Woke at oh three something but made almost until oh four something. Coffee is on and going away. Today is Dr. Tyler bank day, which might have uber-suction. Just gave Ethyl a good teasing and she rewarded me with ripped flesh and oozing blood. She's so charming. I learned how to change a tire/tyre by watching my father change one when I was 6 or 7 years old.

I remembered which compartment the jack was stashed in the back of my SUV.

And yet - that simple, skinny little hand jack does sweet fuck all when you need to actually change a tire.

Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers who will stop and help when they see a single female doing their best on the side of the road.

If not for the sheriff's deputy and random mechanic that both stopped to assist that hot summer day in 2018, I am pretty sure I would still be on the side of the road saying, "Just once more and we'll have it."

If I had an engineering degree, I would make my millions by creating a pocket-sized hydraulic jack that fits in the back of a car without taking up any more room than a spare tire/tyre would.

Because surely in this day and age we have the technology and know-how to make that happen!!
*stamps foot for emphasis*

And although my jack would be in basic matte black, I would even insist that we make a model in pink ...with glitter!! IYKYK

Those shitty scissor jacks. Not worth the tin to make them, and I have a mangled left hand to show for it. Another story for another day. Try this Bottle jack. They’re even more compact than the rolling floor type, even the baby one shown, and can usually lift as much or more. I keep them in all my vehicles now.

The rains came last night and it’s going to hover around 50 all day. Not bad to finish up some work in the house. My Elves in the Attic were quiet for once. I think they may have left for their winter place down south somewhere.
