Well, the comic Oracle has the whole world of superheroes at her fingertips, practically literally. The JLA Reserves, The Outsiders, The Power Company...

And if anything merits pulling out not just the big guns but every gun, it's Darkseid.

...that, or 'Seid will throw up some kind of impenetrable force-dome over The Island, preventing any more reinforcements from showing up, up to and including JLA teleportation...

Or the huge cast is distracted. I didn't read that Kalibak, DeSaad, or Granny were present. Not even Vermin Vundabar, the female furies, or Steppenwolf. He could have multiple feints to distract and disorder the heroes. It would seem exactly the big D's type of tactic.
