Those costs are horrific. Here in the UK, our National Health Service may be crumbling, but that stuff is still free.

I waited two years for a hip replacement and was on the verge of spending £10k to get it done privately before getting a call from the hospital to say a cancellation had freed up a slot for me the following week.

I have also had two cancer scares in recent years. Both turned out to be benign but the care and kindness shown by the NHS staff was incredible.

It was actually at a movie theater.

It was pretty good. I’d give it three out of five. Led Zeppelin has never been my favorite band, it was a little bit too long and there was a little bit too much guitar wanking.

However, it was a really well done documentary, and there’s no doubting their excellent musicianship, their musical vision and their cohesiveness as a band.

Just popping in to give you an update. Spent all morning at an urgent care, then the pharmacy at the VA and then the lab for bloodwork (unrelated to what ails me). On a Z pack for strep and a sinus infection. Taking it easy for a few days, lots of water and vitamin C. I doubt I’ll be on much for a few days, just wanted to say “hey”.

I asked my boss the other day who is responsible for the data regarding attribution and another thing that doesn't make any sense to you. There's only one person responsible for it, and no one ever questions them. I don't think he's dishonest I just think that data can show you what you want it to show that doesn't mean it's true. But since he's popular and everybody likes them and people are intimidated by his brains no one questions him. And I can't question him cuz I don't know as much as he does but I just don't understand some of the stuff he says well this metric is 80% but really it's 83% because we're not taking into consideration blah blah blah blah blah. Well if it's 80% it's 80%. I said has anybody tried to recreate the data that he obtains if no one can recreate it is it true? I'm pretty sure that my asking that question was really not appreciated. I am a little out of sorts so it's probably best to just keep my mouth shut

I also ask things like we're doing this process but what's after that we could send the provider a query but if they don't answer it then what doesn't matter how many queries we send if zero are answered. And then what, but the providers don't interact then what. I feel negative but like think this s*** through. When it comes to data and statistics it’s always best to have an in depth look and by an independent peer. We used this approach on our water pilot testing to be sure the data was not massaged.

I got my hip done. I changed doctors. In to see the guy who did it in December and got it done March 28. Cost me a shade over $3K complete, for a $60K invoice.
