Super 8mm to DVD

Does anyone know or has used a USA company that will transfer super 8mm films to DVD (disks). The films are explicit and graphic, but no kiddie, animal, scat or watersports.

Why not transfer them yourself. There are a number of dvd writers on the market for less than $300 that connect to your PC via a USB port that will do a nice job. I have an HP dc3000 and have converted many of my 8mm video tapes to dvd with very professional results.

I bought a USB Instant DVD Converter from www.tigerdirect.com (less than $100). You plug your video camera into it and turn it on and press play and open the program on your PC that comes with the unit and presss record and it makes MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files that can be burned to VCD or DVD. It's really simple.

At this point the max price you need to pay for a good DVD burner is $180 with models starting at $100.

I would go for the $130 to $180 range and get an 8X DVD+R drive, these are usally 8X DVD+R, 4X DVD+R, 4X DVD-R, 2/4X DVD-RW.

You can also look at http://www.pricewatch.com which is basically a website that allows computer stores to list their inventory.

Make sure you get good media, it makes the difference between beautiful video and junk (dvdrhelp.com has reviews on media too).

You may also need a video capture card, if you have a newer digital camcorder some of them have what are called passthru ports that allow you to capture analog video through the digital camera. Your camera may also have a firewire port on it in which case you just need a firewire port/card on your PC.

Make sure you have plenty of hard drive space and you should be good to go, you can also look in yahoo and google's directories for adult film development and video specialists if you don't want to bother.
