Gonna tackle another one of moms overstuffed rooms today with the dusters. I might tackle her bedroom early enough for any dust to settle before we bring her back to bed tonight.

Need to plan what I'm going to do for Monday night. If I do a roast I need to go get potatoes and carrots.

Sounds like a solid plan.

On banjo lessons… a friend of mine, who is a pretty accomplished guitar player, said that Steve Martin (the actor and comedian) is actually a really great banjo player. I was quite surprised!

There is some kind of injection you can give them but it’s a crap shoot.

It’s a major safety issue here in the northeast and the upper Midwest. In big wind, storms, a lot of the dead ash trees blow over onto powerlines.

Seventy-odd years ago, Dutch Elm disease wiped those out. I think there are still a few out there, but nothing like they used to be.

The car trailer will require some wiring repair before I use it again. It seems that some member of the universal puppy has chewed the harness that plugs into the truck.


The landlady blamed Daisy.


I think that is cruel.

I got the grocery shopping done this morning and got some cash from the ATM. That damn kitten pulled down a curtain, so I stole a rod from upstairs where it wasn’t being used and replace the Ben one down here with it. Cooking some more food. Gathering some stuff by the front door to take with me when I leave this afternoon. Surprise of surprises, I put the rest of the clean clothes away. That’s always a nice touch.

Whole tribe is over. Kids did manage to get an AirB&B for a few weeks. Good deal also! Bonus! I’m going to insist momma hang out here. She’s getting forgetful and I feel better with us watching her. Not much in the way of privacy today so leave you with the Spring Time MZ…I think this worked! It’s getting to 70 in a few days…maybe the harshest part of winter is over for us. Although I’ll not buy any plants till after St Paddy’s…

His son works with him and he has a crew. My wife has already read him the riot act about how he needs to let the young pups handle this one and he can just run the show. In fact she insisted and he promised! 😀. He has done work for us before and honestly is one of the hardest working people I know…except for our own Wonderer and Wat of course!

it’s all starting to line up a bit…I don’t think weather will be a problem as they’ll be in the crawl space, so hopefully it is going to warm up and we’ll get this knocked out.

When I was a kid there was a local family that had a Sunday morning worship show. Dad was the preacher and he and mom sang. The rest of the five kids shook down into several instruments. The youngest played the banjo. I told my mom I wanted to learn how to play the banjo. I got the above response! 🤣

It used to be part of his comedic routine before he moved on to movies and bigger and better things. He hasn’t hung the banjo on the wall though…

He frequently performs with the Steep Canyon Rangers (which I’ve seen live several times, although sans Steve)…
