The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

My dad and brother tried that on me. Called me back outside after I had been asked to run some errand.

Got me all nervous when they asked if I knew what I hit. Then had me come around to the front and look at the grill.

I took one look and almost puked.

Me: Really?!?
Dad and brother start laughing

I hit a pigeon

With a 3/4 ton passenger van 🤨

I walked away and left them with the cleanup
I jad a cardinal sticking out of my grill... while i was lookin for something to detach it. My mom ruched down grabbed it pulled it out bare handed... like a boss she is

Wife did that once. It was the carcass on the road I had been avoiding all week. Ont trip to town she had a flat.

Her: "I don't know what I hit"
Me: (while plugging tire) "I do".

She is the most amazing woman I've ever met. However she's not good at avoiding road hazards. Take the good with the bad, I guess...

We're to the point we can laugh about her inability to dodge anything on the road.
My late wife and I felt the same way about each other. We both had our faults. When you have respect and love you laugh and hug when the other messes up.

You two have something special. ❤️

Actually... it's SOP for the human brain...
Not marriage related
Not gender related
However YMMV applies

The gist:
The brain is focused on execution and sequencing of actions to interact with the environment effectively.

When you hear a negated statement (e.g., "Don't touch the stove"), your brain initially imagines the positive action ("touching the stove") and then has to deliberately suppress or reverse that idea. This extra "reversal process" takes more time and cognitive effort compared to processing an affirmative statement ("Touch the handle").

Maybe the affirmative statement is causing her to overcorrect, thus missing the pothole?

Or I could be full of ✨ and :poop: :ROFLMAO:
You're not wrong, Likes! When you say or write "don't" or "not," the brain tends to negate the "not." It’s why ppl are less likely to contact if "Do NOT hesitate to call..." is written or said. They see or hear, "DO hesitate to call..."

What a week.

I feel like I earned my paycheck. I usually do. Maybe I feel like they worked me like a rented mule.

I fell asleep at 8 and woke up at 1030.

Mrs wonderer is everything I am not when driving: kind, patient… I guess I am too… I just hate all other drivers. 😂

She taught me the the art of fellowship on the road.

Tons to do this tomorrow. Picking up a trailer, then cleaning out all of our pumpkins for pumpkin smooshing and shooting over Christmas or for deer bait.

Shotgun season starts next week. Then muzzleloader. (Can’t use rifles in NJ)

Then I gotta help a friend cut up and move a tree.

I gotta do some Christmas shopping
Take care of a few lingering chores
I'm somewhat of a "passive driver" but I still get lots of cramps in my middle finger.

Yeah, the recliner in the lounge does that to me, after my shift and a meal.
