I'm waiting for it to catch up. Loud music, concerts, earbuds, and factory work. We had earplugs but I could still feel my eardrums vibrating for hours after a shift ended.

These things I wear actually DO have selective hearing. If there is no noise, they will search for any noise and focus on it. If there's lots of ambient noise, they turn off everything but which direction I'm facing and hone in on recognized speech ...so if you're at a table at a loud restaurant I can hear just you
