GOP’s John Kennedy caves on defending extortion — but claims Trump didn’t have ‘culpable state of mind’

In an interview with CNN’s Brian Stelter on Sunday morning, former White House Communication head Anthony Scaramucci upped his attacks on his former boss, President Donald Trump, by accusing him of being a traitor.
“I think it’s not just a Ukrainian call,” he began. “There will be other elements of the story that unfold where people say wait a minute, there’s a combination of incompetence, there’s a combination of the destruction of the executive branch of the United States in addition to the lawlessness and traitorous-like behavior.”
“Traitorous-like behavior?” Stelter pressed, to which Scaramucci shot back, “There’s no question.”
“Strong word,” Stelter offered.
“What word would you use? You’re on the phone with the president of the Ukraine, and you’re strong-arming him to have him go after your political opponent?” the CNN guest explained. You’ve become a traitor of the Constitution and a traitor to the laws of the United States. Do you want to pretend that it’s not traitorous behavior?”
After a mostly quiet Sunday on Twitter, Donald Trump finally couldn’t contain himself anymore and launched a panicky tweetstorm defense of himself with an emphatic all-cap “NOTHING WAS DONE WRONG!” claim just days before the House begins public impeachment hearings.
According to the president, “Corrupt politician Adam Schiff wants people from the White House to testify in his and Pelosi’s disgraceful Witch Hunt, yet he will not allow a White House lawyer, nor will he allow ANY of our requested witnesses. This is a first in due process and Congressional history!,” before quoting stalwart defender Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
Rudy Giuliani told Daily Beast politics editor Sam Stein that the private clients were the ones behind paying for his international efforts on behalf of President Donald Trump.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Kasie DC,” Stein said he was trying to get to the bottom of who was funding all of the efforts to get Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his family.
“I had to ask Rudy that very question because I was curious who’s funding this stuff,” said Stein. “Is it a private client, is it Donald Trump? He has private clients and said that he was traveling to places like Madrid, for instance, on their dime for separate president and just happened to be doing this quasi-diplomatic Ukrainian policy while there. Now, I don’t know if that’s believable or not. But where the money goes does actually raise a number of questions, as Susan noted. And it is something that the lawmakers, at least one lawmaker on the impeachment inquiry told me, is a point of emphasis and inquiry for them. Because they want to know exactly who was funding it for what purpose and whether there was laws violated because of it.”
Stein also wondered if Giuliani knows too much to throw him under the bus. A Washington Post piece revealed this week that Republicans are looking to Giuliani as someone who is expendable when working to protect Trump.
Axios reported Sunday that one of the biggest concerns in President Donald Trump’s White House is that former Director of National Intelligence John Bolton frequently took detailed notes during meetings. Those notes could not become part of the investigation into the president’s bribery of the Ukraine.
Bolton has said that he has no intention of testifying and is working on an upcoming book.
“These sources, including both current and former senior administration officials, tell me that the former national security adviser was the most prolific note-taker at the top level of the White House and probably has more details than any impeachment inquiry witness, so far, about President Trump’s machinations on Ukraine,” Axios reported.

New revelations are being released from Nikki Haley’s book With All Due Respect, chief of staff Gen. John Kelly and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson were working within the White House to protect the country.
“Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country,” Haley wrote, according to a copy obtained by Slate. “It was their decisions, not the president’s, that were in the best interests of America, they said. The president didn’t know what he was doing.”
“Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because, if he didn’t, people would die,” she wrote.

Since the Senators will effectively be Jurors, or the equivalent of, they should be unbiased, impartial and objective. Those that openly state they are not should be excused from the process.
Projecting again .Impartial and objective? like the house? LMAO The Dem Senate will march in lockstep for removal, there is no objectivity with Dems! This whole sham isn't about high crimes and misdemeanors, Dems know they can't win, this sham is about shaping public opinion for the 2020 elections. It worked in 2018 with the Mueller report and they're praying for lightning in a bottle. Only your lefty looney toons believe this sham is for real. TDS on steroids.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough thumped Nikki Haley for “playing a game” by flattering President Donald Trump — and positioning herself as his next running mate.
Scarborough called out Haley’s motivations as political self-promotion.
“For Nikki Haley, there are was an audience of one,” he said. “She’s putting herself in position to be Mike Pence’s replacement, if the president decides he needs to replace Mike Pence, and this was an audition, just like Bill Barr wrote that memo that Donald Trump fell for hook, line, and sinker and become attorney general, that’s exactly what this book is all about.”
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley over the weekend tried to depict herself as a staunch defender of President Donald Trump who was protecting him from the machinations of disloyal administration officials who wanted to undermine his authority.
However, multiple Trump officials have contacted the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman to dispute Haley’s claim to have been firmly in the president’s corner during her time in the administration.
“ have gotten calls from three administration officials taking issue with Haley’s description of herself as both stalwart defender of Trump and concerned aide,” Haberman revealed on Twitter. “One described her as ‘scarce’ during her tenure.”
Georgetown Law professor Carrie Cordero then asked Haberman to describe what she meant by “scarce” — and the New York Times reporter confirmed that Haley was seen as a “non-player” in the administration who was “just around for the photo ops.”
Demonstrators in New York City called for the prosecution and imprisonment of President Donald Trump as he spoke at a Veterans Day event.
The president on Monday spoke in his hometown of New York City ahead of the Veterans Day parade. Although the president was behind bulletproof glass, protesters chanted “lock him up” loud enough for him to hear. Chants of “impeach and remove” could also be heard.

Among the many revelations in the transcript of Ukraine Special Adviser Catherine Croft’s testimony to the House is the fact that acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, who also oversees the Office of Management and Budget, put a hold on a shipment of Javelin missiles to Ukraine not just as part of an apparent scheme to force Ukrainian officials to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, but also out of concern that Russia would be angry.
The impeachment of Donald Trump is not just a matter of holding the president accountable for his confessed plot to extort Ukraine at a time when Russia is engaged in both an invasion of that country and a cyber-invasion of the United States. This impeachment is also a mandatory warning to myriad potential Trump copycats that serving as a carrier of the political disease known as Trumpism is absolutely not a path to more winning, but a political death wish.
The republic-consuming virus of Trumpism must be humiliated out of existence. Even the most fanatical Red Hat militants need to feel ashamed to have been flimflammed by this obvious Lionel Hutz-meets-Biff Tannen goon whose résumé includes operating as a four-decade punchline in New York City.
‘STILL A CRIME, SPANKY’
President Donald Trump’s anxiety, as measured by number of tweets, seems to be approaching all-time highs. Monday, hours after giving a Veterans Day speech in his hometown of New York, surrounded by banners in windows and on buildings calling for his impeachment and removal, Trump took to Twitter and had yet another meltdown.

Trump deserves to be removed and imprisoned on the basis of being a blackmailed asset of Russia alone. Merely list all of the instances in which Putin has benefited from statements made and actions taken by Trump in detriment to the United States
