Strange Land (Take 2)

Vixen stepped forward. "Please tell me, do you have a good taylor here? I am in desperate need of clothes..." She growled at Nyte who smirked at her.

"Indeed fair maiden... we have the very best there is... I'm sure she will be pleased to help you... come enter ENTER!" The group stepped forward. Vixen openly curious, looked around... squinting... when the young child-like creatures ran up to her she grinned and knelt down... answering their mindless chatter easily.

Nyte hissed at them impatiently causing them to squeal in fright. Vixen smiled at them and said, "don't worry, she's an evil witch, but she won't hurt you if you stay away..." Nyte whispered under her breath, "hussy..." Vixen's eyes flashed in response but she managed to control herself.

::nyte muttered:: evil witch, ill show you evil witch.

::she smiled sweetly, taking favard from bre:: Hey vixen, want a cashmere scarf to go with your new clothes? ::she threw her favard, who then perked up and smiled right in vixen's face showing all 6 rows of teeth::

:vixen dropped favard and shrieked in bloody murder. she then literally jumped into sith's arms still shrieking about favard:: Kill it! kill it!

::bre bit back a laugh as she collected her pet. nyte looked up as aric frowned at her:: Kassandraaaaaaa ::he said in that 'im so disappointed" voice of his.

::shakes his head slowly, yes that was childish but he knew better then to actually get in the way of it:: For now it seems we've found a place to recoup ourselves... let's at least TRY not to make ourselves unwelcome in the first 50 seconds, hmmmm?

Vixen's eyes glinted at Aric. She hadn't forgotten she owed that particular gentleman a well deserved kick in the privates. She slipped out of Sith's arms slowly, seeing that the little pest actually seemed to be under control. She scowled at her loss of control. "Hmph," she said, flicking her hair over one shoulder, "well, nice of you to prove yourself a witch to one an all Ms Leech!"

Before Nyte could hiss back a retort she and Sith were lead away by one of the elven children to find the taylor. The elf that had greeted them beckoned them inside. "Rooms have been made ready for you all... we shall gather tonight for a feast of celebration!"

OOC: I am happy about Gimli:) but I want to know how the hell I am caught in limbo and when I will get out.

::still a bit woozy from passing out:: Could we perhaps all be allowed a chance to wash the travel dust from us and all get new clothing? I feel much too grimy to be royalty right now... ::gives the lord of the castle a wan smile::

Garret (who was on vacation, thanks for not leaving me in limbo) sheathed his sword. It seemed he wasn't going to finish his tests today. He followed the rest of the group, somehow feeling that he belonged with them. Few things Garret ever belonged to anymore.
Theses people were like his friends, although he didn't know any of their names. Oh well, introductions will be held later, for now inside a huge castle, Garret felt he should keep his mouth closed, and his eyes open.
Garret recognized Vixen, she had been to his village a year or so ago, he remembered grooming and watering her horse. Being as it was a small village, strangers were usually long remembered, he wondered if she recognized him, probably didn't, with adventures like figthing a skyline of dragons and vanishing into thin air, she probably forgot little people like him.
Garret kept close to her anyway, making sure he didn't get lost. A person could easily get lost in a place liks this.

OOC: I want to know how the hell I am caught in limbo and when I will get out.

OOC: Joreth got caught in limbo by being at the edge of Bre's transport spell. Joreth got partially pulled along but not fully like the others. Being in Between means Joreth is neither here nor there and no one can see or hear him. Right now the way the string reads your char is permanently stuck in between. NO ONE can get him out. (See Aric's comment about Between) IF you show you can act civilized in the other strings we MIGHT put our heads together and write you back in this one.

Vixen, Sith and Garret were lead to a large room where several seamstresses gathered around them in a chatter. Vixen was very precise about what she required. The girls chattered happily, excited by the chance to create an outfit like she described. "And for the gentlemen too?" One of them asked Vixen. Vixen looked over at Sith and Garret. "Yes... indeed... they definitely need a make-over..." Vixen's smile was full of mischief. Sith looked at her a bit worriedly. Garret looked a bit nervous himself, but seemed happy enough to let the women fuss over his measurements.

"A new oufit? No, I dont..."
Garret looked at himself. He didn't look like a warrior, much less a man, a yellowed shirt, 2 sizes too big, pants that were barely called leather, and a few straps. He frowned, everyone else had warrior's uniforms, and here he was, in some farmer piece of crap.
He pulled one of the woman aside, "All right. I want a good outfit, whatever you can make, I don't mind about that, but I need a cloak. Black, not leather, a fine garment, able to withstand the weather. I want a 3 inch slit in the back, for my sword, and a few secret pockets. I also want two pockets in the sleeves themselves."
Garret saw her go off, getting ready to work.
"Oh, and one more thing," she turned back.
"Thank you, so much."
She smiled, then went on her way. The others finished taking the measurements, he smiled. No one had ever really done anything to him before. This was definitally interesing.
Garret felt good, felt like he belonged.

"Yes, I will need a new outfit, Vixen." he said looking at her "because you managed to get the one I lent you ruined in our little foray with the hellkite..."

Sith then went on to describe exactly the same dark, hot but thin outfit he had lent Vixen.

"Whilst they make the outfit, could you please tell me what you exactly felt the moment that you awoke and discovered you where trapped in the Mountains?" he asked Garret and Vixen. The way he had said 'exactly' sounded like a menace.

Vixen poked her tongue out at Sith in a very childish manner. "Honestly... always grumbling Mr. Snake..." she teased him.

At his precise question Vixen noted the young man... Garret... shiver. "Don't worry... he can be such a grouch when he starts on his studies and theories... " Vixen scrunched up her nose, clearly not as impressed by learning as Sith seemed to be.

"Why do ya wanna know anyway? We're out now... what's the difference? AND, if you didn't want your precious cloak destroyed, you should've know better... when have I ever managed to keep my clothing in one piece hmmm?" Vixen nodded haughtily before stretching and yawning loudly. "'m tired..." she added. "Wonder what kinda food they have here..."
"Vixen!" Sith interrupted her, "it IS important..." He sighed with exhasperation at her lack of attention, "please try and remember... please?"
Vixen frowned at this entreaty. "Well..." she pouted... "okay if it's THAT important to you..."

Garret looked at Sith, there was something about this guy he didn't fully trust, but he didn't fully distrust either.
"It is a custom of my people," Garret began, "That before anyone is declared a man they must venture up into the mountains and slay a dragon."
Garret took out a talisman.
"This talisman, when held in front of a cave far above my village, but far below the mountains becomes a gateway to another cave in the mountains themselves. We are given this to venture on our quest. We must come back with a heart of a dragon or we are deemed unworthy by our village elders. Thats what I was doing up there, I was trying to fulfill my quest."
Garret stood up, as the maid entered holding his clothes. He tried them on, a perect fit, good enough to be buried in. Garret swallowed, that might just be the case in the near future.
"The talisman, may I see it?"
Garret took the talisman from his neck, and handed it over to Sith. He then put on the cloak, it fit like a glove, concealing everything on his person, yet still wasn't bulgy itself.
Garret checked the pockets, they were all there, like he asked. He was very pleased.
Another maid came in with Vixen's clothes, and a third with Siths.
A maid asked him if he needed anything else.
"Yes," Garret replied, "I need..." he whispered a bunch of ingrediants into her ear. She looked at him, puzzled, then ran off. Garret smiled.
"Fascinating," Sith said, handing back the talisman. Garret put it back around his neck.
"What's that?" he asked.

::Brenna, mean while luxuates in a bath that was offered to her soaking her self in steaming hot water with scented oil added in, she sips a glass of wine slowly enjoying her bath as she waits for her new cloths to be brought:: ahhh now this is nice... ::She glances over to Nyte enjoying the same luxuary:: I could get used to this. How about you?

::nyte purrs:: now all we need is aric to entertain us ::winks and grins wickedly:: oo where is that man?

::quietly he wanders around the castle, shadowmancy did work well to avoid the guards in this place, slipping between them he could manage to get into so many places normally inaccessable, he watched the goings on of this place, hardly so trusting of the "courteous offer", maybe it was his paranoid nature... but he smelled something funny going on::

Hey! You there! ::eek:h heavens, a guard had spotted him mulling about in the armory, with a slight mutter he turns and runs off down a hallway, the guard drawing his sword follows in pursuit, grinning as he knows that particular hall is a dead end::

::blinking he stops at the wall face, cursing his luck, he looks up and sees a lone window way too high to reach and certainly way too small to climb through, the guard's footsteps start to come close and he decides in a moment::

::the guard jumps around the corner, sword brandished:: Ah hah! Huh? ::and the hallway lies empty, the sword lowers in confusion as he hears a chirp, head snapping up to catch the image of a dove perched on the window before fluttering out::

Sith turned to Vixen and said "Yes, you are right, I should have kept the coat, that way it would still be in one piece, and it would be your skin the one that got roasted and ripped." he said with a small smile.

"I respect most of other people's customs", started Sith as he stared at Garrett, "but the one in your town is completely and uterly stupid. Unless the dragon is a drake, a young or small dragon, it would be suicide to send a young warrior alone against such a mighty and powerful being."
Changing his line of talk without much problem he went on "What are the exact properties of the talisman? I would have to study it for some time to find them, so it would be faster if you just told me."

Vixen scowled at Sith's blase comment about her skin. She was unwilling to admit... even to a good friend like him... how much he appreciated his kind protectiveness. She almost stomped her foot in frustration as she listened to him easily change his topic of conversation to that of the academic again.

"Honestly!" She huffed, he could be such a bore sometimes. She allowed herself to smile at him fondly before she skipped over to the head seamstress for a quick adjustment to her clothing. She scampered back noting that Garret and Sith were still talking... she butted in... "she told me of a lake down in the gardens... it's surrounded by heavily scented trees which add their natural oils to the water itself, it's suppossed to be very invigorating, they have hot baths here too but I'm gonna check out that lake... you wanna come with?" She didn't wait for them to answer. She grabbed up a thick piece of cloth for a towel and her new clothes and skipped off down the hall to the rear doorway which leads to the gardens.

Garret saw the maid bring back the ingrediants he asked. He quickly made up a batch of soothing liquid, then he took the knife, and with one cut on his finger, he put two drops of blood into the stuff. It turned a refreshing green. He put it into a bottle.
"Here," he said, giving it back to the maid, "Give this to Nyte. Tell her it is from Garret, and that it is an herbal medicine to help heal her wound. Tell her that I am sorry for shooting her as well."
The woman bowed, then ran off, Garret turned his attention towards Sith.
"There are many religions on this and other worlds which do not make sense. I do not know all of them, nor do I expect to change their beliefs, but I do know that I want to be considered a man in my village, and I need to kill a dragon in order to do that."
Sith nodded. Garret took off the talisman a second time, "As for this, I don't know how it got it's powers, or where they came from. I do not mind if you take it to do your tests, as long as I get it back with no harm done. As for me, I am going swimming."
With that said, he took off his new clothes, except for his underwear and grabbed a cloth strip. He followed Vixen out.

::nyte took the potion and sniffed it cautiously, still unsure of it. it smelled safe but she wasnt so sure. ah well if it harmed her she could always kill garrett later. she dabbed some on the half healed wound and bandaged it up, changing to slip into a gown she had brought in her pack::

::she smirked as she fastioned her blade to her hip, sure it didnt go with the outfit but why let the blade out of her sight. she saw a bird flutter down the hallway, then shift back into the form of aric::

::nyte slipped up behind him, gently drinking from him. he stiffened at first then calmed sensing his lover. nyte gave him a playful nipp then asked:: so what trouble are you trying to find aric?

::a blink, muttering lightly:: I was just looking about... you know me and my need to fine-comb every detail... and I thought I have asked you to warn me before you do that, hmmm?

_A hot bath... hot, hot, hot._ Those where the thoughts of Sith as he followed Vixen and Garrett to the bath. He hoped it was really hot, snakemen where fond of heat. And after the hot bath, he would dwelve deep into the study of the talisman. That would take him almost 8 hours, but it would be worth the new knowledge he would get. If the talisman was a protection against dragons, he was interested in knowing it all, after all, dragons where far cousins of snakemen.

::Bre rises from her bath and dons her new cloths and steps out into the hall in time to see Nyte "catching a quick snack" grinning she walks over:: hey you two... well Aric, I assume you've combed the place over throughly? Do you want your bath now and a nap or do we need to plot to keep our skins?

Garret ran and jumped.
"CANNON BALL"
He splashed into the water. The first thought that came to his head was hot. The water was really hot, almost boling hot. Garret ouched and owed til he went over to the side. IT was cooler on the side, he finally relaxed.
Vixen looked at him.
"What?"
"You splashed me."
Garret gave a sad look, "I am sorry."
"You better be, I know how to kill a man 319 ways."
Garret gulped, but was interested, "Whats the weirdest way to kill a man."
She came closer to him, "I breathed on him. There is a spot on the human body that if you breath just right, he will die."
she then threw her head back, laughing. Garret smiled too, not knowing if it was a joke or not, but he didn't want to find out.
Garret relaxed in the pool, letting his mind go. He finally felt comfortable with the world, and everything in it.
