useful little digits you humans put to such good use on a keyboard.

I hope that this does not evoke the entire Gauche/CV issue; I have no other posting persona, only a certain separation between my equine public character and my more private life.

Oy! I feel stupid! I got the Emain Macha/Ulster part, but I didn't know Black Shanglan was the chariot horse of Cuchulain. I sort of thought you had bastardized the Chinese word for November and you were some sort of clever "Black November" subversive type. ;)

I should have googled, eh? Oy!

I don't know. Actually, your version sounds immensely more clever and literate ;) Damnit. Is it too late to pretend that I meant that?

I realize that the reference is obscure, but I enjoy being a horse. Now if I can just track down Fergus MacRoich - any man whose name translates literally as "great stallion of virility" is all right by me ;) I am quite delighted to find someone else who knows Emain Macha and the Ulster cycle - such a pleasure to know that all of that beauty is not yet lost.

Modesty forbids I mention what turns up on Google for the first five links.
