A condom only works to prevent pregnancy if you're wearing it while you come. After you come, while you're still in side her, hold on to the condom by pressing it with your fingers against your dick, then pull your dick out with the condom still on, and then dispose of the condom after you pull out.

The point is to prevent your come coming in contact with the inside of her vagina.

In addition to LadyJeanne's and the site's advice, I'd suggest you ensure your partner(s) are using another form of birth control, whether it be the pill, patch, NuvaRing, something with spermicide, etc. If a condom falls off or breaks (which usually doesn't happen when you're using them correctly), she can do Plan B/Emergency Contraception, but your best bet is to go the preventative route by ALWAYS (even when your dick is near her) using condoms AND a backup method.

I agree, but make sure you both test the spermicide BEFORE you're planning on having sex (i.e. at least a few days before when you're not going to have sex). Many people are allergic or find it incredibly irritating, and little is less arousing than feeling like your genitals have been set on fire and rubbed raw with sandpaper. Spermicide can also trigger vaginitis and yeast infections for some women because it's a detergent that can upset the natural balance of the vagina.

Also, I believe with every spermicidal product apart from the Today Sponge, you're only supposed to use it once in a 24-hour period, so if you think you may have sex more than once a day, you'll need to find another back up method. So, it can be a good option, but give it a try beforehand, and ensure it'll fit in with your behavior.

Well I think you can do both, explain safe sex and tell your kids NOT to have sex. Why would you want to tell them that? I'll jsut say religious beliefs and let it go at that.

My point though is that most religious families I know don't even tell there kids NOT to have sex. Hell I believe that if you tell your kids why you don't think they should have sex and they understand that, they stand a better chance of not doing it than if you just say DON'T DO IT!

well, i think they should teach safe sex in schools, but i think they also need to make kids stop thinking its uncool to be a virgin, there's kids these days getting bullied for being virgins, and thats just wrong. they need to say to these kids that they shouldn't have sex until they're legally old enough, and they should say but when you do start having sex, to make sure you're ready for it, and not because you're being pressured into it, and to make sure that you're safe

i had sex education at school when i was 10, and it was all about how babies are made. i was about 16 when they started talking about condoms and the pill etc, and being safe from diseases and what diseases were around. these days people are having sex at 14, so at 16 its a bit late IMO, alot of girls will be pregnant before they learn about sex ed at school.

I'm only kidding. I don't think it's stupid at all to worry about pregnancy. More people should be responsible like yourself. I'd be terrified about getting someone pregnant so I feel for you. If I cast my mind way back to sex ed in school, I believe the only way to be just about completely safe is condoms (properly used) and spermicide (as already mentioned). And when you've popped off in her, grip the penis thereby holding the condom firmly in place and pull out, tie a knot in it and dispose, throw it at the neighbors windows or something like that. It sticks, it's funny.

Now, that's not really fair. As the above folks made clear, a lot of schools these days don't teach you jack shit about safe sex -- they just try to hammer it into your head not to do it.

And what better way to encourage someone to do something, than by telling them not to, when all their friends talk about how great it is?

Parents are blowing off the responsibility of talking to their kids about it (I know mine just gave me a book on how babies were made, and called that good enough, then got upset over how graphic my sex ed classes were) and a lot of schools refuse to actually tell you how to be safe about it.

If parents won't talk, and schools won't talk, how's the guy supposed to know the *right* way to do it? At least he asked, he coulda just gone ahead and done it and probably gotten himself in an assload of trouble for it.
