The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Cold and damp here, too. Not as cold as it could be, and the wind ain't a-blowin'.

When Calypso was alive and when it rained, he'd let his buddy Telly inside the barn and then he'd stand in the doorway and keep the other two horses about in the rain. He and Telly were taller, so it was like the "must be this tall to ride this ride" sign, and he enforced it. First, the old white horse, Lafitte, died April of '23 and then Calypso died in July. He's not there to enforce it, but Gawyn (the dark brown horse) has it down as learned behavior. Funny thing is, Telly acts like his barn permission has been revoked. There is the ghost of a Danish warmblood standing where the photographer is, keeping these horses partly in the rain. Telly is the red horse. He's also at least got the thinking part out of the weather.

Okay, I read that as "appliance sauce" and promptly wondered, WTF is that she's going on about???

It must be Naptime #1 . . . .

That is funny.... I AM going to attempt to clean out this filter thing on my front load washer. They have pictures. I can't help but think this is totally a boy job.... like fixing the pull cord thingy on my lawnmower because people will borrow it and crank on it and pull it out so it doesn't retract..... it only requires a gentle pull... prob because I maintain stuff .....

Of all the US mini cars I liked the Gremlin the best. It was factory built with mounting brackets for small block V8s to expedite swapping
My best friend had a ‘74 Gremlin, blue w white stripes and the little Gremlin on the back (which I don’t see on the above?), had a straight six, with a 3 speed stick I want to say…it might have been a 4, but I do remember, It would fry the one rear tire driving in 3 gears! 😂. Surf racks on top, we made quite the impression rolling up and piling out. Maybe for all the wrong reasons but we got noticed! 😂. Fun times😄

Saturday is upon us. I think I’m going to drag the tribe to one of those Fondu places. SWhoMBO always gave it a thumbs down when suggested before but has suddenly and thankfully changed her mind. I love those places, and so need to piddle around today. Clean up from the fat man’s visit, he always leaves a mess, and maybe work in a fireside Maker’s Mark 46 before assembling the troops. Everyone enjoy the weekend!

Somewhere in Norway MZ…Oh Lofoten, Islands maybe?

It didn't just come with brackets for it, it was offered with a factory V8. I know someone who was given one as a work car in the 70's! I'd love to have one now!
I remember flipping through my friends owners manual in the glove box. I remember reading they had Police Interceptors! Wonder what size V8 those were packing? 🤔.

We would make ‘firecrackers’ from caps

Start by getting a sharp, straight, sewing needle. Next, poke the needle through the powder spot on the cap roll. Continue zig zagging the needle and aligning the powder. When the roll is threaded onto the needle take a single paper match to make a fuse. Put the match head on the ‘column’ of caps and use clear Scotch tape. Add nd wrap it tight around the cap. Carefully pull the needle and don’t let the whole works spring out. Use tape to compress it with the paper end of the match sticking out. That’s the fuse. It makes a firecracker a little stronger than a Black Cat

This is how we got firecrackers in a state they were banned

Careful that you don’t scratch with the pin. You’ll set off a hot flare in your fingers not an explosion

Lots of work to I make a single cap but what do ten year old kids in the ‘60s do all summer

We’d line up 5 or 10 cap rolls and race to see who could hammer them the fastest. This all would go on for a couple hours until we got yelled at to stop

Oh the memories

Choose Ford or Chevy small block and run the HP to weight ratios. It was an easier swap than Pintos or Vegas

Go Bill ‘Grumpy’ Jenkins

Morning all. Feeling lazy today, but have a few small projects to knock out.

It been raining here for 10 or 12 hours. The driveway is completely mush right now. The mat that built up is like mashed potatoes with all this rain.
I wondered about that with all your snow. I hope the mush melts before the cold wave comes. No need for ice skating on your driveway.
