The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Not only you. We are just as blessed that you and pup-pup are safe and sound and in our loving embrace once again...😘🤗💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, OM! I tried to get through the thread last night but was just exhausted. We're supposed to get another storm tomorrow morning but nowhere near as severe as Tuesday's. Northern California is now on the receiving end of what we had on Tuesday. I hope all come through safely. 🙏🫂

Well what a few days….temperature dropped to around 26 and boiler packed in. Valve burst and sprayed water over the control unit…both screwed so no hot water or heating with freezing temperatures. Fortunately we have an electric shower and stove in the lounge that takes wood or coal. Waiting on parts for god knows how long grrr!
Oh, no, G!😱😱 I'm glad you have some way to get warm and take a shower. Are you suspending your trips on the hill? How are our boys? 🥰🥰

The landlady just FaceTimed me so I could watch the big Labs wrestle in her living room. 225 pounds of big silly dogs who love each other and who love to play. I did talk to Daisy for a bit. Fred had to get up and move when Daisy retired to the couch.

Guess you had to be there.
I think it's wonderful you get to check in on the babies when you're away! 🥰🥰

I saw one fatality in Washington state from a downed tree.
We have so many trees here! When the ground gets saturated, the wind through tree branches turns them into a sail. Trees are easily toppled. There are deaths every year from falling trees. It's really important for people to monitor the health of trees in their yards.

We had a next door neighbor who would randomly plant living Christmas trees in his yard. If he had planted them near the greenbelt, it would have been safer but he didn't do that. Some of them became diseased and were a threat to our property. So, my husband paid for a tree surgeon to take down the dangerous trees since the neighbor either couldn't or wouldn't.

Good morning everyone.

Day 3 of this crap. The people leading this conference aren’t open to new ideas, even though all I keep hearing is “be an element for change”. It’s death by PowerPoint. The ironic part is they are streaming this and I could be back home getting the same result while still being able to get work done. At least I take my thermos of coffee with me to keep me awake.

Y’all have a great day.
I hated that! In my last job before I retired, I worked for a large multi-hospital/clinic organization. I often had 0700 meetings at the large hospital we called "the mother ship." Since we could call in to these meetings, I would stay home and do just that. People at my hospital thought I was in the other city. People at the meeting thought I was at my desk. I would get ready for work after I answered roll call then leisurely make my way into my office after the meeting. Reading the minutes kept me up to date and only took 5 minutes. 🙄🤣

Welcome to the café.

We do things a bit differently here than most of the rest of Lit. But here’s how we roll.

1. If ya wanna talk about your jacking off habits there are probably other threads that are better fits for you.
2. We’re not too sexual here. Think of it as a bunch of old folks at a bar or at a coffee joint. We also don’t hit on the women here. There’s about 673832 other threads for that.
3. No politics, religion or drama.

Everyone is welcome but we are protective of the vibe we have here. This applies to all who visit this thread.

If this feels like a good match, welcome... if not you may have better luck on another thread.
673832! 🤣🤣🤣

Well today was interesting…it started on the Merse hoping for geese. It was a clear sky and the temperature was now 19f with a heavy Haw Frost. As the sun rose the whole world just sparkled. The geese didn’t show but I had a photoshoot with a pal for some product placement with Sam. Got some great shots of him retrieving for the Christmas product range. He also did a few posed for me.

After that it was a quick warm up, shower and out with the management for lunch. Finally a trip to the dentist which will ultimately make my wallet hurt more than my mouth.

Now sitting in front of a roaring stove with a pisssy tea having borrowed some electric heaters for a couple of rooms. Heaven knows when parts for the boiler (furnace) will arrive.

We are managing and tomorrow should see the cold starting to abate.
That sounds cold, G! Please post some pictures of our gorgeous boy, Sam, for K and me! 😍🥰😍

I’m love/hate w retirement.

I would love nothing more than to have my days to myself,. But I also like the structure and routine that my work life gives me.
I delayed retirement for a number of years after our financial advisor told us we could retire any time. I had the same fear of what would I do with myself. Well, I'm here to tell you retirement is great! Some days I wonder how I had time to work. You're always so busy, W! You'll do just fine when you get there! 🥰🥰
