Welcome to the cafe! We are glad you could join us. It’s a fun thread, think a bunch of people coming together each day at a good local dive, or a good coffee joint.

Post #1 introduces the joint... and glancing back over the last 10-20 pages provides additional context.

We just talk about her every day lives, trials, and tribulations. Sometimes we bust each other’s chops….Sometimes we do a group virtual hug. There’s a pretty good amount of discussion around food, coffee, and the occasional libation.

We just don’t discuss any politics. We keep religion out of here. We don’t put up with any drama. And most importantly, we don’t hit on any people here. It’s a hangout thread on a sex site, but the thread is not a sexual one.

Everyone is welcome - we don’t want to be cliquey - but we are protective of the vibe we've built over the years.

We hope it’s a good match. But if it doesn’t, there are tens of thousands of other good threads on the lit...
 
So I got my left leg done up due to varicose veins. The procedure itself wasn’t too bad and it was pretty quick - maybe a half hour. I was able to drive myself and everything. Only problem is that they numbed the back of my leg and it hurts a little bit.

Before and after that, work. It was very Monday like.

This weekend, we are traveling to Punxsutawney to see the filthy little rodent and if that prick sees his shadow… 6 more weeks of winter. We are going with another couple - he was one of my good friends from when I was in the reserves.

I am sure this will ruin the movie Groundhog Day for me. But should be fun!

Wife is still running that fever, even with Tylenol. Apparently influenza A is running around here right now. I'd bet $100 that's what she has. Really hoping I avoid it. We got all our shots this fall, so hopefully she doesn't get as sick as she could have. Doing a little work on the computer, and a little checking in here.

With the missus being sick I'm really tempted to sleep in the spare bedroom tonight. I've only ever slept in the one room since we moved in here, we've only slept in different beds when one was traveling for work. Never in the same house! But, not sure I want to expose myself to this bug any more than I need to. Decisions, decisions...

So I used AI today to compose an email to a senior person or company. I just put in “ write an email to a senior person asking for their product information so we can share it across their organization.”

It’s spat out some corporate sounding bullshit. I made a couple of changes, and it took me seven or eight minutes instead of 45 to 60 minutes that I probably would’ve spent trying to compose the perfect email.

The kicker was, my boss sent me a message late today saying what a killer message that was! 😂

Can she take ibuprofen. If she can alternate with Tylenol so she is taking one or the other every 3 hrs.

It will help keep the fever down... as much water as she can tolerate

My parents took in the girl thqt caregives for my disabled sister and hr daughter...the daughter has flu a.... they got their flu shots and are isolating but shit shit shit

Power was restored... took them 3 hours, not 2. Wonked out my whole work day. Thankfully it was all over by the time the Handyman showed. And... no surges. Of course I shut off or unplugged most items when the first text came from the power company.

🫂 Hugs to you both!! I hope the isolation keeps the healthy, healthy and those stricken only get a mild case.

And with that, it's an hour earlier than my usual but I feel the need for a hot shower once I finish my soup. 🍜

Just finished playing games with the little one. She can flat make it not fun, she is so competitive. I learned a while back not to play games all the way up until bed time. It never ends well.

For all those that are sick or around the sick, stay warm, stay hydrated and stay away from me.

Good morning Wonderer! You are doing a good job in place of OM.

Yesterday was busy with a 2 mile walk inside the Mall. And many more business are shutting down. The mall is going through a transition. Still a great place for a walk. Then of to the bank, car wash which was super busy, and visit with my GF who is taking turns providing meals to her 80 year old neighbor recovering from sespsis. Got back and scheduled the biopsy.

Today is a breeze; painters and then to the vet.
