The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

It wasn't raining when I woke up and only sprinkled throughout the day. I was out for a short while, staying on the plateau where I live. Still, there was standing water all over on the roads.
Be careful of water on roads. Water is essential for life but can also take it. I suspect you know this. I just felt the protective urge to say it anyway.

If we live in a country of free speech, why are there phone bills?

Ballerinas are always on their toes; why don’t they just get taller ballerinas?

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met.

I think it’s wrong that only one company makes the game Monopoly.

Why don’t they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff.

Cross country skiing is great… if you live in a very small country.

Do people in Australia, call the rest of the world, “Up Over”?

I’ve always been bad at spelling – not sure whether it’s nature or nurture.
OMG… I just woke up Mrs wonderer…

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met.

This totally sucks. Have you had a convo with your friend? Or just leaving it between you and the kid?
I told my friend from day one I would not mix in my business with our friendship.

I kept my word so far and intend to stay that way.

Even w his kid, I vowed to take the high road. I may not this week because there’s two words I always tight my kids: be accountable and be responsible.

Since his career options are limited, I even tried to get him into the utility union thru a friend. He never took me up on it.

So he’s on his own now w his house clean out and “antique” business.

Thanks for this morning laughs.

A very thorough report!
Overall, today was a very good day! I did wake up early. 0730! 🥱 Showered, dressed while waiting to see if my appointment could be made virtual. Turns out, it could! It was pushed back to 1000 and was a good visit. I really like this dr. He's very good at explaining things. Sometimes I let him, sometimes I remind him I'm a CC nurse!

After the call, I went out to run a few errands. While I was out, the cabinet guy called to let me know he was still working on the pull out drawers and doors. (WTAF????) He was supposed to have done that yesterday, knowing he was to finish the install today. Time management is not his friend. He's now coming tomorrow. At 0800. No, 0830. Um..., let's make it 0900. 🙄 I told him he BETTER be here at 0900 because if I wake up early for him and he doesn't show for hours, I will be ANGRY! Then we will have a conversation! No one wants that!

Just after I got home, my friend rolled up. We cleaned out the guest room closet today. I wish I had taken a "before" picture. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Imagine, if you will, a hoarders 'lite.' That was my closet. I had 6 large storage totes full of stuff I hadn't looked at in decades!
What?? 😂

Also had a shelf full of junk and empty boxes. You know... GOOD boxes! The kind one might want someday.
Wait, what? 😂
The fact that I have neither wanted or needed them for eons not withstanding!

We cleaned out all 6 totes and 2 large cardboard boxes. Found lots of treasures I forgot I had. Threw a lot of stuff away. It feels so good! We're not completely done but it's in a place where I can finish it myself.

We also cleaned out my collection of purses in my closet.
Whaaaat? 😂

I used to love purses and bought nice leather ones with lots of pockets. My friend left with 3 large bags of purses. I don't use one now most of the time. I just use my phone.

I'm starting to feel much lighter! My goal for 2026 is to completely declutter my house. I do not want my nephew to have to do that.

On that note, it's time for this tired girl to get to bed. 🥱😴💤
That sounds like a good day! Getting rid of and purging stuff always feels good!!

Marvin quoted me forty thousand so that's gonna be out of the ballpark. What's nice?Is these are retro windows? So the frame stays you just do the side tracking and the windows themselves. The windows in there now are single pain. Two hundred series, their thirty nine years old.So when I popped them out reinsulate, caulk, the sides and the windows slide in takes twenty to twenty five minutes to replace the windows. If I had a go with marvin full frame, that means ripping out all the frames and everything. But I understand what you're talking about.
The thirty nine year old andersons are still in good shape. No rotting. I've taken out the existing windows already to replace the.Retention springs in the top header. So with this, it's just screws caulking and popping them in.
Annnnd, That's why it pays to shop around!

I've seen those drop ins, but haven't used them before. It should be a nice upgrade.

Same with Lil, if you weren't thousands of miles away... I'd lend a hand.

I'm glad you're able to help your friend who really needs it. Times are hard now. I suspect things will get worse before they get better.
She's doing a lot better now, but for a couple of years things were really rough for her. She left a very abusive relationship, with kids in tow. Starting from scratch with mouths to feed, etc. I'm really proud of her for what she's accomplished since then.

SWMBO gave me this little book for Christmas because she claims I’m a hoarder…the nerve of that woman! I too have a collection of good boxes. Who doesn’t? So before your New Year’s resolution, go out and grab it ($8.88 on Amazon, hardcover no less…cheaper than the paperback?) or grab from library.

I can save you some time and money though…right from the source…”If you haven’t used it in the last year, get rid of it.” Just saved you $9 bucks or a trip out! I’m good like that. 😘

Did I mention how much I love the smell of Hoppe’s #9? Can’t decide if it’s better than Testers Airplane glue? I know we’ve had this discussion before. Cleaning Iron&Wood in the garage when SWMBO comes in and loudly blurts, “it STINKS in here! Smells like chemicals!” Heathen…

How dare she!

Smelling those chemicals may explain…a…lot…though….😂

Good day on the range. I didn’t light it on fire on the pistol range, as I was shooting a Colt Police Precision with no rear sight…the other fellas had red dots and Hollow Suns…I did redeem myself on Sporting Clays though. Greylag…you’d of been proud!

Have a great weeekend!

One word: fire.

There was this guy who hung out with my dad for years. He was a character, and I swear I should write a book about him.

His back story was, at age 15, he was clearing a spot of land with a mule. His dad was riding his ass, so he rode said mule into town and joined the US Marine Corps. His mom signed him over as the recruiter said he was too young. Ended up as the first wave of Marines to hit Iwo Jima. Survived the month long fighting, but during the closing stages, gets hit and left his right arm on the island. That’s another story for another time…

Anyhow…he owned a small trailer park on the way to the beach. Had a couple of tenants who wouldn’t pay rent and were protected by the system…

Since he lived there, he knew the comings and going of said tenants, and one night as they left…he fixed his problem using the one word system. 😉

I knew a guy who turned 19 on Iwo. Took a break in a cave and got jumps by 5 Japs - four soldiers and an officer with a sword. He blacks out and comes to sitting on his ass with the sword in his hands. Officer's body is over here and his head is over there, and four dead soldiers strewn about.

He was never my landlord . . . .

I need more information on your treatment system to answer definitively. However I suspect like most household treatment systems the first step in treatment is to remove sediment and suspend particles. If not, the remaining part of treatment will get clogged and not perform as it should.

Feel free to DM about this more.
System was installed by portusoft for pressure gauges, as well as five shutoff.Valves, the water comes in through the well.Goes through the first filter which is about four and a half by twenty inches. It then proceeds in through a brine tank with crushed coconut.Shells, it then passes through the second brine tank with crushed coconut.Shells.Then, through the final four and a half by twenty inch filter before it goes into the water.Softener and then into the system.
