The pics aren't vanishing by themselves, some administrator somewhere is removing them. I enjoy chatting on Lit but the pictures are part of the fun and stimulation too, I think it might be time to retire.......

I believe they only remove what they deem as 'hard core' pics... so pics with nudity are okay, but not if they show oral, vaginal, or anal sex. I'm not sure where they draw the lines, however, and a lot of it is up to how energetic the moderator feels at the time.

From what I've seen and heard, the removals are pretty random. Mods're quiet, but the local buzz is a virus or some other system glitch. That seems more likely because pics that fully comply with the U.S. federal stuff have vanished too (fully clothed shots, etc).

According to Nigel, in a PM, when asked by Ran57gr, he has not removed any pics and doesn't know what's going on. So, unless the site owners are bypassing him and not telling him about it, we're propably looking at a glitch or overloaded server(s).

If the site owners were doing it, there'd be a systematic form to it rather than apparent randomness.

Does anyone know anything about this sort of software? You would imagine that if storage was running short the system would start deleting oldest first, or at least ones that haven't been accessed for the longest time.
