Three long days in the salt mines…that’s including today if the plan sticks. Then, hopefully the leav’n on a jet plane plan. Have barely had time to reflect on the upcoming holiday. Going to take it slow and enjoy. Oh, kid knocked out his piano recital! I didn’t get to see this one but his school is having one this week and I’ll be home for that. You win some, you lose some. It’s Monday. Everyone cope as best they can.

Morning all.

Leaving Pittsburgh area this morning after rush hour. Great visit as always. They are such good people.

The PA turnpike is a gorgeous road for an interstate. Usually when we take a long weekend, we’ll take back roads or US30 part of the way home. Find cool little towns or cafes or bar. Sometimes we just find little random towns in central PA and put Google maps on and wander around for the better part of a day.

But today we have to get back quickly.

I have a project at work going live today but I put in for this long weekend months ago and the live date got moved back, so I’ll have to keep an eye on my work email.

All good. There’s a lot on my plate this week and next. Have a good, safe and productive Monday. I was gonna say happy too, but it’s Monday. 🤪

Be careful of the deer, especially around Valley Forge. I imagine it will be a beautiful drive if all the leaves have not fallen. The PA turnpike was one of the first limited access highways built in the US. There was a time there was no speed limit.

We get off at Carlisle and take 81/78 home, so don’t go that far south.

But the deer are bad everywhere. Last week was deer season in PA I think and this week is 6 day shotgun in NJ.

PA turnpike is really pretty and windy (winding not windy), some cool tunnels thru the mountains and beautiful, picturesque views of mountain valleys. One of my favorite roads.
