Surprise! Canadian Federal Erection Thread

Well, a survey out of Burnaby BC saying “ we likee chinee people rots” is hardly a surprise.

:)

Americans have always been annoying blowhards with bad taste and shallow impulses… but they’re our annoying blowhards and they would probably jump right in and enjoy killing anyone who tried to fuck with Canada ( other than them)

So, let’s not get carried away.

Trump and all this maga nonsense will be replaced in 4-8 years and until then, canadians will mostly hold their nose and boo the star spangled at hockey arenas.

You do know the battle in the star spangled banner was when forces from british canada were on route to burning the white house to the ground, right?

an amazing change of fortunes!

But it wasn’t just trumpty dumpty.

Trudeau and the Liberals played it like a violin.

Justin and Gerald Butt deserve the credit.

Heading into final weekend, Liberals remain favourites to win

While the margin between the Liberals and the Conservatives has tightened, the Liberals still hold a wider lead than they had going into the last two elections and are favoured to win the most seats thanks to their edge in Ontario, Quebec, B.C. and Atlantic Canada. The Conservatives still trail in the polling average in these battlegrounds, while the Bloc Québécois and New Democrats remain on track to suffer significant seat losses.

Well Trump did say he preferred to deal with the Liberals....

I think he will regret that.
Well, I suspect he'll he'll have a Liberal landslide to deal with and good luck to Canada. Strikes me Carney is the man for the times - the guy's a shark. Eighth governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013 and the 120th governor of the Bank of England from 2013 to 2020. He was an inspired choice for the Liberals, that's for sure.

As for poor old Pierre, this will be an object lessonfor any politician that ties themselves to Trump. I notice that Farage has backed away considerably.

Doddering Donnie genuinely seems to think the US has been subsidizing Canada. 😆 JFC, he’s so dumb.

I was genuinely completely mistaken on Trump. He's an idiot. I suspect his best ideas came from Steve Bannon. Who is noticeably absent this time round.

Steve Bannon.
Sigh. Steve Bannon.
I support your journey on seeing the true trump, but maybe take a minute to stop and think that you would not be making so many of these obvious 'shoot yourself in the face' errors if you could stop giving admirable qualities to the worst people around.
The best ideas of Steve Bannon  are all racist and criminal.
Has he ever exfoliated? THAT would be a great Steve Bannon idea.

Carney and Trump have lots of common interests.

Westinghouse modular reactors, pipeline companies…. Remember, Carney was Chair of Brookfield Asset Management.

And the Chinese like him, too.

This has all been political theatre. Carney already has deals in the bag with the us, uk, eu , australia and china… you’ll see.

Electoral Results from the 51st State starting to come in from the Maritime colonies..... provinces. I mean provinces.

They were pretty much expected to be dominated by the Liberals so no surprises here.

Actually, there are surprises in what are early results atm.

When the House dissolved, the Libs had 24 seats in Atlantic and the Cons had 8.

Right now its 22-10…not a liberal blowout in the east, but less that half the votes are counted.

Popular vote is very tight.

There hasnt been a true 2 party race or one this close in Canada since 1930.

In this race, the other parties are near zero, its a liberal conservative slugfest.

Accordingly…There is no statistical model to track it… it just has to be watched.

The final likely-voter model, which only polls people who’ve already voted or are almost certainly going to, predicts the Liberal party will garner 41 per cent of the popular vote to the Conservatives’ 39 per cent. The NDP and Bloc Québécois are relegated to 10 and six per cent, respectively.

There was little change regionally, with the Tories strongest in Alberta and the Prairies, the Liberals from Quebec east, and election night battlegrounds setting up in Ontario and B.C. Those results were similar across almost every poll. While Mark Carney and the Liberals maintain a narrow lead, Abacus CEO David Coletto wrote that a high voter turnout could help Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives. “Our model assumes participation in the high-60s to low-70s,” he wrote. “If we’re low — say it pushes well north of 70 per cent — that means more late deciders and infrequent voters, a pool that leans Conservative 39-37 (per cent).”

Looks like it's going to be close. I suspect it'll be a high turnout tho - a lot of early votes supports that, I think. And Trump sure hasn't been helping Pierre with his 51st State nonsense. A record 7.3 million Canadians voted in advance polling this year, and Angus Reid found that more Liberal than Conservative supporters (46 to 34 per cent) turned out for the four-day voting window. But it also found the parties deadlocked at 38 per cent among leaning and decided voters who were waiting until Monday to cast a ballot.

Liberals seem to be flipping seats from the Conservatives here and there. Not by a landslide but one here, one there.....

NDP seems to be down and I don't expect the Bloc's vote will change much.....

Oh you’re wrong on that… even the blocs own internals say theyre going to lose half their seats

the Liberals are ahead in 33 of 40 seats in Quebec atm… if that holds, it’s all over, as the Liberals havent done that well in Quebec since Trudeaumania in the 1960’s

You’re a bit of a stuck record. Get some new material.

Reality is what it is.

Deal with it.

Canada is NOT out of the woods. (pun intended) .

Canadian MAGA has been rebuffed THIS time. (America THOUGHT it had recovered from the MAGA virus, only to experience a reoccurrence.)

😑

We. Told. Them. So.

This is a good sign for Democracy everywhere.

“ Mini Trump” Pierre Pollivre has been defeated in his own riding.
