This of course is how most tanks work. It’s a stabilization system that locks onto a target and no matter how fast the tank is doing or whatever terrain it is going over and the main gun will stay perfectly locked onto the target. This is how you kill other tanks on the move.

Or hold a huge stein of beer. 😂

This reminds me of one of my favorite army stories.

We had a newish lieutenant who was taking the lead for our whole company at Ft Hood. It has beeen raining for days and the ground was getting all churned up a real mess.

Lt C got us lost not once but twice on a road march and we kept on passing thru the same field over and over.

Did I say the ground was churned up?

Finally the company commander had lost patience and tells Lt C to get to his tank. It’s a comedy of errors. Tanks trying to turn around on a tiny tank trail on a hill in the driving rain.

When we get back to the field that’s even traversed like 4 times in the open, Lt c jumps off the tank to get to company cdr tank and sticks straight into the mud… like up to his thighs! Can’t get out. It’s comical but everyone cannot really laugh… kinda.

He can’t get out. So the gunner had to move the main gun over his head, lower it… he grabs his arms around it and hugs it while then gunner raises the main gun, pulling him out.

His pants also skid down revealing his righty whities!

One of the funniest moments…

Urgh. The last two weeks at work have been a shit show. Teams that thought they were aligned or not talking to each other and are actually unaligned.

Or maybe misaligned. I don’t fucking know which.

At least my team has a shit together as we prepare for our big leadership sales meeting at the end of the month.

As for the other teams on my change projects… God only fucking knows. I’d like to assume everything is going to go on schedule. All my communications are planned, all the senior leadership teams have been briefed, all the impacted users are aware of the change

Now, just to get two teams un-fucked… there seems to be a lot of face-saving, holier than now attitudes, assumptions, and agreements that were made…

@Wat_Tyler I will be taking a few pages from your playbook as I’m off to whack a couple of weasels heads together and an 8 o’clock meeting.

It’s typical corporate bullshit, not unlike anything I haven’t dealt with before. The world will still turn. A paycheck will still arrive. My stress level will fluctuate.

I’ve logged many a weekend 🕺💃🏽hitting the clubs…that’s long in the rearview though…
In Korea we had 121 bars in our “down range” village…we’d do pub/club crawls starting at the first as we left the gate, and hit the tried and true places. There might have been some dancing involved…having said all that, my musical tastes run the gamut. I’m in a bluegrasss/newgrass phase as of late…



Helping momma today. Did my part yesterday by watching our granddaughter all afternoon so she could get some rest. She’s not sleeping well but we’re forcing her to eat and she’s up and about. Good news basically on all fronts except rest.
