The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Apparently, you can coat them in Vaseline or similar and they'll last 6 months to a year. A trick for loading for long sailing voyages.

We collectively used to use sodium silicate to seal the shells also. Waterglass is something that's not known much about anymore.
My daughter uses the sodium silicate method to preserve the eggs from their chickens. And she uses her dad for extra when egg laying is abundant.

Everytime I went to buy a new car and requested a manual drive, I was met with, "Do you even know how to drive a stick, little lady (or sugar, honey, darlin. Insert platitude here)?" 😡

I might have scared a salesman or three. I learned to drive in Italy. 🤭🤭
That would have been fun to see. I think I might have been rolling on the ground with laughter. When a man underestimates a woman, . . . 😮

I finally got my new cabinets installed on Saturday. The guy is not a great businessman but, damn! He's a fine craftsman! My cabinets are gorgeous, solid oak, including the drawers and shelves, and stained to match my existing 30 year old oak cabinets. I am beyond pleased!

All to the left of the granite, upper and lower, are new.

Great craftsmanship

Good morning denizens of the diner. My old dog slept until 415 am so I was up then. Now is back snoring next to me. But I am wide awake.

The break in frigid weather starts today🎉.

I have a few errands to run and then grandpas taxi starts during rush hour. Fortunately the drives are shorter so I have more patience wit rooster drivers😂.

Have a good day. BTW and where is my coffee meme?

Both of my parents were avid manual transmission disciples. My mom drove a stick until she was forced to give up her keys at 83.

I learned on a stick. Everytime I went to buy a new car and requested a manual drive, I was met with, "Do you even know how to drive a stick, little lady (or sugar, honey, darlin. Insert platitude here)?" 😡

Both of my vehicles are automatic now.

It's awfully tough to find a stick for sale any more. Petunia would be a stick if'n I had had a choice.

Some kid looked at a couple of Wat's older anvils and noticed that they are "all automatics." He missed that telltale third pedal on the floor and hain't nivver seed a three-on-the-tree afore.

When I was in the hospital with pancreatitis, my husband smuggled my dog in! We were so happy to see each other! She jumped down from his arms onto my bed and snuggled up to me. Good medicine!

Check with the social worker to see if they have therapy dogs who visit with patients. This should be something s/he could arrange.

Sox took wonderful care of his human while he recovered from hip surgery.

Up. Made it past 0400. 'Bout time for cuppa #2. We were slow at work after lunch so I let the other guy go early and I get to come in late as I have to go a-banking to sort some shiznit out. Unfortunately, it has to be done F2F. Last "banker" I talked to called it a "safety deposit box," the one I closed for lack o' need. Silly fucker, it's a deposit box in the safe, ergo it's a safe deposit box.

Some people's kids.

He did do a great job. I worked finishing kitchen cabinets for a while. It is not easy to get that close of a match. The wood can be a shade off and paints can vary in their effect. One time for a beauty shop we had to completely strip down the cabinets and start over. They look great.
