Story pending for over a month

I submitted a story back in September, and it was in my pending folder for 20 days. I read on here that sometimes deleting the story and resubmitting it can help. So I did and now my story has been pending for over a month.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. I copied the text to the box instead of submitting a .doc file. I completed the rest of the form correctly and even added a note. The story is definitely in my pending folder and not saved as a draft.

Is waiting this long common? This is my first story, so I understand that it may take longer for first-time authors.

It's not common, but it is certainly happening on a regular basis. There is some sort of glitch in the system. The site owners haven't provided any information so all we can do is speculate.
You should message @Laurel here on the site and let her know and fill out a bug report.
Other than that, not much you can do.

Don't expect a reply from her. That is extremely rare. But hopefully she will bounce your story out today (give it a publication date not actually have it appear.)

I submitted ch 19 to my series Marcus Hogue on 11/3. Was kicked back as AI. Has been submitted three times since. Most recent 11/24. Still in Pending hell status. Messaged Laurel sent bug report. Nada.

Seems like it might be time to find a new site to post to

Story is still pending. I send a message to laurel, but have not yet received a reply.
Very frustrating.

Laurel's advice in her thread on this subject states to wait 15 days before bringing a pending story to her attention.

This is what I did this morning and the story was published within hours. No reply to my message, but I didn't expect one.

I don't consider myself "fortunate". I am probably more patient than most, and I have expectations based upon seeing what others have experienced lately.

A month? Whoa. I've never seen a pending time that long. Hopefully messaging Laruel will help.

I recently had a story that had been pending for two months. I tried the recommendation du jour and deleted and resubmitted twice, waiting three weeks each time. When I got to the third three week wait, I messaged Laurel and it was released the next day.

I actually still believe messaging Laurel the first time (and maybe the second time) would likely not have worked. After being completely non-responsive for over a month, she had started reacting to notes fro a number of people again.
