Ron 28 years old 6’2 210 pounds blonde hair and blue eyes. Very physically fit as well as martial arts expert. He also speaks 4 languages. 6 years in the Army as a Ranger. The last 5 years in the CIA. He mostly has done assassin work. He is also an expert with most any type of gun, from hand gun 38 or 44 to a AR15 to a sniper rifle. He learned shooting back in Kentucky at the age of 6. He spent as much time shooting daily as running and getting ready to go in the military, his lifelong dream. The CIA was a bonus to serve his country.

What he hadn’t planned on was being a part of a program strictly for assassinations. He would be given the target and given usually less than a week to fulfill his mission. After five years of this he came upon a target that snapped him back into reality. He went rogue to work on clearing his name and uncovering this illegal branch of the CIA known as Omega.

He intercepts a transmission that he is being hunted by a top female CIA agent. He does all he can to stay ahead of her. It comes out that she is actually a double agent. The CIA do a hit on her husband of some years and make it look like it was Ron. They also put the hit out on her as she came from a special KGB program designed to bred super agents. They even have plants pose as her parents in the U.S. when they felt she was ready. As she is dealing with memories all of a sudden as to her true identity, Ron contacts her for a meet.

By cell phone.
“Look I know you want to kill me. I tell I didn’t kill Carl. I am your best ally right now. Meet me in the uptown park at 11:30.” He states and disconnects.

He knows she is in trouble as much as him. He also knows this is a win-win situation. They are pinning stolen information and the murder of 2 CIA agents on her. She will blame him and want to kill him for that as well as for her husband being murdered.

Eveline Voikevich

"Evy," his arms wrapped around her small body. "Evy, Evy. Why is it you never smile?"

The brunette closed her eyes as she sat upon an apartment building roof. Her legs dangled over the edge. It would've been so easy to fall. So easy just to end it all. But... there was someone she had to kill first. Someone who needed to fall by her hand. Picking up the file next to her, Eveline looked over the name and picture burned into her memory. Ron. Age 28. Rogue CIA. Her husband's killer. The Russian female put the file back down.

She had come from a small place in Russia, not marked on any map, not known to anyone but one person in the whole Russian government. Raised and born to serve their country until the end. She had been... the pale female could not remember, her light brown eyes cold as ice. Her chocolate brown hair was pulled up into a ponytail. Eveline... had been one of the smallest agents in her class. No doubt, others still towered over her 5'5" frame.

Then again, she hadn't been focusing on making her self tall. Not, she was much too busy making her body flexible, agile, and even made for speed. Closing her eyes, she let the tension from her body leave with her breath. Rarely did she have time to relax. Someone had outed her as a foreign agent... a spy. This was horrible. But little did anyone know that she was a double agent. It was the only way possible to complete the mission programed into her mind. Only two days ago, she overheard the radio saying that she had killed two agents. Eveline could not recall such a thing happening.

Then her phone vibrated, picking it up, she didn't say a word as the man spoke.

“Look I know you want to kill me. I tell I didn’t kill Carl. I am your best ally right now. Meet me in the uptown park at 11:30.”

Eveline snapped it closed and stood up, taking file and all. Well, if he wanted to make it easy for her, why not come? A wicked smile danced across her face as she made it down the fire escape, taking down the ponytail and throwing her hoodie up. No need for anyone to immediately recognize her. Why not think her a rebellious teen?

Her thoughts wondered as she walked toward the uptown park. He didn't kill Carl, eh? Well then, looks like she would have to beat the truth out of him.

It was 11:28 as he approached uptown park. He had a disguise but it was unlikely that he would fool her. He was dressed as a bum and walked with a limp.

He spotted a woman in a hoodie. It could be a teen girl but he was trained to spot and identify the minute details to pick out when an assassin is in disguise. He knew it was her. He walked to a secluded area and left himself wide open. He had to do a show of faith.
“Eveline…it is me Ron. We worked together on a couple of missions in Paris and Berlin together. Posed as husband and wife to assassinate the target.” He said and she quickly pulled out her assassin pistol and put three shots in his chest.

He fell to the ground on his back immediately. He was wearing his bulletproof vest of course. As she walked to him, he opened his eyes and kicked away the pistol then wrapped his leg around hers to take her down. They wrestled on the ground exchanging punches before they separated.

“They framed me as they just did with you. I killed people Eve…but not the Prime Minister and his family. There is a assassin organization called Omega doing these hits likely did your husband, Carl. They work in the U.S. as well.” He said and they exchanged karate kicks and punches. Even flipped Ron to his back and kicked him in the ribs. Then she punched him in the face. Ron flipped her of him as blood trickled down from his nose. He engaged her again and kicked her in the stomach then in the face before he tried a choke hold from behind. She flipped him off. At that point Ron heard cars pulling up.

“We need to get out of here.” He said as about a dozen CIA agents converged with weapons drawn. Ron came over and shoved Eveline through the bushes and took her pistol and was drawing the gun fire before they realized where she had gone possibly taking one of the black SUVs. Ron took a bullet in his leg only graze shot though, but managed to get to the river and leap in. He stayed under water forever before he made it to a safe part of he shore on the other side.

She had spotted him in that get up. The moment she arrived, she spotted him. She allowed her body to relax, a hand loosely curled around that pistol. Searching around, she pretended she didn't see him. Then, he made things easier for her once more. He stepped into a secluded area, but left himself wide open.. What a lovely gift, she mentally thought. A wicked smile danced on her lips once more. It wasn’t even Christmas or her birthday!

“Eveline…it is me Ron. We worked together on a couple of missions in Paris and Berlin together. Posed as husband and wife to assassinate the target.”

The moment he finished, her eyes dancing with hatred, she pulled out her weapon and shot him. Eveline remembered when they posed together. She remembered when they worked together. It had been one of the hard things to figure out. He didn’t seem the type to just pull the trigger on the innocent. Even if it was sanctioned by the CIA. But rage and anger are not rational things. Grief and sorrow do not care what situations they are involved in. Perhaps, worst of all, is when the person themselves, find they no longer have use for pointless, meaningless words. There is no need to communicate with the living… and no way to communicate with the dead.

As he fell, she walked over to him, gun pointed at his head. Eveline was just about to pull the trigger when her legs were bringing her down. She used her hands to take most of the impact before she lunged at him, wrestling for the pistol which just lay so temptingly out of reach. But before her hands could wrap around the familiar metal, she was forced to break away. Jumping to her feet, her eyes narrowed.

“They framed me as they just did with you. I killed people Eve…but not the Prime Minister and his family. There is a assassin organization called Alpha Omega doing these hits likely did your husband, Carl. They work in the U.S. as well.”

“I know of Omega,” she replied. Oh yes, secretly, or so she had thought, Eveline had downloaded everything into a USB. Of course her mind connected Carl’s death with the download. But it didn’t matter. “My husband was NOT involved. He was an innocent,” she spoke through gritted teeth. “His death would have achieved nothing!” She did not care for the Prime Minister—she had never the choice. “I do not care of your past. I only care to paint the walls with your blood!” Clearly, not as stable a woman as you might think.

They exchanged blows once more, but Eve managed to flip the much heavier man over her shoulder. It was no mean feat either. She had used his own weight and strength against him. It was the only way Eveline could find in a match of strength. She did not have much of her own. She kicked him several times in the ribs, pouring all her rage into her small foot. Then pulling Ron up by the collar of his shirt, she punched his damn American nose.

She fell down a second time when his leg collided into her tummy. Oh, that was bloody murder. But the face… she felt nothing. Her body couldn’t seem to register the pain and filed it away for later. She prepared herself for a chokehold, and managed to flip him off.

Oh how Eveline hated the sounds of sirens.

“We need to get out of here.”

He rudely pushed her over the bushes. Her head was only an inch away from a protruding stone. Not wasting another second, Eveline used the distraction to steal one of their SUVs. Hell, she wasn’t going to get involved in this battle! Not caring for the man named Ron, she sped into oncoming traffic. The girl wondered where she would be able to dump the vechicle.

“Probably has a damned tracking device,” she muttered under her breath, as shiny things in the passenger side caught her eye. Oh, this was turning into a wonderful day, after all! The silly CIA had left precious… no, she would not be taking them. But tampering? Of course! Turning into an alley, she quickly parked it and smiled. Oh Ron, he had gotten away free today. But next time… she would be prepared.

Her hands worked quickly on the equipment, taking out the memory and batteries, before ensuring that her prints would not be found. Sliding out, she took the keys and threw them into a homeless man’s lap.

“Take it,” she said, easily, not stopping her walk. Right now, she needed to get back to her new 'home' and sort through the USB. Once everything was confirmed...

Yes, she would make sure he would… go kaboom.

Are you fucking kidding me? She shot me and that is not even what pisses me off. She punched me in the nose and got blood on my jacket. I am trying to help her. Well that is it, I am alone…next time we meet I will put a bullet between her eyes. As she should have done if she is as good as I have heard. We are always talked about as the top two in the CIA and only one other is in our class worldwide.

He swims to shore and hurries to jump in the back of a truck. He takes it much like some would take a taxi until he is ready to hop out and move toward his safe house. He is very alert or cameras and anyone watching him as he moves. He goes into a back alley and climbs the stairs to reach the flop room he was renting by the night. He figured he had not even a day left before they found him.

He just thought higher of Eveline. Maybe she was in fact a former KGB robot of some kind programmed to come here and do some type of mission. He had his one issues to worry about though like clearing his name. As he thought, he knew the only place he could go was to Baltimore. His old friend a former congressman moved there after retiring from politics.

So, as it got dark Ron packed up his bags and left. He hot wired a car and headed out of the city. He avoided the road blocks by changing cars and using a train once or twice for transportation. He did a fake of making it look like he was going back to Kentucky but he came back around to Baltimore.

He met with the wife of his friend, Jack Evans. She told him that Jack had died in a suspicious car accident. He went to Jack’s computer and realized it had been taken and replaced. He smiled as he knew Jack. The congressman mentored him to go and serve his country. He was less than excited about the CIA but told Ron he was his friend always. Ron wet out to the barn and opened a secret compartment under the seat of his riding lawn mower was a set of discs. He needed to get out of there and fire up his laptop to see what Jack had. He was just hoping Jack could help him with who he might think was behind all of this.

Ron got on a motorcycle and rode to a broken down old motel and checked in for the night then got his laptop working. His jaw dropped as he looked at File: Worlds Collide X. “EVELINE!” he said in shock and anger.

He would have to kill to prevent her dastardly plot. His isues were on hold or maybe....related he thought to himself.

Eveline had made it safely to her makeshift home. But she knew she only had hours before they found here. If someone knew where she and Ron had met, then soon they’d find out where she lived. Packing only want she needed, she packed them into a bag. Her clothes came off and she put on a new set. A black long sleeved shirt framed her body as she grabbed her button up shirt and put it over the long sleeves. She put huge headphones around her neck, letting the cord slip into the bag. Black jeans with converse finished it up. She looked like one of those gamers who… well, only lived for games.

Grabbing what she wouldn’t be taking, she gave them to the people who lived around her. “Oh, I was going to give them to charity,” she told them. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. Oh, Mrs. Phillips, could you please watch Indy while I’m gone?” Indy was her pet parrot who could mimick other people. She just loved how it freaked everyone out. And it was sure to freak those who came looking for her. The USB was firmly around her neck. She’d have to move quickly.

Jack Evans, a lovely man, had always known she wasn’t as she appeared. In fact, he had found out about her mission without her knowing. When the congressman had confronted her, she said nothing but avoiding the innocent. Eveline could have been a brainwashed child, but she was never for hurting those who were involved. When she asked about the mission, all they told her that it was for the safety and security of the Russian people. And let’s just say… you don’t ask anymore.

Hoping into a train, she found a nicely secluded seat, her back toward the wall, so no one could see her computer screen. Taking the laptop out, she typed him several passwords and identity answers. The computer screen greeted her. Her hands phones had been plugged in.

“Go
od Morning, Eveline.”

She began to type. “Decrypt USB.”

“Please wait one moment.”

When Jack had asked her if she could get her hands on the files, she told him she had no idea where they could be. Eveline was not one to lie. She may not tell you or not want to give it up, but she wouldn’t lie. It went… against her programming. So to speak. Her eyes closed as she remembered receiving the news that Jack had died. Truth of the matter was that they had sent her to do the job. She had blown up his car but… he had not been in it. It had been the Jackal who finished the job. Eveline shivered at the top. If she had been the top female, he was the top male. And he was more brutal than her. Shaking her head, she blinked when the computer screen flashed.

“Process complete. USB – Worlds Collide X.
Subject: Eveline Voikevich aka Emily Volker.
Would you like to access file?
[Y/N]'"

Eve pressed ‘Y’ and noticed files popping up at her. Names with everything about them. Her eyes focused on a particular file. Carl Volker. As she clicked his name, the words ‘DECEASED’ gripped her heart. As she read through it, a particular note struck her. ‘Agent planted Agent Ron’s fingerprints and DNA on crime scene. Supposed suicide. Jackal acquired hit.’

Eveline couldn’t believe what she was reading. It… it was Ron? Guilt ate up at her, her face in her hands. How could she be so stupid? Why didn’t she check into the facts. Shaking her head, she remembered the director telling her that Ron had killed Carl. As her mind focused on it, she started to think it. What was she missing here.

Then she looked at her phone. Could she… chance it? Not reading the rest of the file, she picked it up and dialed.

“Meet me at the train station in Baltimore station… I wish to apologize for my actions earlier,” she said, then paused on the phone looking at her watch, the seconds tick by. “Look, meet me there and we can talk.” With that, she hung up and threw the phone out of the train window. No need for anyone to track her. The rest of the ride was quiet, her just reading and memorizing everything from the USB. On the final page, her eyes stopped, fear gripping her.

“Mission is to go on as plan—frame Evy, while secretly lunching nuclear. Eliminate all. All lives are worthless. America must fall. Side Mission: Kill Ron—Jackal. Evy is not as high a propriety. Keep alive for information and knowledge the Americans have been giving her. ALERT: DOUBLE AGENT.

Eveline had blank look on her face as she closed the laptop. Damn, how did they find out? Putting it away, she stood up and exit the train. Right now, she was here to meet Ron and then... apologize to Evan's wife. She owed the woman that much. The Russian let out a sigh, everything was coming too fast, too close. Her mind had not been able to process everything yet. Minus the fact she hadn't slept in four days.

Her eyes scanned the crowd for his, her body tense and on high alert. No doubt, he'd tried to kill her. And she didn't trust him, but she needed to get her hands on Evans file.

"This is suicide," she muttered. But where else could she go?

Ron tried to decipher the documents that point toward a scheme to assassinate the Director of Homeland Security then get inside and launch a nuclear missile against China. This had names of arms dealers and others that would profit from a war. At the top of the page is “Double Agent”. His long time friend had been investigating a conspiracy of a program ran by the KGB to infiltrate the CIA and other parts of National Security. Damn it if Eveline wasn’t a prime suspect. The question was who was her handler so to speak and helped her get in?

He nearly picked up his laptop and threw it. His cell phone rang, it was her but he listened,
“Meet me at the train station in Baltimore station… I wish to apologize for my actions earlier….Look, meet me there and we can talk.” She then disconnected.

He would meet her and kill her this time. This “Worlds Collide X” file proves she is a traitor and a mercenary piece of crap. He knew that she ranked among the best assassins in the world. He was included in that company along with the mysterious Jackal. The jackal was a known gun for hire. He or she was very expensive but also got the job done very time precisely. He had one or two altercations with who thought the Jackal was but the person got away each time after shots were exchanged. He was told to back off and leave the person alone. Very mysterious when this comes from the top of the CIA.

He read a little more and then packed up. It was time to ditch the cell phone. He got on the motor cycle and rode back toward Baltimore for more answers and to kill the double agent.

He hid his bags in a locker at the train station and changed his clothes and everything to an elderly older African-American man with a cane. His mistake before was just posing as a bum, he was still Caucasian and of course it gave him away the place. He hid his pistol in his pocket as he limped over to the north side of the station. He figured the least amount of people. Even in disguise he spotted Eveline. He hit her from behind with a blackjack and pulled her into an unoccupied room off to the side.

He pulled out his pistol and took off his disguise. He circled her as she kipped up and also circled him.
“You are going to die Eveline. I was wrong you are not a victim here. You probably killed Carl yourself. I know you are a KGB plant and your mission to start a war. I just need to know who else is in on this. Who is the other KGB plant? Did you kill Jack Evans? Answer me!” He says demanding.

He took his other hand off the gun only for a moment as she kicked it out of his hand and flipped him. He rolled through being flipped and hopped back on his feet.
“I know your good Eveline but I am actually better without a gun…that is saying something since I was a sniper in the Army. So lets do this.” He says challenging her.

He could taste blood and wanted to hurt her besides kill her. The thought that maybe she killed Jack pissed him off more.

Her world was black for a moment.

Then she woke up to see him and jumped to her feet. She wasn’t totally unarmed but she wasn’t about to go kill the man. Before she could say anything, he started. “You are going to die Eveline. I was wrong you are not a victim here. You probably killed Carl yourself. I know you are a KGB plant and your mission to start a war. I just need to know who else is in on this. Who is the other KGB plant? Did you kill Jack Evans? Answer me!”

“Bloody hell I’m not the victim,” she snapped, replying back, trying to stay out of his reach. Then he spoke of her husband. Her arms went down, and she left herself open. “Such American thinking. Such American thinking. I loved my husband. I loved him to the point I did ANYTHING I could to protect him.” Her mission was to start a war? No, that was not her mission. Her mission was to protect Russia. Her latest mission, though, had been to set a virus into their security system and change all the commands. “Start a war? What would I gain by murdering innocent people? Children who should not know of such things?”

One question echoed in her mind. Did she kill Jack Evans? No. No. No. No. Jack Evans was like a father to her. They ate lunch together, sometimes he took her out to dinner.... always with his wife's blessing though. He celebrated her real birthday with her. If he hadn't been married, maybe she would've have loved him different. This was no something she'd care to know.

“No… I did not kill him. I set his car to explode, I hid him for a few days, but before I could get him out of the country… the Jackal got to him,” she said looking at Ron. “I’m a killer, but there was no need. He had no proof, other than the file. I wasn't going to go against my and your government. That would suicidial.” Then she moved, kicking the gun out of his hand, and flipping him. She didn’t need to have a bullet in her head now. Wasn’t in fashion anyway. He rolled and stood up.

“I know your good Eveline but I am actually better without a gun…that is saying something since I was a sniper in the Army. So lets do this.”

“I rather not fight,” she replied and took the USB from her neck. “Jack Evans was killed because someone ratted him out about having the Worlds Collide X. I was not told of the full mission. I was not told that I would be framed. I was not told that my husband would die because I found this file. I was not told that you were going to be framed and you are now, the Jackal’s next target. Don’t start talking to me about death, Traitor Ron.” She threw the USB at his feet.

“Don’t believe me? Read it or better, finish reading Jack’s copy. No doubt it says the samething. They have times, dates, everything.”

She looked at him, her arms now down at her sides, her body loose. “If you wish to kill me, do so. I have nothing left to live for, but then who’s believe a rogue agent? They'll just think we work together, if you kill me. Keep me live, and we may be able to help each other.”

He circled her with his arms tensed up to strike as he listened to her.
“I rather not fight……Jack Evans was killed because someone ratted him out about having the Worlds Collide X. I was not told of the full mission. I was not told that I would be framed. I was not told that my husband would die because I found this file. I was not told that you were going to be framed and you are now, the Jackal’s next target. Don’t start talking to me about death, Traitor Ron.” She threw the USB at his feet.

He stopped for a moment.
“I know you cared about Carl…I am sorry. At least that is what I gathered on our missions together.” He says and picks up the USB.

“Don’t believe me? Read it or better, finish reading Jack’s copy. No doubt it says the same thing. They have times, dates, everything.” She states.

“I don’t trust you any longer Eveline…I don’t have the luxury to trust you. I will look at this. Follow me.” He states.

She looked at him, her arms now down at her sides, her body loose. “If you wish to kill me, do so. I have nothing left to live for, but then who’s believe a rogue agent? They'll just think we work together, if you kill me. Keep me live, and we may be able to help each other.”

“Just follow me….I need information more than I want to kill you.” He states and goes and gets his laptop.

They get on his motorcycle and head toward a abandoned building and get inside. He fires up his computer.

“My problem is that we are talking about two different operations. In the one I uncovered it states you are a KGB Operative and plan to start a war in a different fashion. In Worlds Collide X…is about Omega and assassination plots including one to shake the world and start a war with the Middle East.” He states as he sighs.

“I uncovered a plot to kill the Director of Homeland Security then launch a nuclear missile against China. I doubt that sounds familiar even though files have you as the lead double agent but states you have co-conspirator maybe a handler.” He says looking at her.

“Your file is also a plot to start a war by assassinating the president and his family. Pinning it on me as a paid mercenary in retaliation for the Prime Minister they pinned on me. All the great work of the Jackal.” He says and looks at her.

“Everytime the jackal’s name comes up you act funny. Do you know him? Maybe you are the Jackal…I had a couple of shoot outs with him but was told to back off….Tell me know what you know or we will end this now. And one last thing..I am no damn traitor.” He says as he draws his pistol again.

“I know you are wearing a bullet proof vest…so I won’t make your mistake of shooting to the body…between your beautiful eyes Eveline…or is it jackal?” he asks

What they don’t know is that they were spotted at the train station. A team of 7 CIA agents trained as a hit squad were circling around the building. They were locked and loaded.

“My problem is that we are talking about two different operations. In the one I uncovered it states you are a KGB Operative and plan to start a war in a different fashion. In Worlds Collide X…is about Omega and assassination plots including one to shake the world and start a war with the Middle East.”

Eveline looked truly confused. Her brows furrowed, as she tried to recall anything about that. “If… they do that, that’s a full on world war,” she muttered. “The Americans will fall under the Middle East.” She remembered once talking with the Jackal about it. While they weren’t friends… they had been classmates.

“I uncovered a plot to kill the Director of Homeland Security then launch a nuclear missile against China. I doubt that sounds familiar even though files have you as the lead double agent but states you have co-conspirator maybe a handler.

“What good would that do me?” she muttered, sitting in front of his computer. She ignored that handler part. No need to reveal that at the moment. She wanted a word with him, herself. “Why would I kill the guy? I had dinner with him just two weeks ago with his wife and kids. He’s a decent—“ she stopped, as if listening for something.

“Your file is also a plot to start a war by assassinating the president and his family. Pinning it on me as a paid mercenary in retaliation for the Prime Minister they pinned on me. All the great work of the Jackal.” He says and looks at her.

She froze at the name of Jackal. Oh dear, his name was popping up everywhere, wasn’t it. She closed her eyes, remembering him. Maybe if they had a normal childhood, she may have had developed a childhood crush. May have. But now, she could only admire him. He was the epitome of the Russian program. What all the little boys should be.

“Everytime the jackal’s name comes up you act funny. Do you know him? Maybe you are the Jackal…I had a couple of shoot outs with him but was told to back off….Tell me know what you know or we will end this now. And one last thing..I am no damn traitor.”

“Yes,” she responded carefully. “I know the Jackal. The Jackal is all male, I can assure you of that.” She looked at him past the gun. “He’s a killer for hire. Your government uses him a lot. He’s the best one around. The Jackal is an expert in anything and everything because, that is what w- he is taught to be.” She wouldn’t say anymore. Eveline wouldn’t reveal the man’s name.

“I know you are wearing a bullet proof vest…so I won’t make your mistake of shooting to the body…between your beautiful eyes Eveline…or is it jackal?”

“I just said, I am not the Jackal,” she replied, shaking her head. “And I do wear a bullet proof vest. I am not built for strength. Besides, I couldn’t fine one in my size.” She looked out the window, and by pure chance, saw some CIA agents. “I didn’t want to kill you right quick. I wanted you to live a little while longer. Carl didn’t die right away. I wanted you to suffer as much and as long as he did. But now, it seems, I have a new target.”

Reaching into her bag, she easily found what she was looking for. The girl did not indicate that she was going to attack, but it looked as though she was going to reach for a gun. Her body hummed with training as she heard the door fly from its hinge. Before they could speak, she turned and threw two strange looking devices at them.

With her other hands, she held out what looked to be an Ipod. “You know, I just find the song perfect for our situation!” Pressing the play button, she forced her body against Ron’s, shielding him from most of the force. Oh yes, Eveline was an explosive expert. Something her file had failed to mention. Her arms moved to her face, protecting the soft parts as she rolled away from Ron. Standing up, three bodies could be seen. Some were missing limbs, others were… well, you knew they were dead. She brushed off the debris from her.

“That’s alerted the rest of them,” she replied, humming as the song still played in her head phones. Oh, Getting Away with Murder was just too awesome. “Ready for round two?”

Just before he was going to shoot her, he sensed something not right. He braced himself as the CIA hitmen stormed in. She reached in her purse as he eyed her.
“I didn’t want to kill you right quick. I wanted you to live a little while longer. Carl didn’t die right away. I wanted you to suffer as much and as long as he did. But now, it seems, I have a new target.”

She heard the door fly from its hinge. Before they could speak, she turned and threw two strange looking devices at them. Ron braced himself as he watched her movements closely. He knew now wasn’t the time to pump bullets into her.

With her other hands, she held out what looked to be an Ipod.
“You know, I just find the song perfect for our situation!” Pressing the play button, she forced her body against Ron’s, shielding him from most of the force. Her arms moved to her face, protecting the soft parts as she rolled away from Ron. Standing up, three bodies could be seen. Some were missing limbs, others were dead. She brushed off the debris from her.

Ron knew she had the background but wasn’t clear how good she was at explosives. He did after all work with her. They coordinated who would play sniper, who would play explosives expert and they both took turns killing close up and personal. They did make a scary good team.

“That’s alerted the rest of them,” she replied, humming as the song still played in her head phones. “Ready for round two?”

“Remember Paris outside of the Eiffel Tower?” he says to her as for the first time it seems an alliance is made. They had done a cross fire against enemy agents at that time.

He goes to the door and grabs the first man through and locks on a rear naked choke hold and snaps the mans neck then uses him as a shield as the next man comes through and shoots into Ron while holding the first assassin. Ron uses the dead man’s weapon to kill the second assassin. He then kicks the automatic weapon to Eveline. He points toward the wall. He takes the weapon from the first dead assassin as they create a cross fire to kill the third assassin coming through.

“Wait here…I doubt there is only six if they know we are together.” He says. He picks up one of the assassins. He carries him out and waits for someone to fire on him. It doesn’t take long as Ron goes down. He shoots low and apparently nails the assassin in the ankles. Then a bullet finds a target of the assassin’s anatomy that kills him. He smiles at Eveline.
“I guess I should say Thank You although I had the situation under control.” He says and stands up.

“We need to move and straighten this out. Two plots…and we are taking the fall for both. That is bullshit. Eve…I will work with you to uncover these and clear our names. I make no promises after…because ex-CIA agents don’t retire. We will need to disappear. I just want you to look me in the eye and tell me if I can trust you. Otherwise we need to settle it now and whoever walks away can take on these plots. You have protected my ass a couple of time already…so I believe I have your answer but I want to hear it.” He states somberly. He looks over at the Black SUV waiting to jump in and get out of there.

“I will not make promises I cannot keep. I will make this promise, until the entire truth is uncovered, I will not, intentionally kill you. I may injure you, but that will only be if it is a last resort,” she said, looking at him. Her light brown eyes didn’t blink, didn’t waiver. Eveline was not the type to lie… well, other than the whole double agent thing. The only reason she did it was because, away from Russia and under the influence of Carl, she realized how many would be hurt.

She looked at her Ipod and pressed the play button once more. A Cheshire cat grin said that the device had not been the remote. Only a distraction. In fact, the remote was hidden. Eveline was not going to tell him where. “Oh, and don’t call me Eve,” she replied. “It’s Eveline for work and Evey for Carl.” With that, she dropped the gun and walked out of the room, making her way to… well, the outside. Her ice cold eyes scanned the area, resting on the black SUV.

Without waiting for anything, she opened the driver side door and slipped in. No one was in there. Reaching into her shirt pockets, she brought out small little objects throwing them into the back seats before spying what she was looking for. Three CIA cells. How… conveint. Rolling her eyes, she broke one, stealing the SIM card and turned off the other. With that last, she dialed the last number known.

“Johnson—have the marks been erased?”

“I’m sorry, Director,” Eveline spoke, her voice speaking fluid English. No accent could be detected. “But unfortunately, all your men are out of commission.” She looked at her watch counting the minutes. “I just wish you’d stop insulting our intelligence. Come on, Dir~ect~or~,” she exaggerated the last word. “After all, sending out your best to kill an innocent man, my, my. Couldn’t even dirty your pretty little old hands, eh?”

She could hear noises in the background, no doubt very close to pinpointing them. “You—“

“No, you listen here. I will come for you, I will come for your wife, your kids, your family. I will go after everyone who has even met you, known you, talked to you, even looked at you. I will destroy your life and your precious government—“

“But, but—“

“So sorry, it’s almost been sixty seconds, gotta go now, ciao!”

Clicking the phone close, she hopped out of the car and walked back to the building before making the car explode. Eveline walked back to Ron, as though nothing had happened. “And yes, I do remember Paris. You wouldn’t take me out to see the Moulin Rouge or buy me a cup of sugary coffee.” A smile danced on her face. “It’s best if we walk from here. No doubt if they thought we took a car, there’d be road blocks. Besides, the SUV had everything about us—needed that destroyed. Blowing up shit is the best way to go.”

She pressed her hand to her temple, feeling the beginnings of a headache. Oh, why now? These headaches had become more and more painful. She perhaps they were migraines, but it only happened while she was working. Otherwise… nothing. Maybe it was sign. Yawning, she felt the lack of sleep begin to slowly affect her. “So, which way to the closest town?”

“I will not make promises I cannot keep. I will make this promise, until the entire truth is uncovered, I will not, intentionally kill you. I may injure you, but that will only be if it is a last resort,” she said, looking at him.

“Fair enough…I swear the same. I certainly am not against putting a bullet in your head at some point or wrapping my arm around your neck and enjoying the feeling of sucking the life from you. With that said, I hope we can be somewhat cordial maybe not like Paris or Berlin but we need each I figure.” He said and shook his head as she went back to playing with her IPod.

“Oh, and don’t call me Eve,” she replied. “It’s Eveline for work and Evey for Carl.” With that, she dropped the gun and walked out of the room, making her way to… well, the outside.

“Whatever….just hold up your end of the mission…EVE….LINE.” he said mocking her. That was kind of stupid he thought, Eveline for work and Evey for Carl…well Carl is gone.

He initially waited for her as she went outside. He collected the weapons and ammo along with cell phone. He smashed every cell phone so they couldn’t track the devices. He then went and grabbed his bags then hurried and returned.
“What the fuck is she is doing?” He said outloud.

He heard the SUVs explode and knew what she had done.
“What the fuck are you doing Eveline? If we are going to be a team you need to consult me before you blow up our means for transportation. You do realize that now they know the mission failed and are sending triple the size of this hit team. W at least would have had 2 hours head start. Damn.” He said frustrated.

“That’s bullshit. Yes roadblocks eventually but we will change cars…duh. You can’t discount the couple of hour head start. Again if you don’t mind Dynamite girl...talk to me before you blow something else up. If we ever make it back to Paris…I will take you to the Moulin Rouge and buy you a cup of sugar coffee. I personally wasn’t impressed with it…so I didn’t think you would enjoy the show.” He replied with an attitude.

She pressed her hand to her temple, feeling the beginnings of a headache. Yawning, she felt the lack of sleep begin to slowly affect her. “So, which way to the closest town?”

They started walking once he had all his bags. He looked over.
“Umm you okay Eveline? You don’t look so good. I think we can get to a motel just over the hill.” He said and took her bag. “Don’t argue with me….if I wasn’t feeling up to par…you know you would take my bags. You already through yourself out there to protect me twice.” He said continued on.

He had her wait outside. He didn’t want to draw attention as he figured an all points bulletin was out by now on both of them. He paid cash for the night and took a room at the other end of the building. After entering the room.
“Again are you okay? Take a shower, lay down and sleep or whatever you need to do. If you are sick then this isn’t going to work.” He said but in a softer tone than earlier.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," she told him, holding onto her side bag. It was not a purse, but a messenger. She kept a lot of explosives in there. Ignoring the headache, she waved him down. "I didn't do it to protect you. I did it because it was necessary. It was vital I dispatched the SUV, it had a tracker, and I didn't know where. I'd rather them come after us, at least, we'll know when they come." She made her wait outside, and she did, pulling her hood down. Damn, how did it change so quickly? Stretching her arms out, she looked at her watch, glaring a a man who started to walk toward her. "Not for sale," she snapped. Ron came back out and she followed him, which was on the other end.

“Again are you okay? Take a shower, lay down and sleep or whatever you need to do. If you are sick then this isn’t going to work.” He said but in a softer tone than earlier.

She turned to look at him. "Am I okay? Am I okay? You realize how stupid that question is, yes?" she snapped at him. She hadn't cried, ever. And no tears came when Carl died. Nothing came. So, she turned to anger. To rage. To hate. They kept her warm at night. Sometimes boiling, but those were emotions she knew well enough. Still, a shower sounded nice. It would at least take the smell of gun powder off of her. Putting her hand to her temple, she sighed. "Sorry, sorry. Didn't mean to be rude." She didn't apologize for what she said, but it was the best he was going to get as she closed the bathroom door behind her.

Turning on the water, she sat on the counter and took of her shoes. The remote had been in the sole of her left converse. She just had to press down on it. Sometimes, the most obvious or the most commonly seen were enough to hide the fact. Slowing stripping herself o her clothes, she looked in the mirror, still wearing her bra and underwear. Upon her arm, there was a group of numbers. EX0199-VS5. She had received it at the tender age of six, one her teachers realized her potential and combined it with her parents' background. She still had no idea who they were, and it did not matter.

"Worlds Collide X," she muttered. "I wonder what Jack thought of that title." A real smile came on her face. Then she fell under the water's ice cold spray. It was perfect. She closed her eyes, enjoying the freezing temperature. "Better leave the hot water for Ron," she muttered to herself. "He needs it more than I do." With that she quickly scrubbed herself clean, all the day's dirt and grime vanishing into the drain. Stepping out, she quickly dried herself, taking a small towel to wrap around her wet bra and underwear and stuffing it into her bag. Looking at her pants, she put them back on along with her hoodie. Hey, it would be until he took a shower. Then she'd steal a pair of his boxers.

She turned to look at him. "Am I okay? Am I okay? You realize how stupid that question is, yes?" she snapped at him.

“Sorry Eveline….I meant your headache or whatever.” He replied meekly.

Putting her hand to her temple, she sighed. "Sorry, sorry. Didn't mean to be rude." ,as she closed the bathroom door behind her.

Ron studied the files as she showered. He took out a pair of shorts and t-shirt. Something just seemed odd here. He looked up as she walked out.

“Eveline…I am sorry. Here me out. I know you are under a shit fall of strain. I have to admit something…while in Paris and Berlin, I used to think how lucky old Carl was. I really thought we had at least a connection for a friendship…which is rare in our business I know and don’t mean to naive. You impressed me beyond the respect I gained concerning your skills. It hurt when it was you that was coming after me. It hurt when you shot me but I understand how they manipulated you. More than even finding out about your KGB connection. I believe you are loyal to what is right. For what it is worth…I met Carl one time. I liked him. He was a hell of nice guy and I am truly sorry. You deserved more time with each other. I could be lucky to find someone like that to stand me for more than 10 minutes. Anyways…I want us to be cool. We need that edge with both of us being labeled traitors.” He says as he initially held his hand up.

“So, can I ask what you know? Like did you talk to anyone before you blew up the SUVs? I mean do you know who sent the assassins?” he added.

He got up and put his computer on the bed.
“You are welcome to the information on the disks of course.” He states and walks into the bathroom.

He smiles after closing the door.
“Oh and you are welcome to any of my clothes that you are going through in my bag.” He says a bit mocking. He heard the zipper on his bag. He also noticed her eyes look at the bag when she came out.

He took a good hot shower. She obviously left the hot water for him. She is a good one down deep he thought to himself. He soaped up his entire body even over the bruises from being shot through the vest and finally rinsed off. He dried off with a towel not used before getting the shorts on and a t-shirt.
“You do owe me a shirt for the blood you made me spill from hitting my nose.” He said smirking a bit coming out.

The mood was lightening up but the man called the Jackal was close behind them. He had just received a transmission raising the price on Ron’s head and adding a bounty on Eveline. He replied “ACCEPT” to the new assignment.

I really thought we had at least a connection for a friendship…which is rare in our business I know and don’t mean to naive. You impressed me beyond the respect I gained concerning your skills.

“My skills aren’t to be respected,” she told him, starting to pull out bags, searching for the one which contained his clothes. “There are others. Much more skilled and much more dangerous.” But that was because those one became unstable. Evey decided not to comment on that. Pulling a lock of hair behind her ear, her eyes scanned the room. This place… was awful. She wouldn’t be surprised if there was a gross pervert with a hidden camera. Really, she wouldn’t.

t hurt when it was you that was coming after me. It hurt when you shot me but I understand how they manipulated you. More than even finding out about your KGB connection. Eveline still opened her mouth. “Carl could get anyone to smile and even to like him,” she agreed. “He… was the reason I started to become a double agent. The man was silly… he was like a child with his beliefs of world peace and smiling children everywhere. But… once I married him, I understood where he was coming from.” Her eyes completely softened, her knees up to her chest. “He talked about the time he met you… something along of the lines of… hm, how did he state this? Ah, yes. ‘Red headed, scary looking thug man.’” Carl… had just a knack for describing people.

“So, can I ask what you know? Like did you talk to anyone before you blew up the SUVs? I mean do you know who sent the assassins?”

Evey looked away and gave him a nervous chuckle lasting three seconds. “I only know what Jack told me and what I read on my USB… which I need back. It has Carl and me photos,” she replied. And… there wasn’t only… g rated ones in there. If one got the drift. All her husband’s fault too. “As to the talking… I… may have threatened to uh… utterly and completely ruin, destroy, explode, rip, tear… crash the government down… I may have…uh… accidently said I’m go on a murder spree?” She scratched the back of her head. Actually, Eveline didn’t really remember what she said. She was on… an explosive high… so to say. “The Assassin’s are hired by your government and mine. But if I’m correct, they’re gonna be hiring the Jackal on us. And he’s real good. Never missed a target. Hell, if I’m better than you—which I am—he’s better than me.”

She frowned thinking hard as she watched him put the computer on the bed. “And one never knows when he strikes. So basically, we’re completely screwed. He’s got a lot of connections who are scared shit of him.”

“You are welcome to the information on the disks of course.”

“Thank you,” she replied as he walked into the bathroom. She lunged for her target. The bag of lovely, lovely, lovely clothes. She pulled it into her lap and started to rummage through the other pockets, curious what he had on him.

“Oh and you are welcome to any of my clothes that you are going through in my bag.”

Eveline stuck out her tongue and opened the zipper throwing his clothes everywhere. Shirts and pants flew, along with papers she could care less about. They weren’t her concern. She’d look at them later though. Finding her goal, she pulled out a pair of plain black boxers. “Haha!” she cheered and quickly slipped out of her pants to put them—aw, they were too big! No matter, it didn’t show as she slipped her jeans back on again. Zipping down her hoodie, she put on a white undershirt she found and slipped it back on.

“You do owe me a shirt for the blood you made me spill from hitting my nose.”

Finding a piece of crayon and a small piece of paper, Eveline drew a t-shirt, folded it and handed it to him. “That should clear my debt, sir,” she replied to him, leaned back against the side of the bed. For a moment, a cold shiver ran down her back, her body turning to stone. Something… her guts and nerves screamed at her… something was going very, very bad. Which meant, something very, very, very, very bad was going to happen to them. Or so, she felt. It could’ve been just her head as another headache began to pound.

He laughed softly. “So you and Jack…scandalous but not any of my concern. Maybe envy but I only care about national security and probably world peace more at this moment.” He said and grinned.

“I met Jack as an 8th grader. He was like a father to me.” He added smiling. He went over to his bags.

“Really? You are going to throw my clothes all over?” he said chuckling.

“And by the way….I won’t let this Jackal win Eveline…I will kill him even it means letting him kill me. You have to promise me that you will follow this through.” He states as he looks at the piece of paper.

“That should clear my debt, sir,”

“Cute.” He says and smiles.

“We take shifts sleeping. You sleep first and then I will wake you…once well rested we will head out before dawn.” He said as he took out his handgun and loaded it.

Ron let her sleep as he closely watched outside. He opened the door to smell the air every so often. He was on high paranoid alert. He should be as the Jackal entered the front office and questioned the front desk clerk before killing him with a single strike to his face driving the nose bone into his brain.

Ron refused to sleep even as Eveline tried to relieve him.
“I don’t like it…something feels not right.” He whispered.

The Jackal was set up in his sniper position waiting for them to come out.

Ron took his bullet proof vest and put it on. He also pushed a dresser toward the door with a TV on it. He opened the door and pushed the dresser out first. Sure enough a shot was fired.
“Get down.” He said to Eveline.

Ron returned fire as he got to a SUV and knocked out the window to get entry. He quickly hot wired the vehicles and backed into the motel wall then opened the door for Eveline. Then he stepped on the gas and sped away.
“I think we found the Jackal or he has found us.” Ron stated. “There was a single shooter…that could only be him is my guess.”

He handled her his gun clip as he drove. Not too far behind was a black SUV and bullets were flying.

Eveline was unable to sleep. She tried to rest, but could not. Instead, she feigned sleeping, listening to Ron moving about. Her breath eventually evened and she fell into a light sleep. As the hours ticked, the girl woke up, and tried to talk Ron into resting. He protested.

“I don’t like it… something feels not right,” he whispered to her.

Evey nodded. “I know. I know,” she touched his shoulders lightly. She looked out the closed windows. “No doubt A- Jackal is already here. He’s quick and efficient like that.” She helped him push the dresser toward the door, stabilizing the TV. The girl could feel the coolness of Alexander’s eyes. She still remembered them as clear as ice. Nothing could pierce them. If he had a heart, the program had destroyed.

“Get down.”

She got down, pulling her messenger’s strap over her shoulder. The girl grabbed the laptop and other objects needed for their survival. Grabbing random objects, she figured she’d find a use for them. As she heard the door fling open, she lunged into it. Closing behind her, she lowered the window as he sped off.

“I think we found the Jackal or he has found us.” Ron stated. “There was a single shooter…that could only be him is my guess.”

“It’s him alright,” she replied, returning a few bullets. “Only, he’s a little sloppy right now.” She stuck half her body out of the window and aimed her gun. Bullseye! Eve had aimed for a front tire, knowing that it would cause the man’s aim to be off once more. She then threw another small explosive under Alex’s car. Three… two… she didn’t know if it went off as a bullet flew through her arm. She quickly sat in her seat, thankful it was a through and through.

“Bloody hell,” she muttered, looking around for a clothe she could use. “Don’t worry about me,” she told Ron quickly. “Just drive—fast. In the next down, we need to go underground—literally. I have someone in the sewers who owes me several favors.”

After a moment, Eveline paused, looking at Ron. "About Jack..." she smiled. "We once spread rumor that we were having an affair with each other. When his wife found out because some intern took it seriously..." She shook her head. "A real pleasant woman. Said, 'Well, I was smart enough to NOT sign a Prenup.' Never let him live that down." When she had told Carl, he only blinked.

“What the hell are you a fan?” he said sarcastically.

“I know you are okay if you say so Eveline. But I need you to be more careful. You are vital to our mission. I am the one Mr. Jackal wants…and he will get a big dose up front and personal before this is over.” Ron stated.

“Look Eve…I am going to call you Eve if I choose damn it. I will call you Eveline when it suits me. I think very high of you. I don’t have the luxury of time to care about you and Jack or whoever. We work in a business that we do immoral things daily…none of us are angels. My problem is that I have two major world peace issues going on at the same time. I have no idea which to address first….I can’t because a world class assassin is being paid probably seven figures for me or at least us. Yes you too Eve. So…no worries about you and jack unless it relates to either issue. At the end of all this….we have to go our separate ways. They will never clear us and hit teams will be looking for us forever. I do think the world of you…no matter how this comes out even if you end up putting a bullet in me….I want you to know that.” He says somberly with tone.

“Next of all…the files you didn’t see were about me. I was raised by two CIA agents and apparently trained since I was very very young. Ron Miller is not my real name. I have no idea what it is or why any of that. So…the mysteries pile up. I think even Scooby Doo’s head would be spinning with all the mysteries we are running into.” He adds as the drive for a while and he pulls over.

He gets out and grabs the bags.
“Blow this up…I know you want to. We can’t continue on in this. I have an idea for the next town transportation. Trust me.” He says and smirks.

He leads her to the railroad tracks.
“The trains come through have to slow down to 10 miles per hour per regulation. Jack told me about it. A couple of recently graduated girls got hit by a train a couple of years back.” He said as a train was coming through and he threw his bags on and hopped on.

“Jump I will grab your hand Eveline.” He said and reached for her hands.

Meanwhile....
The Jackal aka Alexander Koloff was repairing his vehicle with a new tire. He knew he had to get moving quickly or risk losing them.

“…I want you to know that.”

Eve mentally cursed as the blood was not clotting. Damn, he must’ve hit a rather big vein or worse, used some custom made bullets. She didn’t know for sure as her eyes closed. “Huh?” she asked softly, not looking at Ron. “What’d you say? What was I supposed to know?” She blinked, rubbing her eyes. Oh dear, not only was she slowly loosing blood, she was starting to fall asleep. Oh… typical of her. The worst part was she didn’t even remember what he was talking about. Seriously, what was she supposed to know. “…. I don’t wanna be alone.” Oh, she was starting to feel airheaded. Hey, wait, was that Carl? No… just Ron. Damn.

“Next of all…the files you didn’t see were about me. I was raised by two CIA agents and apparently trained since I was very very young. Ron Miller is not my real name. I have no idea what it is or why any of that. So…the mysteries pile up. I think even Scooby Doo’s head would be spinning with all the mysteries we are running into.”

“Oh, I don’t care about your past,” she told him. “That’s why I didn’t look. Doesn’t matter to me at all. Well, at the time it didn’t. Besides, the world’s full of mysteries.” She let out a small yawn and stretched her arms out. “Well, at least you’re wondering about it.” But he pulled over and stopped, making her look questioningly up at him. The bags disappeared out of the back. Wait… how’d he move so fast?

“Blow this up…I know you want to. We can’t continue on in this. I have an idea for the next town transportation. Trust me.”

She nodded, throwing some homemade bombs and pressed down on her shoe. That’s right, Alex, try and get’em! Eveline followed after Ron, yawning once more.

“The trains come through have to slow down to 10 miles per hour per regulation. Jack told me about it. A couple of recently graduated girls got hit by a train a couple of years back.”

“Jack lied then. They weren’t graduated girls, they were Eco-Terrorist who tried to kill the Director of Homeland Security and then, the Vice President,” she replied and grabbed onto his hand as he pulled her up. “I did a classic and tied them down to the tracks. After that, the government covered it up.” She leaned against his shoulder, nuzzling her face against his. Her bullet wound slowly stopped bleeding. “Alexander Koloff was a nice person once… I think I may be a little jealous of him.” Evey’s eyes fluttered close.

“Wake me up when we get there.”

He laughed softly.
“And I don’t care about that real truth. Just that the trains go slow enough for us to jump on. Don’t be too jealous or a fan…I am going to kill him. My first lesson was about me or the other person for survival….” He said and concentrated on the darkness outside.

“Wake me up when we get there.”

“Tell me later then what you heard and maybe I can recall what I said about what I want you to know.” He said but had no intention of repeating himself. He was talking too much from the hart as it was. He needed to toughen up. He would be in a battle for his life. In the end he needed to not have any attachments to anyone when he decided to disappear.

They arrived just past dawn. He woke her up.
“Eveline…we are here. We need to get moving.” He said and grabbed his bags. He threw them then jumped.

“Jump and I will help you break your fall.” He offered. They got on their way after that walking.

The jackal is smart man as he figured after seeing the SUV debris that they had taken the train. He then drove along and figured they were heading for the next town over. He drove ahead of the train. He then got out and waited.

The sun was slowly rising as he saw his targets. This time he would be close up and personal. He hid real well as they walked toward him. Ron sensed something was wrong but out in the open he figured best to play his cards as he moved his back pack to his chest area. He got out his gun and made sure it was loaded and ready.

Alexander fired first and Ron blocked it with his backpack. He got Eveline down and out of the way.
“I am going to end this. You stay here.” He said and circled around.

The Jackal (Alexander) was also moving forward. Finally Ron leaped out behind a bush and tackled the Jackal. Both men lost their guns. Ron exchanged a few kicks and punches with the expert killer. It was initially a virtual draw.
“Who sent you?” Ron asked but got silence.

They fought again and wrestled into the wall of a building. Ron kicked him in the chest and out a window. Alexander was no here to be seen as Ron came out cautiously.
“Come on lets settle this like men.’ Ron challenged.

The Jackal stood in his next hiding place targeting Eveline. He sprang out and knocked her down as he pulled out a knife. He looked at her as she called him by his name. He raised the knife and came down but Ron leaped in front of her and took the knife in his left shoulder. He rolled with the Jackal.

Ron got up and pulled the knife out and threw it into the ground. As he exchanged kicks and punches the Jackal got the better of it knocking him down but he kipped up. He kicked him in the face and leaped on him with a double fist hammer to his head. Ron then locked in a guillotine choke but the Jackal flipped him off. He hit the Jackal with a side kick that took him off his feet and then proceeded to pound with lefts and rights to his down opponent until Alexander the Jackal was nearly unconscious.

He walked over to check on Eveline and picked up the knife. He saw Eveline’s eyes as the Jackal pulled out a small pistol and he threw the knife and it landed in Alexander’s throat. The Jackal then died instantly.
“Damn he was one hell of a tough bastard.” Ron said as he checked on her. He wasn’t sure how injured she was after Alexander’s attack on her. He grabbed his shoulder that was bleeding and tried to put pressure on it.

Eveline rubbed her eyes, feeling woozy. “O-oh alrigh then,” she replied, her mind clearly not… awake.

“Jump and I will help you break your fall.” He offered.

She took him on his offer and wrapped her arms tightly around him as her feet tried to steady her body. “S-sorry,” she apologized, but not knowing why as she moved back, her hands trembling at her sides. What was with his? She had been shot many times, but never had she felt… so light headed. Rubbing the side of her head, she followed Ron, her eyes watching the people around them. She couldn’t tell the difference either way, but it didn’t hurt to look.

She heard the bullet before seeing it. Her brown eyes looked at the exact position Alexander was. Ron pushed Eve to the ground, and out of the way. She knew she was currently useless in a fight. “I am going to end this. You stay here.” He said and circled around. She only nodded and armed herself with an extra pistol she found. It wouldn’t do to be completely defenseless.

“Who sent you?”

Eve could already guess, several names popping up. She made a mental note with a pen, which she found on the ground, and wrote some names on her arms. Who—CIA, KGB… rember to tell Ron. Of course Alex wouldn’t tell. You could eat him alive and he wouldn’t tell. Scream, but not tell. Cry, but not tell. Hell, she couldn’t even tell. Then again, she didn’t know as many people as Alexander did. Never cared too. Eveline could hear the blows the men were giving each other, her eyes closed as she listened to their movement. Sometimes sight hindered you.

“Come on lets settle this like men.”

Ron was only speaking. She didn’t realize that Alexander was in her eye sight until her hand knocked her down, several things happening at once. He had his large hand around her neck which was squeezing the air out of her slowly. He had managed to somehow manage cut the inside of her leg. Hidden blade no doubt. And he was about to stab her. Painfully. And probably repeatedly. She couldn’t remember making any noise. And she couldn’t remember anything else that would cause her injury. But the back of her head hurt. Her brown eyes were locked against his. She wasn’t afraid of death. Not at all. Just didn’t find being in a box or being set on fire… very thrilling.

“Damn he was one hell of a tough bastard.”

Eveline ignored her wounds, not caring if they had reopened or stayed close as she saw his shoulder. Biting her lip, she felt guilty. “Here let me take care of that, it must be uncomfortable you,” she said and moved his hands as she placed her on there, carefully applying press. She was only thankful that her pants were black and so, the blood not showing. And if said anything, she’d only give him a look and say, it was ‘monthly’ habit that all women went through.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a childlike figure appear. Turning her head, a miniature copy of Koloff was scene, only he was looking at the dead man. In the light, he did not look like a child. His face was worn and tired, but the small amount of wrinkles he had, they were the smiling kind. He looked the sort to always smile. “You know, I thought he was immortal,” the young boy said before standing up, smiling crookedly. He had a small scar on his lip. “Then again, I always knew he was only human. Hey Evey, how are ya?”

“Fine, Karl,” she replied, returning her attention to Ron. “Just dealing with some injuries.”

“Mm, really now? And how’d you get them?”

“Fell off the train.”

“And no doubt for blood loss, right? You both look a right mess. And no wonder, they’ve doubled the bounty for your male friend there. And they got a low one on you Evey, but it’s rising. Apparently, ya’ll turned traitor.” His eyes lingered at the small woman. “’course, one of you already did. But the good kind. I love a woman with a good heart—sure you won’t marry me?”

“Absolutely. I don’t like smartass shrimps like you. You’re much too old for me,” she responded and didn’t try to stand up. “I need you to make up fake IDs, SSNs, passports—everything.”

“And what will you pay me?” Karl had ignored ‘too old’ part. He was thirty five… and still one of the shortest Koloff’s around. Alexander had been this little brother before the KGB had taken him back home to Russia. Karl had been too old for the program to be taken, so he stayed behind, getting into the underworld.

“… I won’t rip your balls off,” Eveline finally decided, noticing Ron’s bleeding was stopping. It wasn’t a deep wound. A couple of days and he’d be fine. She leaned her forehead against his collar. “I think I might need some band aids…” And sleep finally took over. Karl walked over and kneeled down toward Ron, his eyes twinkling.

“Ah, I’ve heard so much about you, underground. One of the best, eh? Well, you’re probably the best now. You took down the Jackal, you must be something special.” He looked down at the petite Russian woman and pulled a lock of hair behind her ear. “You best be careful with her. She’s probably lost enough blood to knock her out. Not kill her, obviously, but enough for her to get some decent sleep. Come on, we don’t have all day.” Karl grabbed all their bags.

“Eve…come on. You are hurt much worse than I am.” Ron protested.

Ron had his hand on his gun as the man approached. He waited for him to make a move or speak.
The stranger seemed like the sort to always smile. “You know, I thought he was immortal,” the stranger said before standing up, smiling crookedly. He had a small scar on his lip. “Then again, I always knew he was only human. Hey Evey, how are ya?”

Ron looked over at Eveline as he slowly took his hand off his gun and relaxed slightly.

“Fine, Karl,” she replied, returning her attention to Ron. “Just dealing with some injuries.”

“Mm, really now? And how’d you get them?” Karl asked

“Fell off the train.” Eveline responded.

“… I won’t rip your balls off….I think I might need some band aids…” Eveline said before sleep finally took over. Karl walked over and kneeled down toward Ron, his eyes twinkling.

“Damn…she needs help.” Ron said.

“Ah, I’ve heard so much about you, underground. One of the best, eh? Well, you’re probably the best now. “I am just a guy in the wrong place and wrong time…I need her. She is all I got to make things as right as possible.” Ron replied. “You can help her or get help?” He asked.

He gently lifted her in his arms and carried her as he followed Karl. His left shoulder was throbbing but Ron had learned how to block out pain. If the KGB program was to create the perfect super agents…then as Ron would find out, the American CIA version was what Ron grew up in. He received even more personalized attention to training and didn’t even know it.

Karl pushed opened what appeared to be a secret door and led them both through. Down the stairs they went until they reached the unused part of the sewer. Well, not unused as in, vacant. But unused as, no sewage. Instead, there were computers which were untraceable and in the middle of it all was a medical table. “Place here there and then we can at least keep her from losing more blood.” The short male then dropped the bags next two quickly made cots and stared at Ron.

“You two can sleep here. Don’t worry, if you try anything, we will kill you. There’s over twenty of us here—the CIA and KGB can’t find it because it’s not on any map and to the satellites, it looks hollow,” Karl talked distractedly as he walked over to a female wearing a doctor’s coat. They whispered in fast Russian—about Ron, about Eve… about being found.

The female doctor looked over at the man. “Alright, I’ll see to them,” she said, her voice sounding somewhat vampiric. She was from Transylvania. “You there, American, help me make your friend sit up.” She gently felt along the inside leg of Eveline, her face blank as she felt long the cut. The cut was deep, but not fatal. She frowned, so maybe had a little soft spot for his once friend. Lifting Eve’s leg, she pulled out a knife from her pocket and cut around it, removing all the clothe.

Calling out several olders, a few people scrambled around finding whatever she wanted and gave her some gauze. She placed it on the wound and grabbed Ron’s hand placing it there. “Hold it, and don’t think about moving up. She may be unconscious but her reflexives are just as good. They’re inbred in her, no doubt like yours.” The woman moved toward the open bullet wound, quickly wrapping it up in some clothe and bandages.

Eveline was trembling once more in her sleep, but it was due to a nightmare. Her brows furrowed as she tried to escape the monster that wanted to engulf her once more. It was hard to breath and she felt as though she was on fire. Why did she feel like begging? Why couldn’t she beg?

She was only ten at the time, but already, they had perfected a killer. Armed with only a blade, they sent her out into the snowy mountains to see if she could survive for two weeks on its dangerous slopes. They had sent Alexander Koloff and Karl Koloff to make sure that no other country would get their hands on her. After all, they had stolen her away from her parents—in revenge.

“I know you’re both there,” the small girl called out, her lips a soft purple. She was much too cold. “You are awful at hiding your tracks.”

“And you don’t know how to keep properly warm,” Alexander replied as he walked up to her and started to work on her coat, adjusting it to fit her frame more. “Really Evey, one day, you’re going to have to take care of yourself.”

Karl came from behind, kissing her cheek. “Right, and me too. After all, we are set to be married the moment you turn eighteen!”

“I don’t like smart ass shrimps like you,” she replied with a straight face as she turned to Alex, smiling brightly. She moved her arms up and down, testing it. “Thank you, Alexander. It fits better. Hey, how about, one day, the three of us, break away, eh?”

Both men looked at her blankly.

“What? I don’t always want to go around killing people. Eventually, I’ll want more in my life. And with you two at my side, who knows what trouble we’ll make together,” Eveline smiled, but it was shaking as both men opened their mouths. “Don’t say anything! Let me keep this one dream!”

Eveline opened her eyes, looking up to see Ron’s hand in between her legs and woman tying off a bandage. She looked back at Ron. “I had no idea you were this kinky~”

Ron had been in many places similar to this the last five years while working in Europe. Yet, he had never been in a situation quite like this. He was used to being on his own. He looked around and scanned his surroundings.
“Place her there and then we can at least keep her from losing more blood.” Ron was told and he put Eveline on a medical table.

“You two can sleep here. Don’t worry, if you try anything, we will kill you. There’s over twenty of us here—the CIA and KGB can’t find it because it’s not on any map and to the satellites, it looks hollow,” Ron listened and would usually take offense to that kind of talk.

“I am not here to fight….we need help…I have money in my bag that we will pay for your help. I don’t want trouble.” He said as he looked around. He had been in situations very close to this and came out alive. His issue was he needed Eveline to make it through. He didn’t need anymore enemies.

He looked at Karl talking to a female doctor as it appeared and studied their lips as he can read lips.

“Alright, I’ll see to them,” she said, “You there, American, help me make your friend sit up.”

Ron didn’t hesitate as he did as she asked.

She gently felt along the inside leg of Eveline, her face blank as she felt long the cut. The cut was deep, but not fatal. Lifting Eve’s leg, she pulled out a knife from her pocket and cut around it, removing all the cloth.

Ron stayed steady as she called out several orders, a few people scrambled around finding whatever she wanted and gave her some gauze. She placed it on the wound and grabbed Ron’s hand placing it there.
“Hold it, and don’t think about moving up. She may be unconscious but her reflexives are just as good. They’re inbred in her, no doubt like yours.” The woman moved toward the open bullet wound, quickly wrapping it up in some cloth and bandages.

Eveline was trembling once more in her sleep. Ron studied her as she moved her lips. It was a nightmare but maybe about something from her past.

After a bit, Eveline opened her eyes, looking up to see Ron’s hand in between her legs and woman tying off a bandage. She looked back at Ron. “I had no idea you were this kinky~”

Ron finally cracked a smile.
“All that matters is you are alright. We will stay here for the night but must move come morning. Now that the primary assassin after us is…gone….we need to go after one of the two missions. My money is on the assassination of the Director of Homeland Security then to prevent the launch of the nuclear missiles…to clear you. After that we go after those responsible for assassinating the Prime Minister and stop them from killing the President and his family.” He states.

“I don’t know unless you can read the data differently...I think the first one will occur before they go after the president.” He adds.

They go to where they are shown they can get sleep.
“You rest Eveline.” He states and touches her hand.

Ron spends most of the night reading over the files and looking over his computer disks. He is convinced they need to move as he stated. He keeps an eye on her throughout the night. He does get 2 hours sleep more than sufficient for his purposes. He immediately checks on her in the morning.

“How are you feeling?” he asks.
