‘Let Cocaine Mitch do his thing’: Trump relying on McConnell to make sure Bolton never testifies

According to a report from the Daily Beast, Donald Trump and White House officials are sitting back and taking a “hands-off” approach to make sure former national security adviser John Bolton never testifies on the Senate floor, relying on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (T-KY) to squash any Republican rebellion.

While Trump has a well-documented history of attacking any Republican who dares cross him, during his Senate impeachment trial has held his fire — at least in public — letting McConnell and Majority Whip John Thune (T-SD) do his dirty work.

According to a source close to the White House, using a nickname coined by an opponent of McConnell, the president is letting Kentucky Republican do what he does best, stating, “The thinking is to let Cocaine Mitch do his thing and get his people in line.”

The report goes on to note, “Despite the Bolton bombshells, the GOP line on witnesses has held. However, with the unpublished manuscript still looming and new information coming out every day, Trump and his allies are not out of the woods yet. “

Jimmy Carter said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s Middle East plan would violate international law and urged the United Nations to stop Israel from annexing Palestinian land.

“The new US plan undercuts prospects for a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians,” the former US president said in a statement.

“If implemented, the plan will doom the only viable solution to this long-running conflict, the two-state solution,” said Carter, who brokered the landmark 1978 Camp David Accords that brought peace between Israel and Egypt.

He urged UN member-states “to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions and to reject any unilateral Israeli implementation of the proposal by grabbing more Palestinian land.”

Trump’s final impeachment strategy: Throw Mitch McConnell under the bus

Mitch McConnell’s cover-up of Donald Trump’s corruption looks like it will soon be complete — but not before a betrayal so big it could blow the GOP’s chances of holding the Senate in November.

After 10 days of arguing over whether to allow evidence in Trump’s impeachment trial, the Senate is expected to vote Friday on whether to allow witnesses, a vote Majority Leader Mitch McConnell now believes he will win. Republicans are determined to fast-track the end of a trial where the defendant has offered no real denial of what he’s accused, has refused to provide any material evidence and has already paid off the jury.

Such a lazy defense is precisely why McConnell wanted to avoid an impeachment process altogether. Public opinion had decidedly turned against Trump and the GOP Senate since the trial began. Hundreds took to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to call for witnesses, as 75% of voters in a new Monmouth University poll say witnesses should be allowed to testify. A straw poll on witnesses among GOP senators earlier this week was tighter than McConnell expected after it was revealed that former White House national security adviser John Bolton has a forthcoming tell-all which reportedly lays bare Trump’s plan to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden.

SO Trump will require that the Republicunts dig their own graves and acquit him in full view of their constituents on Suck-u-low's pipe dreams.
