The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

That sounds good Noor. Hope you get some sustenance and are able to stay warm!

I’m sorry your friend or restaurant owner is in hospice. 😕

Thank you! It’s the husband of old friends. It’s frustrating not to be able to do much as they have done so much for me over the years. He’s a great cook and has never gotten my food allergies wrong.

If that's the way the person feels, it is a perfectly valid way to feel.

There isn't a set script on how something like that needs to or should progress. It's about processing those feelings and emotions, and deciding what the best path foreword is. For everyone going through that, the path and results will be different. All of those possibilities (ok, assuming not murder!) are valid and acceptable.

I think it's possible to forgive and trust again, but certainly not everyone can, will, or should do so.

I’m watching a 40+ yr old marriage split apart. One spouse is acting mean, and strangely, the other is crushed. I wonder if something is physically wrong with the mean one. In the past I’ve have seen elderly people seemingly go nuts from
Urinary tract infections and pneumonia that they didn’t realize they had.
I’ve also seen people do this when cheating, even if it’s just emotional.
The crushed one doesn’t know what to think and is lost and angry.
I can understand that feeling, but I don’t know how to help other than hugs and listening.

Does the "mean" one have dementia or alzheimers

There are BIG personality changes with these diseases

I am gonna stop ordering citrus with my grocery order

Do you all remember when I asked for 2 oranges and they brought 2- 5 labs of red grapefruit?

Well I ordered 3 oranges and they brought me oranges...... 2- 8 pound bags

What in all holy hell am I gonna do with 16 pounds of navel oranges

Hahahahahaha

Yeah, that's a hard one. Especially being an bystander and watching it unfold. Not much you can do other than offer the support and the ear you currently are. The brain can do weird things sometimes, and sometimes there isn't much you can do...
Sorry to hear you have to watch that going on.

Make an orange cake? Orange smoothie? Donate them? Orange scones?https://www.delish.com/search/

G’afternoon all. Hope your weekend is relaxing. This morning was some much needed range therapy. Dropped a van load of donations off (another load waiting to be taken tomorrow). Now it’s time for football. 4 teams I follow, the Broncos, CU Buffs, CSU Rams, and Army are all playing today/tonight. It’s going to be a good night if they all win. Have a good rest of your Saturday, and enjoy your Sunday.

How old are they? I have been around demential and it can be horrible.
Mid 60s -early 70s.
Even small strokes can mess with personality. My mom has a small a few years ago, she refuses to get tests or treatment and for about 2yrs she was 25% mom and 75% this mean depressed person which she had never been before, then she came back.

*comes in and hugs whomever wants them*
I was napping but I will definitely take a couple! Thank you. I needed that! Especially after the weird dreams of my nap. :ROFLMAO:
Ham and pintos tomorrow...I got super hungry and opened up a can of chicken noodle soup. It was pretty good.... and I need a nap
I just got up from an app myself. Highly recommend!

Only thing I would change is to have either slept in a quiet room or better curate what was playing in the background. Strange, strange dreams today. Sometimes naps are like that but in this case I think it was influenced by what was playing in the background.
(cycled to some kids' show.)

Old friends. That means they probably know you well. Don't underestimate the power of just being with someone. Hope you are able to visit them soon. Just showing up is so so important.

As someone else mentioned, I'm so sorry you have to see this happen to your friends. It's a horrible position to be in. I hope there's a resolution soon. 🫂

Maybe a call to your store is in order?

One of our stores did that for a while. They had their website set up wrong or their computer set up wrong. Options being surfaced to the customer were for individual pieces of fruit but on the store's end it was Bunches of bananas and bags of citrus.
So when I got two bunches of bananas, thankfully I was only charged for two individual bananas. But I was going door to door making friends giving bananas away. In a good week I can maybe eat a max of two bananas. There's no way in hell I could ever deal with two bunches. If I did I would be making almost a dozen loaves of banana bread. And I don't have enough room in my freezer for that either. Haha.
The store did catch on and made a change. But those were interesting times.

Wow! Look at those prices. How old is that image??
Or are those 2 ounce snack options for Cheetos and Dr. Pepper???

Yes, I lived with them after major surgery and they are part of my emergency room posse.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get there, though I’ve sent things and call them. Everyday I try to get there so hopefully soon.
