Surreal Realization

How many times a day, on average, do you have a surreal realization that Donald Trump is actually the United States President?

I wasn't surprised by the outcome. We've known for years the media is a propaganda machine of the Democrat Party. People were paying attention and saw the feverish inflation of support for Hillary. All one had to do was compare the tens of thousands of people who attended Trump rallies to the hundreds who attended Hillary's rallies. Democrats failed to learn the lessons of 2010 and 2012, failed to see the deadfall they were gleefully walking into.

For the last 20 years Hillary's been the most divisive female public figure in America. It was a fool's errand to try and convince the American majority that all of a sudden she was the most popular of presidential candidates. She's literally been hated by half the country for as long as she's been on the public scene, efforts of the national media to the contrary notwithstanding.

It was clear she was physically weak, lazy, politically flawed, and possibly ill. She had no economic message no vision other than the furtherance of Obama's hated policies of federal overreach. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton elected Donald Trump.

Then perhaps you should recognize that there is something so inherently wrong about the Democratic Party that, not only is Trump our president, but Republicans have run the table. They have everything.

I think it's very much more that there's something wrong with the ever-more-dumbing down of the American electorate.

No. Actually it wasn't clear. At least to almost 3 million more voters. Yes they weren't conveniently located in the electoral college landscape - but then one needs to look at that specific landscape. The volume of fake news and utter outrageous BS these voters - and frankly, sorry you too, swallowed, boggles the mind.

You are shocked by Trump's antics? You shouldn't be. They were right there in front of us the whole time. They were ignored in favor of stories like the pizza parlor and body doubles and all kinds of other insanities.

Trump's MO was right under your nose. You chose not to see it.

And we are all paying for it and are going to continue paying for it.

Hopefully he won't fuck it up too bad.

In other words, the ever-more-dumbing down and gullible electorate, of which we have several examples (like Rightguide) posting to this site.

Agreed. Saw your post and wished for a like button.

There's a lot of shiny object syndrome going on.

For that you get a shot of vodka and a potato.

If you continue to sit here and dismiss my words, this will continue to happen. I hate Christians with a motherfucking passion. But I'm not going to side with people who want me to think that white people need to shut up, men need to shut up, and white men need to die. I'm not. Sorry. And neither is most of the country.

I'm only dismissing your words because they are very, very stupid words.

Who are these people who think "white men need to die?" I'm a white man myself, so you'd think I'd pay special attention to anyone who thinks I need to die.

One group is Muslim extremists. Another is the New Black Panther Self Defense Party. Plus, there are probably extremist lesbian groups that espouse that idea.

ETA yeah, here's such a person now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rog1si1SX5g

Maybe, just maybe, if you took some time to think about how ridiculous the left is getting, you'd understand.

Get your shit straight, Dems. If you double down, you may end up seeing a 2020 Trump as well. You have 3 3/4s years to fix it. Talk shit all you want. The consequences speak for thenselves.

Exactly.
As a foreigner who lives in Australia, it took me almost 6 months after I joined the forum to understand that GB lefties actually THINK that way. I thought that all the demonizing and "racist" calling over nonsense were just excuses to justify trolling.

It's so surreal to see how your democratic party lost touch with common sense. That's among the reasons that I ended up gravitating towards the GB right leaning posts, when in real life I'm quite the opposite.

Those who hold liberal views over here are much more moderate and tolerant. Your liberals seem to be very intolerant of and full of anger towards anything or anyone that doesn't adhere to their rigid globalist worldview. Which makes Them the real right wingers or "racists".

They fail to realize that they are as much responsible for Trump's victory, as those who voted for him.

And that the rise of nationalism (which isn't a good thing either) in Europe and the US is driven by economic reasons (as in a stand against a corrupt establishment and neoliberal globalization). Only a small% of thise who voted for those parties are "racists".

No they aren't. They aren't even as responsible as you are, from Australia, for reposting the fake crap you did during the campaign to feed the gullible in the States. Who do you think you're fooling?

Maybe even more so. Based on all the polling that happened before the election, it should be obvious this last election was more a matter of who is worse, Clinton or Trump, and voting for the less bad. I voted against both of them.

I'm not saying that electing a populist like Trump is a good thing.

But it seemed to many as the less of two evils.

Your former establishments helped push the US further and further into decline.
It's actually sad to watch, since a lot of us grew up in awe regarding the US.

I just saw your post after I wrote mine.

Exactly.

Can always count on you for bullshit. It's nice that you're safely tucked away on the other side of the world, though, and can be totally discounted. ;)

Not exactly.
A lot of foreigners are interested in US politics because the US is still the leading empire, so it sets the tone for most things that happen in the rest of the world.
And I'm not particularly interested in the US or the left-right artificially created dichotomy, as in the neoliberal- corporatist - globalist ideology that was adopted wordwide since the 70'.

As many noticed, neoliberal- globalization failed, and the population decided to take a stand against it and against the establishment as reflected by Brexit, Trumpism, the rise of the anti-establishment left paty in Greece and of nationalist parties in Europe.

But what will happen in the future? We're all in a vacuum and we don't know what will happen next.
Is this the start of a better era? Or of a nationalist- totalitarian dark age? Or will neoliberalist corporatism start growing another one of it's heads, but in a different form?

I was never interested or knowledgeable about politics. But I, like many others started reading and posting in forums because we feel that we're in the midst of a big historical moment. But we don't know where we're heading next.
