ha that doesn't work as well as it sounds :( it just makes your throat burn a bunch

You gotta feel the burn. No pain no gain.

Nah, the throwing up thing is overrated. Not eating is way more effective, it just makes you bang your head a lot. But you eventually hit a plateau and from some reason not eating makes you gain weight. Totally odd.

Believe it or not I'm somewhat familiar with this phenomenon. The truth is if you are trying to lose weight by depriving your body of calories, it's a good idea to do weekly refeedings at your normal level so your body doesn't recalibrate your metabolism for a famine.

really? I was told that if you did the weekly thing it made you gain weight even faster when you hit the plateau thing. Darnit, the anorexics I know can't get anything right :(

Bodybuilders are just anorexics who know what they're doing.

Don't they have books in Canada!

We do, but what's the use of books if no one can read? They're good for fueling the fire on those cold Canadian nights though. Either way, I'm moving to the US, everyone's brilliant there

PS- you bodybuild?

Indeed we are. It's all the good $3/gallon freedom.

No, but as soon as this lithium kicks in I'll know how it's done.

That's cool. If you do it though, don't overdo it, they're having the national bodybuilding dealy here or whatever and some of the people are slightly horrifying.

This is the first thing everyone tells me.

Don't become horrifying!!

Don't be 240lbs with 3% bodyfat!!!! All those veins are so nasty!!

I can't even crunch out a 6 pack.

Veins are ok, ocassionally, usually no. 6 packs are ok...but a bit overrated. One of my best friends has a 6 pack that she seems really proud of, but if size 0s fell off me, I probably would too. Where you're at now seems pretty good....not that I looked at the pics or anything.

That's scary. I can't even lift the metal bar thingy

The best thing about paying the gym extra money is that they set up the machines for me. I have no idea how much I can do - I just tell them how the weight they set makes me feel. And then they, with their physiotherapist knowledge, figure out what to do next time.

For anyone confused, look into MedX by Premier Fitness.

I did want to suggest medication in the other thread, but I was afraid you'd take it the wrong way.

You scare me.

What thread are you talking about?

The bug thread. The one where you said you were turning into a bug.

But I started thinking about meds much later. You seemed to be in a funk.

I'm kind of a funky dude. Like Rick James.

Good luck with it, man. The first three months are the toughest, or at least they were for me.

You are in my thoughts, for what its worth :) PM anytime.

You are most def a funky dude, but the pessimistic tone had the aura of depression about it. I should know, I'm on meds for the rest of my life to prevent recurrences. Only without the mania.

But I might have been reading too much into it. I have been known to make assumptions, and we all know what happens when you ASS-U-ME.
