“What!! You don’t like my outfit?” I complained. Then I smiled “Sure… after we get through this wet part of the swamp.” I suggested

We headed out again and enter an area full of cypress trees. The swamp here was not as wet. Jacob and I made good time and after a few hours we were more in a forest than a swamp. Then vines hanging down from the tree started to get thicker and thicker. Soon there were vines everywhere. We found a path and followed it until we reached a small rise.

In the distance, we saw the crumbling, vine-choked ruin, of the temple of the eye. An enormous, hideous eye was carved into the wall above the black stone altar. We noticed temple priests guarding the site. But we also noticed that they never enter the catacombs below the temple. There was also a group of well guarded slave laborers chiseling stone carvings from the temple’s ancient walls, and teams of bearers ferry the carvings back to an area behind the temple.

“I guess I’m ready for that new outfit” I told Jacob. “What do you think they are doing?” I asked him looking at the slaves chiseling away.

I purse my lips a little as I look out from the ridge, watching the activity at the crumbled ruin. Judging from the state of the ruins, it made me think that the priests were trying to get things back up and running for rituals. After all, even the stone altar looked like it had seen better days. I chuckle for a moment.

"I would say they are trying to get that place up and running again. I am not sure, but this could be a sign that they are expanding their power reach, or something has spurn them into action that they need this place up and running again."

I smile for a moment as she said she was ready for a new outfit from me to wear. Letting her continue to watch things progress, I open my inventory to see what I had to my liking. I had large quantity of both male and female armor to wear, as I had a special ring that allowed me to change genders in the game. I liked the eye candy of things, but it did make me wonder if the ring would still work or how it would be affected by the change as well. Despite how skimpy much of the female armor looked, it had had very good stats to make up for the coverage, or lack thereof. It made me wonder how things would translate here as well.

"I am not sure how much you will like this, but I think it would suit you."

As I pull out the various pieces for the outfit, it looked as if I was pulling them out of thin air before dropping to the ground in front of Zetta.

Zetta

I looked at my new outfit. “I like it” I told Jacob. “Except these spike things on my legs. Hard to walk around without killing someone.” I told him. He did some kind of magic and the spikes were gone.

"Thanks" I said.

I look back at the temple. I could see the ancient walls that surrounded the temple city. Inside the walls, many of structures were remarkably fully intact, while other had decayed. I saw the main entrance and noted its location.

We made our way off the overlooking hill and down towards the ruins. As we approached the outer wall of the temple city, we noticed a dead body lying on the ground. I careful approached the body and crouched down to examine the dead man. It was a slave, who had been slabbed.

“These guys are assholes” I told Jacob as I gripped my scythe tighter. We did not want to fight these sect priests, but our ploy to fool them might not work. We worked our way around the wall until we reached the main entrance. Two sect guards were at the gate. I also spotted a pile of dead bodies near the gate.

“Time to see if this will work” I whispered to Jacob.

I walked out of the jungle and towards the guards. I showed no fear, walking confidently. The guards readied their weapons and were about to say something when I spoke.

“The Great Demon, Lord Azarel has arrived” I announced loudly. Then I turned to watch Jacob come out of the jungle.

As I approached the guards, I could tell they didn't quite believe what was going on. They held their pikes up in a defensive stance, ready to strike out as needed. After all, someone just appearing out of thin air to claim they were some high and mighty demon lord probably wasn't an everyday occurrence. They were quiet until I was only a few feet away from them, the one on the right stepping forward to challenge me.

"Halt! And who are you that dares to claim to be our Lord Azarel? You just look like some common fool in a fancy outfit."

As I thought, this was going to take more than just words to get the point across. I notice that Zetta stepped forward to protest, but I just held up a hand to stop her. After a moment, I just smiled. I pointed my hand towards the guard that had stepped closer, palm facing him. It was barely a moment before a bolt of lightning flashed from my palm towards the guard. Even trying to use my lowest level spell was going to be overkill it seemed.

The guard was struck by the lightning, screaming as he shook and lightning crackled along his armor and whole body. It soon jumped from his body as it crumbled to the ground in a pile ash, killing two of the nearby workers. The remaining guard blinked for a moment, all the color draining from his face. It took a few moments for him to gather his wits and rush inside to say that we had arrived.

Inside the Temple of the Eye

High Priest Nictis looked over his assembled priests and he smiled. Lust was an uncommon trait for one such as he, but he liked the concept of forbidden fruit. The priests had asked for some whores as a small reward for the progress made on restoring the conjuring circle. He had allowed it. The beautiful whores were among the gathered priests, talking and flirting. It made him mad. He decided to kill the whores in front of the priests. It felt good to destroy his priests hopes, grind them down into dispirited, depressed, drones. Maybe one of them would commit suicide today, over the hopelessness of their situation.

His eyes fell on the whores in the room. They were beautiful. The brunette was big and wide, built for a naughty gangbang. The blonde had already removed her top and was showing off her nipple piercings, and the redhead had pulled off her panties to prove she was a true red head. He needed to take all of them away from the priests.

“Bring all the whores to me” He commanded. Everyone in the hall stopped talking, the place grew quiet. No one moved. The Assistant High Priest Merk spoke up “High Priest, I mean no disrespect, but we have gathered a special gift of slaves for you tonight, much better souls than these girls. Shall I bring them in?” he said his voice shaking in fear.

“I will not ask twice, bring the whores to me NOW” he commanded again, his eyes seemed as if they were on fire. The priests knew there was nothing more to say and the whores were gathered up and brought to the dais. The High Priest stood up before the 3 women, and pull out his magical scepter. The scepter was 3 feet in length, with a round smooth ball at the end, The sphere was about the size of a human fist. But all the priests, knew that Nictis could trigger a 6 inch spike to come out of the top of the sphere. The women did not know the scepter's magical abilities.

"Worship my scepter, I know you know how, let's see who will not choke to death on my tool” Nictis declared.

The brunette thought she knew what was coming next. The high priest was going to use his scepter to choke each of her friends to death. She wanted to protect her friends. So she stepped forward first. “I’d love to suck on your mighty scepter.” she said to him as she grabbed his weapon and began to stroke it like it was a cock. “MMMMMM, I shall be the first to feel this in my throat” she moaned in pleasure as she licked the ball. She sucked on the tip and worshipped it. “Treat my slut mouth like a pussy… " She moaned stroking his scepter at her open mouth. Then she swallowed the fist sized ball into her mouth. In and out, the other girls were impressed, as she came up for air. “Squirt your load in my hungry mouth” she begged him.

The High Priest grunted in pleasure. “Oh, this whore is good… I think I shall enjoy tonight!” He said as Brunette resumed sucking on scepter. She used every trick she knew to please his Scepter, like it was a cock. Finally, the High Priest grunted “You are one filthy SLUT … Perhaps I will not kill you!”

The High Priest told the blonde “You pathetic piece of fuck meat! Get over here”

The blonde came over and he grabbed and pulled her hair. "Help her suck on my Scepter” The Blonde started to licked the tip with the Brunette. The High Priest grabbed the Brunette’s big jugs. He found her nipples and twisting them hard, pulling them up tightly until she screamed out in pain, her cries muffled by his scepter in her mouth. “You use these big udders to control my priests… shaking your big jugs at them … driving them crazy… but they are also your weakness … COW”. He pinched her nipples SO HARD as she screamed in pain.

“You bore me, time for you to die” The High Priest declared. But just at that moment, a guard burst into the room.

“High Priest! The Great Demon, Lord Azarel, demands you come outside and meet with him.” The guard gasped.

“What?” Nictis asked.

“The Great…” The guard started to explain again, but Nictis waved him off.

“Move your guards to the main entrance” He ordered his guard captain. “I shall meet with this great demon.” He told everyone in the hall.

I watch the guard rush off for a moment, glancing back at Zetta. She still seems to have a smile on her face from proudly announcing me to the guards. She seems to be taking things in stride rather well, which I hope will continue for sometime. There's something about her that gives me a smile, and it wasn't just her wonderful skill at blowjobs.

I turn back to look at the remains of the dead guard, finding myself not repulsed by the sight. There is a small swell of pride at the whole thing, as if I had been freed from some sort of invisible restraint. I had never been one to really lash out or cause trouble, but maybe this would be a good change. I didn't want to become some insane evil guy, killing people for fun, but something told me I just might have to make a few dead bodies and enemies if I wanted to survive in this world.

That brought another thought to my mind. Did I really want to go home so soon, like Zetta had asked, or would it be better for me to stay? It would be a waste of time if I came here, only to turn right around and leave again. After all, all I really had waiting for me there was a slow death.

Pushing those thoughts aside, I did not to wait for whoever that was going to greet me. Striding forward confidently, I didn't glance back to see if Zetta was following. I had gotten a few feet inside the large room that served as a main foyer when the head priest came out in a huff.

Behind the High Priest were the guard I had sent in, followed by a handful of other guards. The High Priest stopped suddenly at the sight of me, surprise on his face. This caused the guard who was followed behind him to bump into him. The Priest growled at the action, causing the guard to scramble off to one side as the other five fanned out in front of me. The Priest was silent with pursed lips, studying me carefully before speaking as he pointed his staff at me.

"Are you the one claiming to be our Great Lord Azarel?"

I smirk for a moment, nodding. After all, I can't show any signs of wavering. The High Priest frowned even harder, if such a thing was possible. He suddenly shouted as he charged forward at me, raising his staff like a club.

"Blasphemer!"

The guards flinch as if to move after the High Priest, but the one I had intimidated shakes his head, fear in his eyes. I give a little sigh as I grip the hand of The Soul Hunter, a high level staff I had equipped across my back. Using a hand, I swing it around in an arc in front of me as The Priest enters my range. Nothing seems to happen for a moment until the man's body ran into me. His body stopped for a moment as his head tumbled backwards and bounced on the floor before his body slid down to the ground.

As Jacob cleanly sliced off the head of the high priest, I was impressed. It was amazing and produced quite a show. I could sense the guards were about to give up.

"MAGNIFICENT, ISN'T IT?" I yelled out to the guards. "LORD AZAREL CAN KILL EFFORTLESSLY!”

That was it. The guards were going to give up. They started to lower their weapons. But two priests in the back, also sensed the guards lack of fight, and they fired their crossbows. Unfortunately, the bolts were aimed at me, not Jacob. The sound of crossbow bolts hitting your chest is very unforgettable. It is a deep “thud” noise. I looked down at the two bolts sticking out of the middle of my chest. Then I looked up with cold anger.

“DO YOU REALLY WISH TO ANGER LORD AZAREL ANYMORE??” I screamed. All the guard knew I should be dead. But I acted as if nothing had happened to me. Jacob's display had stopped them, and my non-death turned them into our guards.

“NO” one of the guards yelled and turn on the priest that had fired one of the crossbows. He stabbed him right through the chest. The man was dead and fell to the floor. Another guard hatched into the second priest, it was not a clean blow, the Priest screamed in pain, but a second swing of the sword and the second priest was dead.

“LORD AZAREL, DEMANDS TO KNOW WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE!” I yelled.

Assistant High Priest Merk stepped meekly forward and bent a knee to Jacob. “I am Assistant High Priest Merk, Great Demon, Lord Azarel. How may I serve you?” He asked.

While the man was cowering to Jacob, I pulled the crossbow bolts from my chest and dropped them on the stone floor. I knew under my clothing my light blue skin would now have 2 holes in it. I would need to repair the holes. The bolts had not damaged any of my bones. That that was good. So the wounds would not impede any function, but the holes were unsightly.

Killing the Head Priest seemed like second nature, although something inside me was a little guilt-struck at having had to do so. There was a slim chance I could have done things through a more peaceful fashion, but I am not sure things would get done in the proper way. As Zetta began to yell, I laid my scythe against my back before it magically reholstered itself.

All in all, there was nothing more I needed to really do to get the point across. Zetta handled it all beautifully in my opinion, leaving me to stand there looking powerful. Her actions also make me glad I choose her to help and follow me.

It takes a moment for me to see the priest kneeling in front of me, pulling me from my little mind wander. Keeping up the fascade, I give a little grin down at the man.

"I have many things you can do for me, but those can wait. First, you can take me to your ritual summoning chamber so I can see it."

He nodded quickly for a moment before standing up. He took a brisk pace to lead the way, me following behind him. Though I didn't do anything, the guards took up a little formation as they followed behind us.

I followed behind Jacob suppressing a strong desire to put a smile on my face. His plan had worked! It was almost unbelievable. The priests here must have heard the Cult of the ALL Seeing Eye was trying to conjure the Great Demon. Perhaps they had even felt the magical power of the summoning. Those facts and the Jacob’s performance tricked them.

At some point, they would figure out Jacob was not the great demon. So we needed to complete our mission here and move on. Jacob must have been thinking the same thing and requested to see the ritual summoning chamber. The new head priest immediately complied with his request.

We walked through a large meeting area where junior priests were gathered. I noticed three stunningly beautiful women, a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead standing in the back. I could not tell if they were sacrifices or entertainment. But they certainly looked out of place among all the male priests.

Then we went down a wide set of stairs and into the summoning chamber. Slim braziers hung from twelve basalt columns lighting the room. The glow engulfed the chamber in a brilliant glimmer. Carved symmetric marble/granite tiles were arranged around the edge of the chamber. These were the rock tiles removed from outside of the temple.

The pattern was not complete as not all the tiles had made it inside this chamber yet. The flickering light on the carved marble and granite icons made them look sinister.

4 ivory rugs came from the four cardinal directions to splits the room into quarters. These white rugs lead to the central pool of water. In the middle of the pool was a flat lavish alter made of gold with embedded gems. There were labyrinthine carvings on the sides of the alter.

High Priest Merk turned to face Jacob. “Great Demon, this is ritual summoning chamber.”

I decided it needed to continue to play the bad guy. “High Priest Merk, Great Demon, Lord Azarel, IS DISPLEASED at your progress! I had been told you were almost done!” I stated.

“We have been working almost non-stop” Merk replied.

“ALMOST?” I questioned

“Small breaks to recharge, that is all” Merk replied, shaking in fear. He realized his life was on the line, so he added “High Priest Nictis killed many of our slaves for his personal entertainment. That has been a big factor in slowing our progress.”

I nodded my head in understanding. From the limited interaction I had with Nictis, I believed Merk analysis. “When will the chamber be complete?” I asked.

“We are missing 10 of the tiles, 1 day to move each of them and an additional day to refurbish the tiles. 11 days, if we don’t lose anymore slaves.” Merk replied.

I turned to Jacob. “Lord Azarel, you are most wise. What is your guidance? I and your new minions stand ready to serve you”

I almost grinned at how things were working out as we were led back into the ritual chamber. However, I did my best to remain stotic about it all. It wasn't good for me to give anything away on who I really was.

I take in the whole sad state of affairs in silence as I survey the chamber. From the sounds of things, they had fallen behind during to the Head Priest I had just killed. It was not what I wanted to hear right now, but I really had no choice in matters it seemed.

As Zetta addressed me, I frown for a moment as I continue to put on the act.

"This is a most unfortunate state of affairs. It seems your previous leader was an utter piece of garbage for not getting things done quicker. How dare you call this progress."

I turn to face Merk, frowning more. I really wouldn't get my answers here yet, so I would have to bid my time for now. I point my finger at the man, who gasps and shrinks back a little in fear.

"You...You will correct this mistake as quickly as possible. I need this summoning circle ready to go as soon as possible. You will make sure this gets done, pronto."

“His lordship will want to rest. Please show us to his quarters. It will need to be large enough for me to sleep there as well. He enjoys his carnal pleasure.” I told Merk

“Our finest room, is the head priest quarters. Guards please show the demon and his” Merk said and paused trying to think of a word to describe me “… aid, to the head priest’s quarters.”

“Thank you” I said to Merk as we were led away.

The head priest’s chambers were nice. They enter through a set of tall double doors. There was a small sitting room that opened into the bedroom and bathroom in the back. There was a balcony that overlooked the entrance of the temple. However, the dead priest had bad tastes in decoration. Or more accurately stated, he basically had no decorations. As the guards started to leave, I asked one of them to bring food and something to drink for his lordship.

Jacob and I only had a few moments to talk.

“That went well.” I said with a smile. “I hope you don’t mind me sleeping here. I think it will be safer for both of us” I suggested. “As far as the next week or so… should we just lay low… or explore the temple some more?” I asked

I was silent as Zetta went about commanding the preparations for our stay. I really wasn't planning or wanting to stay in one place for long, at least not until I got the lay of the land. I am a nagging feeling I was well and truly stuck in this world, so I had better start acting like I belonged. However, I really was feeling like being so evil all the time.

As the door closed behind us, I put my staff away as I made my way over to the balcony without really looking at the room. I sighed softly for a moment, shaking my head before turning and leaning back against the railing to look at Zetta.

"It's really a tough call to make. Eleven days is a bit of time to just wait around for that summoning circle to get finished. I wouldn't mind exploring the temple a little, but I do not want to stay here for the next eleven days. I would say three at most."

He was going to say more, but was interrupted by a knock at the door. A voice was heard from the other side.

"Food for the Great Azarel."

I purse my lips for a moment before calling out.

"Bring it in and put it on the bed."

Zetta

Jacob and I ate the food and talk about our plans for the next few days. We decided to explore the temple and then scout deeper into the swamp. Both could easily be explained to the priests and fit the roles we were playing. With the added benefit of being away from all the watching eyes. One slip up in front of a priest and we’d both be dead.

The next morning Jacob and I asked to be taken to the unexplored section of the temple. High Priest Merk was our escort.

“There is a strong warning written in several languages not to enter the crypt area, so none of my priests have broken the seals and dared to enter” Merk explained. The crypt was at least a thousand years old. The newer temple was built on top of the burial chambers about 500 years ago. The crypt had been opened before, but most grave robbers never returned once they entered the crypt.

I noticed that the walls in this area of the temple were carved stone, covered with hauntingly beautiful patterns of interwoven lines and strange writing in a language no one knows. We arrived at an elaborate set of double brass doors. A magical seal keeping the doors closed.

“This is the entrance” Merk told us. He pulled out a scroll and read it. The magical seal opened.

“His lordship and I will no longer need an escort. You may go back to your duties.” I told Merk. The man actually was relieved he did not have to go into the crypt. I opened the double doors and Jacob and I entered. Once inside, i handed the torch I was carrying to Jacob. Then I snapped the magical seal back in place. I got the torch back and went down the long corridor.

We followed a corridor which opened up to a large chamber. The chamber had arched ceiling that rose to a height of thirty feet. The southwest corner of the chamber held seven plain sarcophagi with wooden coffins stacked between them, many of those rotten and broken open. A large support pillar had a statue of a lizardman in front of it. Bones were scattered everywhere, but of more immediate concern were the skeletons that rushed out from the two passageways in the back of the chamber. They were racing forward to attack us!

I am happy at the thought of exploring the underbelly of the temple, wondering what sort of treasures we could find. I wait a moment as Zetta closed the portal behind us before heading onward.

The chamber we find ourselves is interesting in it's own right. However, I don't have much time to admire the architecture before the two skeletons come running at us with weapons raised. I shifted my footing for a moment before I release two foot long icicles, one at each skeleton. The ice hits them, freezing their motion from the waist down a few feet from us. They chatter their teeth with rage as they try to hack away at the ice with their swords.

I look back at Zetta for a moment before motioning for her to have a turn at them. I see her smile, before she moves forward. A few good hits with her weapon and the skeletons are nothing but a pile of half frozen bones. However, that doesn't seem to be the last of our problems.

A very large gazer appeared hovering in the air between us. It's takes a moment to open it's multiple eyes, growling as it spots me first. Multiple elemental rays strike out from the smaller eyes, trying to strike me down. I deftly move out of the way of most of them, but get singed by a couple. I launch three small round beads at the gazer's large middle eye. The three beads penetrate into the gazer for a second before it ripples and it's insides explode everywhere before collapsing in a messy in the middle of the chamber.

There was barely a moment's pause before a large stone sarcophagus appeared on top of the mess. The heavy stone top flew upward and broke up at it struck one of the walls. A feminine voice cried out as a pair of black fingers appeared on the edges pulling up the occupant.

"Who dares disturb-"

Her question cuts off as she frowns, looking between Zetta and I.

Zetta

Thanks to Jacob’s help I was able to make quick work of the skeletons. The Gazer was a bigger problem, but Jacob was able to defeat it quickly. That was a great thing, because I certainly did not want to fight one of those things.

The stone sarcophagus appearing above the dead gazer body was not normal! The sarcophagus opening itself was also not normal. A super-hot chick coming out of a sarcophagus was expected. I have seen it happen a bunch of times. Just joking! That is very not normal!

Now, I’m not one to get jealous. But there is a snide competition between women, where we allow other women to be beautiful to a point. Other women can be pretty, as long as they’re not too pretty. A woman can be beautiful, but if she is amazingly beautiful. Forget it. We alternate between wanting to be her and, well, hating her.

This woman coming out of the sarcophagus was heart-breakingly beautiful! I was envious. So I said something I normally would not have said. But as I pointed out a bunch of weird not normal things had just happened, so I did not feel too bad about.

“Your looks disturb me! You are so hot, you could be a succubus!” I stated. “What are you doing living in a sarcophagus?”

As the strange demon woman lifts herself up from the sarcophagus, I am left a little speechless by the beauty of her. Well, she is a little more beautiful than Zetta, but I know better than to say anything at this point. I just blink a little as the demoness looks between Zetta and I, her lips pursed together. She taps her long fingers on either side of her sarcophagus, slowly as if she was trying to determine if we were worth talking to.

"You mortals are beneath me to even contemplate your presence, but you have piqued my interest a tiny morsel. I was sleeping, for your information."

Her eyes focus on Zetta, taking her in more fully. She soon lifts up from her bed to her full height, just shy of six foot. With a snap of her fingers on her right hand, she conjures up a fireball, letting it hover there threateningly.

"How dare you compare Lynnira, Queen of the Great Demon King Azarel, to a mere succubus little wench. Now tell me why I shouldn't kill you right now."

That snaps me out of my little freeze, a grin on my face.

"That makes things easy then. That makes you my Queen. I killed the Demon King Azarel, and took his place."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?"

Lynnira's eyes flared with rage as she turned to face me, throwing the fireball at me. I duck the fireball, feeling the heat as it whizzes past. I straighten up once more with a smile.

"I killed Azarel. So that makes you my queen."

It was a long shot, but I was going to stand my ground. After all, I could tell she would be a great addition to have in establishing some sort of foothold.

Letta

“HEY… STOP!! I THINK WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE” I screamed trying to get the Lynnira to listen for a minute. Not sure if it was my reasoned statement or how I offended her with my yelling, but she did not hurl another fireball.

Most Algonians know nothing of the worlds and planes that exist beyond their own. Very few scholars have studied such topics at length, and their writings are locked away in the vaults. All Algonians know the night sky and its familiar constellations. The two moons, Ral and Guthay, are known as well. Ral, a mottled green in color, is the closer of the two moons. Sages who have scried Ral report that it is covered in great green seas and mountain-islands of dizzying heights. Guthay, the smaller and more distant moon, is a golden orb mantled in steaming mists beneath which lie scarlet jungles and marshy seas. Stories tell of ancient moon gates that lead to both Ral and Guthay, but their location has been lost to time.

Beside these facts, most people know nothing more. However, I have learned something of the other planes and realms. Lynnira, had been sent to the shadow realm. A different plane of existence. That is how she could sleep in a coffin for so long without needing food. In the shadow realm there are restless spirits and great cities. There are mighty shadow giants, fearsome nightmare beasts, and many other devils and demons.

Temples and rituals are used to bring the denizens of the Shadow realm to our plane. Shadow realm creatures are hostile to most mortals here and make excellent weapons. But the same magic to go through these barriers between planes, could be used to help Jacob get back to his world. I have heard of a few people who have journeyed across the Astral Sea, through the shadow realm and onto new worlds.

I also remembered what the scripts tells of Lynnira, the Queen of Great Demon King Azarel. She was once a mortal woman and very beautiful. She fell in love with Alldite, the god of good feelings. As in many secret relationships the wife finds out. Alldite’s wife, Isus, soon found out and turned Lynnira into a demon! Isus forced Lynnira to marry Great Demon King Azarel. So Lynnira was working to wipe out everything good from the world, while Alldite was trying to increase good things. They were on opposite sides.

With the death of Demon King Azarel, Lynnira was once again free. She could choose her own path. That is what I suggested to her.

“Queen Lynnira, you are no longer married to Azarel. Jacob maybe your new partner, but he has a very different views of the world. It would be useful if you discussed these before hurling fireballs.” I suggested as I prepared to jump away from any fireballs.

Lynnira had brought up another fireball, ready to throw it at either of us. Her eyes narrowed as her tail whipped back and forth behind her almost angerily. She kept the fireball hovering over her hand as she looked back towards Zetta after hearing her words now.

While she had been married to Azarel, she had been soul-bonded to him as well. She was always aware of his presence in some part of her, no matter where he went to. Zetta's words had given her pause, giving her time to stop. She pursed her lips as she looked between Zetta and I. She was reaching out, trying to determine if those words were true. A slow smile came to her face as she felt as if she was free of a burden she didn't realize she truly had.

"Perhaps it is as you say."

She looked at me for a moment before turning and walking over towards Zetta. The fireball continued to hover above her left palm down at her waist, as if threatening to release it despist her demenure. Her tail whipped back and forth behind her, her body swaying seductively as she moved.

"What makes you think I even find you two worth of my attention?"

The demoness stopped in front of Zetta, their chests nearly touching. She leaned closer, whispering in Zetta's ear softly.

"Maybe I should have you both beg to join you."

Her tongue moved out of her small mouth, licking slowly and teasingly along Zetta's right cheek before pulling back. She flicked the fireball away before turning without a word to walk slowly back towards me, the long tail swinging around to slap against Zetta's ass just before she was out of touch.

"My Great King Azarel may be dead, but that doesn't yet give you the right to call me your Queen. Or partner."

Her head turned for a moment to look at Zetta before looking back at me. I just chuckle for a moment.

"So killing your king isn't proof enough for you? What else would you like me to do?"

Lynnira's tail snapped against them floor for a moment as she snarled.

"Kill the damn cult that enslaved me and tried to enslave my King."

Zetta

"Queen Lynnira, killing cult members sounds like a blast” I said. “But there are a few small problems. Most of the members of the All Seeing Eye Cult that summoned The Great Demon Lord Azarel are dead. Jacob killed the great demon and blew up their temple. It was pretty fun to watch. Lots of dead people… very cool.” I explained. Of course, I did not tell Queen Lynnira that as a kitchen assistant to the Cult of the All Seeing Eye, I was a partial member of the cult, but not a full member. She might not appreciate the important difference between a partial and full member. She might just kill me. So I did not tell her.

“As for the cult that trapped you… This place is called the Temple of the Eye. It is a crumbling, vine-choked ruin. The original cultists are no longer here. We don’t even know what forgotten dark god they worshiped. The priests here now, are just care takers. Jacob has already killed their leader.” I explained.

“Might I suggest, we focus on building something. Maybe cleaning this temple up and making it a proper home?” I suggested

Lynnira pursed her lips as she listened to Zetta for a few moments. I couldn't tell what the demoness was thinking, but I raised an eyebrow for a moment when a smile crawled across her face.

"Just because you killed one arm of the beast, doesn't mean you destroyed the whole thing. Besides..."

She lifted a finger and pointed to the temple above them.

"Just because you killed one leader, doesn't mean another will take their place. I believe they are just an extension of the cult you killed, this All Seeing Eye."

She placed her hands on her hips for a moment, putting on a sexy little pose for us. I could tell that Zetta enjoyed it just as much as I did, even if there was a bit of jealousy as well. She finally grinned and lifted a finger as she walked past Zetta, beckoning us to follow. The demoness led us down a very long hallway, disabling a few traps along the way. Stopping in front of a large arched door, she placed her hands on it before looking back with a wicked grin.

"Why settle for some crumbling ruins when the world lies ahead of you, my king and partner?"

She pushed the door open easily before stepping aside to let us past. Inside the room was a sight beyond my wildest dreams. I judged the room to be nearly as wide as the entire temple, the ceiling nearly sixteen feet high. I couldn't tell how far back it was because gold and treasure was piled from floor to ceiling, glimmering and waiting to be taken. I was speechless.

The massive room was littered with gold, silver, gems and valuables. Litter was an awful word to use, to describe such beauty, but it was the correct word. The piles of treasure were everywhere. It hurt my eyes to see all the glints, and colors of the treasure. The place even had the smell of wealth and value. I know that sounds weird, but it was true.

The shame was it just lay in heaps across the room. No one could enjoy any of these valuables, because they had been locked up in this truly huge room. Just to get the stuff out of here, would likely take ages. What a waste of such beautiful items.

I bend down and picked up a large gem. It was a dark green emerald. It had a square cut and was twice the size of a standard gold coin. It was in terrific condition. A gem like this was so rare, it almost beyond a price. As I turn the gem around in my hand, I could tell it had magical properties.

“We could be happy for years with this much wealth. But this treasure will not get you home. Jacob.” I said to him “But it will make you comfortable and it will fund any cost associated with finding a portal between the worlds. Finding you a way home” I stated. I turned to Queen Lynnira.

“Queen Lynnira, is there a catch? Any reason why this treasure has remained untouched for some many years? Are you giving it freely to Jacob?” I asked.

I watched Zetta pick up a large gem, marveling at it. Her words were true, this treasure wouldn't get me home. There was a part of my that didn't want to find a way home, but the whole thought of portal hopping to other worlds did sound like fun.

"You are right that it won't get me home by itself. Though it will most certainly help."

I stay by the door for a moment longer as the demoness gives a little shrug and smile at Zetta's question.

"I guess so. No one has really touched this pile in over a thousand years. I think some centuries old dead king had all his wealth stored here and it was forgotten. You would have thought it would have been discovered by now. No more, it's his for the taking. If he can get it out."

I think for a moment at how things have been operating much like the MMO for me inventory wise. Without a word, I move towards the large pile of gold. As I touch the pile of coins, they all suddenly disappear. I look over to see Zetta's eyes wide as she stares speechless for a moment and Lynnira has raised her eyebrows at the magical act. I hit the box for my inventory and read out the amount.

"I think the 5,345,729,06 gold should be a nice enough start for that. I can't wait till we find out how much the gems and other things are worth."

It takes me a little while, but my inventory seems to be limitless as I get every single piece of treasure into my inventory as the two ladies watch in amazement.

I looked at Jacob as he magically picked up all the treasure. It was amazing. Magic was sometimes beyond belief. Then as he was almost done, I look over to Queen Lynnira and giggled. She, as did I, had thought moving the treasure would be difficult. We had both been wrong.

“I think he figured out a way to pick up all the treasure!” I said to her.

“He is indeed powerful!” She remarked.

Queen Lynnira was right about Jacob’s power and mainly right about the treasure coming from an old dead king. Turns out, the treasure and gold belonged to the empire of Smoybar. It was once a thriving civilization that spanned an entire continent. Forged in a bygone age by mighty god-warriors, it united all the peoples and enforced a lasting peace between them.

However, after several thousand years of growth and prosperity, there was a huge power struggle and the capital was left in ruins. When gods fight, bad things happen. The tales of the empire’s former glory became little more than myth. Jacob’s new treasure would rekindle the stories and show there once was an empire call Smoybar.

I slipped the gem into my pocket. I thought it could come in handy at some point.

“Well… shall we leave the catacomb? And return to the main temple, I think Jacob can afford to buy us all drinks!” I suggested to the group.

I give a laugh for a moment at Zetta's mentioning of being able to buy all of us a round of drinks. That would be an understatement of what we could do with this power and wealth. I grin and nod, motioning both of the ladies towards me. I slip an arm around each, pulling them close as they they both giggling.

"Of course, I think it's time we get out of this dusty old place and get things built up once more."

Lynnira batted her eyes for a moment at me, a little pout on her lips.

"Are we going to leave this temple standing? Even if those cultists are the ones who trapped my ex and I, I still want to get rid of everything associated with them."

I look to Zetta for a moment, who seems a little concerned about the question. I just smile and nod.

"Well, there's nothing like a little destruction before starting to rebuild things. Why not?"

I walk the ladies back towards the magical barrier, both of them leaning against me. Lynnira has one hand resting in the middle of my chest while she has placed the other on Zetta's hip. She pulls away long enough to touch the barrier, shattering it beneath her fingers. There is a yell for a moment as the young priest who led us in earlier finds himself face to face with the Queen.

“High Priest Merk, you seem surprised to see us?” I said with a small amount of disappointment. The poor man had a shocked expression on his face. He was surprised we were back so soon, it had only been a little under an hour. And he was even more surprised that we had a female demon with us. I really could not blame him, I was surprised too!

“Lord Azarel and…” Merk stated as he recovered from his shock. “Queen Lynnira?” He guessed. I nodded to note his guess was correct.

“Welcome back to our plane. How my I serve you?” He asked.

“Lead us back to the main part of the temple. His lordship and his lady wish to share a drink and discuss old times.” I instructed him.

“Yes” He replied as he turned and headed out of the temple.

“High Priest Merk, Queen Lynnira was asking about the origins of your priesthood. Could you provide her some history as it relates to this temple?” I asked him as we walked.

“But of course, note the passageways here” He said pointing his torch towards the wall. “The warnings are written in several languages, based upon the languages, we believe the crypt is at least a thousand years old. The newer temple was built on top of the burial chambers about 500 years ago.” He said.

“Could it have been built during Smoybar empire?” I asked.

“Yes… but we are not sure there was any empire called Smoybar” Merk replied.

“And when was your “Temple of the Eye” cult formed?” I asked.

“The cult was formed about 20 years ago. Shortly after this temple was found in the jungle. The enormous, hideous eye carved in the wall above the black stone altar spoke of power. A group of priests knew this demon was worthy of their time and effort. The first generation of priests worked hard to figure out the forgotten dark god’s name. Excuse our delay, Lord Azarel.” Merk said.

“And what is your cult trying to do?” I asked Merk.

“There are many secretive cults that worships different demon lords across the land. Our cult was seeking to elevate the demon worshiped at this temple to godhood. We used our prays and sacrifices, to increase his status and power. It was hoped Lord Azarel would be brought to the mortal plane via the ritual summoning chamber. We did not know Queen Lynnira was imprisoned in this temple.” Merk explained. “With you both free, perhaps the ritual summoning chamber is no longer needed?”

“Lord Azarel and his queen have need of the ritual summoning chamber. You are to finish it” I commanded Merk.

“Understood” He replied.

They entered the newer part of the temple and it was easy to see it was only about 500 years old.

“Lord Azarel or Queen Lynnira, anymore questions for High Priest Merk, before he gets us something to drink?” I asked Jacob and Lynnira.
