Supergirl: Identity (OOC / Casting Call)

Do you think i could do teth adam justice?

"He's a complicated man, and no-one understands him but his woman."

If you're going to play The Black Marvel, I strongly suggest you read "52" cover-to-cover if you haven't already. They give him an excellent arc in that.

I've been using that map all week!!!

(had a post written up & the computer ate it. will have something up tonight)

Hate it when that happens. I have been plotting, and rereading The Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, and Year One. But never really got an Okay from Tears so I have resisted the urge to post. Don't want to step on toes. I plan on reading Death in the Family tonight.

Came up with a better idea than me playing Black Adam, because honestly I don't want to do the character wrong. So I came up with an idea of a metahuman that had become a cop with Gotham Police Dept. Then he gets recommended for a new government agency that investigates crimes where superpowers are involved. What do you guys think of the name of Amon Rei. Born of Japanese parents but on American soil. Actually Leslie Tompkins is the doctor who presided over his birth. I probably need to give all the details to Tears to get Approval before I start posting to much about the character.

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor

Wondergirl-1.jpg

Name: Cassandra Elizabeth "Cassie" Sandsmark
Age: 17 1/2
Race: Demi-Goddess
Height: 5'3"
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue

Personality:
Although Cassie has been a hero for a few years now, recent shakeups in her personal life have forced her to re-evaluate her life. She had thought she was quite the grown-up already, having led her own small team for a time, but her youthful ways are not quite finished with her yet.

She now feels she has to prove herself all over again. She still has a lot to learn.

Abilities:
The daughter of Zeus with a mortal woman, it may be that Cassie was always destined for greatness. However, until relatively recently, Cassie had no powers of her own and had to rely upon a pair of mystical artefacts, The Sandals of Hermes and The Gauntlet of Atlas, in order to do battle with villainy.

However, in a chance encounter with her estranged biological father, Cassie impressed Zeus with her valour and forthrightness, and he deigned to grant her her "fondest wish." This wish was powers of her own, taking the form of a fraction of Wonder Woman's godly gifts.

For instance, she has strength and durability, but not the full strength and durability of Demeter; flight and speed, but not the full speed of Hermes. Heightened senses, but not to the full extent as Artemis', Goddess of The Hunt. And so on, and so forth.

(The precise fraction these gifts are of Diana's has yet to be determined.)

She possesses bracelets that approximate those worn by her mentor and auxiliary mother figure, Diana.

Ares, God of War and Cassie's half-brother, has given Cassie a lasso resembling Diana's. However, instead of a mystical polygraph, this lasso is most definitely a weapon, and will strike an enemy with The Lightning of Zeus if used in anger.

While not technically an Amazon, Cassie has been embraced as an honorary sister by Diana's tribe and has received martial arts and weapons training from their greatest warriors, including Artemis of Bana-Mighdall -- herself a former Wonder Woman.

As an added bonus from Zeus, Cassie's mother can disable Cassie's powers temporarily, this intended by Zeus to keep yet another of his offspring from being overcome with arrogance.

(Quick) Biography:
Born the daughter of noted archaeologist Helena Sandsmark, Cassie grew up believing her biological father had perished.

During their time in Gateway City, California, Helena and Cassie came to play host to Wonder Woman, and it was during this time that Cassie gained access to the aforementioned mystical artefacts, employing them to become the new Wonder Girl. At first, Diana protested, but eventually came to value Cassie's efforts and perspective.

More recently, Cassie went along with Diana on a visit to Olympus, and confronted Zeus, at which time Zeus granted Cassie powers but retained the secret of her paternity for future revelation.

That revelation has come to pass, and Cassie is horrified at her mother for keeping the secret from her. This combined with "older sister" Donna Troy's recent departure for deep space on a pilgrimage of unknown length and Queen Hippolyte's ascension to Olympus as The Goddess of Truth has caused Cassie great concern and consternation.

Cassie and Helena now live in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., as Helena has obtained a job with The Smithsonian. Thankfully, this puts them again within superheroic shouting distance of Diana's own new base of operations in New York City.

I'm crying a little, now.

There are no words. So much The Awesome.

(Have I told you how crazy it is to me that it's my character, essentially, inspiring you to cobble together crossover fan-art? That blows my mind.)

Name: Helena Bertinelli
Codename: Huntress
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 145lb.s
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Age: 26

Background:Helena believed her father to be Franco Bertinelli. Helena witnessed her parents’ (Franco Bertinelli and Maria Panessa) murder at the age of 8. The hit was ordered by Steven Madragora, capo of a local Mafia family. It was later revealed that her father was not Franco Bertinelli, but in fact, Santo Cassamento, the Don of one of Mandragora’s underling families, and the reason she wasn’t killed alongside the Bertinelli's. Helena was soon sent to Sicily to live with her cousins, the Asaros. They were an assassin family, which Helena would use to her advantage to learn how to punish those that destroyed her life. She was taught to defend herself by her cousin, Sal Asaro, member of a Sicilian assassin family, who also trained her in hand to hand combat and in a wide range of weapons. Sal and his father would later be arrested, resulting in Helena being sent off to boarding school in Switzerland. When Helena discovered her families dark secret, that they were involved in organized crime and that her family was one of the largest Mafia families in America, Helena would wage a war against organized crime.

At the age of 16 she briefly returned to Gotham in an attempt to discover her family’s assassin while also attending her Mafia uncle’s party. This party was broken up by Batman and Helena became inspired by the crime fighter. When she first saw Batman, she decided to create the Huntress persona in his image. The fear that she saw on her uncles' and cousins' faces made her want to become a vigilante just like the Dark Knight. She eventually took care of both the killer and Mandragora himself.

Helena would later attend the University of Palermo, and upon graduation returned to Gotham indefinitely. After years had gone by, Helena finally discovered the truth about her biological parents and who was responsible for murdering her family. Helena would soon confront Cassamento, who has deduced that Huntress is Helena because of the coincidence in their arrival in Gotham. He threatened to reveal her identity if she did not work for him, however Helena would not give in. She approached her uncle and told him the truth about who killed their family and asked him to kill Cassamento. In the end the plan to set up Santo was a success. What she had set out to do was finally done, Huntress threw away her costume and was left to find who she is.

Helena and Batman have never seen eye to eye, and he would rarely accept her as a hero because he believed Helena was too unpredictable and violent. However, Helena does get along with other members of the Bat family such as Tim Drake. The two of them have a good relationship and would also team up together. When Helena was framed for murder, Tim was there to help clear her name. Eventually, Helena would be offered a membership in the Justice League of America. Batman was the reason she was allowed on the Justice League, he would sponsor her. In time, Helena became respected amongst her peers in the Justice League. Also, working with Superman has helped Helena become much more confident in her abilities. She is eventually forced to resign when she attempted to murder the villain Prometheus.

When a mission goes wrong and Black Canary is hurt and no where to be found, Oracle calls on the Huntress to help search for her. Oracle always kept an eye on Huntress and even though she didn't approve of her tactics with criminals she asked for Helena's help. She doesn't stay with the team, leaving to follow her own agenda.

She is eventually offered to join the Birds of Prey again and work as Oracle’s agent alongside Black Canary. Black Canary and Huntress begin to develop a close friendship but Huntress would not stay on the Birds of Prey for long.

Eventually, Huntress had to rejoin the team when she could not prevent an incident from getting worse and had to ask Oracle for help. While working for the Birds of Prey, Huntress still went out on solo missions. Her missions mainly consisted of revenge against the Mafia families. Batman feared that she wants to cause a massive gang war, but in the end she confronts Batman and gives him a map listing all of Gotham’s Mafia family locations and base of operations.

When Black Canary left the Birds of Prey, Huntress became one of Oracle’s top agents, earning her full access to Oracle and her equipment.

Powers: No metahuman powers.

Skills: Helena is trained in a number of ways to defend herself, both in hand to hand combat and with a number of weapons. She is an Olympic level athlete, trained in gymnastics and dance as well. She is an above average detective, and a skilled marksman, prefering crossbow style weapons.

Equipment: Huntress' costume is made of multiple layers of kevlar, an inner layer of dragonskin body armor, and an outer layer of Nomex. It gives her some resistance to fire and outstanding protection against fire arms. She has a variation of the "Bat Family's" utility belt. It contains many small yet useful tools.

Her mask has small optic enhancement packages including starlight and infra red. It also has her Birds commlink that she uses to communicate with Oracle for mission information and logistics.

Helena also has a variety of crossbow type weapons ranging from a modern crossbow to a pistol crossbow to a wrist mounted crossbow weapon. She will vary which type of weapon she uses dependent on the mission she is on.
