The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Oh gosh, that is awful. What a shit show.

So sorry this happened roper.

Damn. How did you get home? Or did you?
Hey, we have similar vocabularies. When the nurses come back empty handed when in recovery, I caught myself almost-saying, You're shitting me? Yes I made it home, luckily my granddaughter is home from LSU on Christmas break.

It's a Hello-Goodnight kind of day
No complaints though - I made it through intact
How your day sometimes goes
I'm so very sorry this happened

Free surgery? I mean, it's the least they can do when she fell on their watch, right?
 Too soon?
The pictures you posted were gorgeous!

Yes, it's probably the stain I don't like. I prefer a more natural look as well.
When the natural wood is that gorgeous, why on earth would you use a dark stain?
Wood Crimes!
There was that abandoned house I got stuck clearing out that time.
It had squatters, and guess what squatters do . . . .
 I feel like the answer is hiding somewhere really close... like right there in the name???
Guess who got her size 18 jeans up and zipped this am.... me thats right....ME

The girls will understand

She may be trying to tooken control of what mind I have left.
Send her my way... she's welcome to what's left of mine
She's in repose on the computer table.

Anyone else having trouble logging into LIt? Couldn’t get in through Safari or Brave this a.m. ? I quit Safari, it came up but wouldn’t go through…then I shut down VPN and it let me…I had updated yesterday but wasn’t running it when I did and had trouble last night also…Lit might be telling me something…
Lit's gone belly-up a few times this week while on my desktop w/ the VPN. If refreshing the page or changing servers doesn't work I just reboot and that fixes it. Annoying AF but it resolves fairly easily. 🤷‍♀️
Gotta guy coming over to help with the Elves in the attic today. Found some caps for the pipe for cheap at Lowe’s. Just gotta find a way to get up yonder.
Cap it - Cap it good!!
Get the varmint out and keep 'em out!
Yep - hits on at least two levels, don't it? :ROFLMAO:
If you master that one handed behind the back over the shoulder boulder holder loop and hook disconnection technique, let us know...
We might like instruction.

Asking for a friend...

Ugh. Too late to nap and too early to call it a day.
Oh, the humanity . . . .
Yeah - didn't get one today either.
Sucks!
Visited my friend at the rehab. Had a good visit. Shit tons of limbs down and one fell right next to my truck. Fairly sizable too.
Sounds like The Boys were looking out for you...

Really glad you had a good visit!!! 🫂
I caught myself almost-saying, You're shitting me?
Impressive - that's a wily sucker! Gets past the best nets. Have heard that one get past so many relatives... gotta be a Family Trait.
@Missk_2022
I absolutely love my new apartment...but I'm not in it yet.
I move in January 30th. It's 1400 square feet, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, fireplace & all the fix'ins. Now I can start packing. I'm moving to Eaton, Ohio...45 miles west from where I am now...
Sounds like an excellent place, Rj!! Congrats 🎉
TY
I can't wait for the move, but it’s very stressful too. And it's in January...
Hmm... just realized most of my moves have all been dead of winter.
Best one? Out for dinner w/ Aunties for New Year's Eve... mentioned some of the shenanigans my roommate and her boyfriend were pulling... next thing you know the whole family is at the apartment moving out all my stuff.
Found a new place and moved again a few weeks later - also in winter. Solo move that time... not as much fun. :ROFLMAO:

Time for me to call it a night...
I have the joy of the Last Saturday Before Christmas at the Post Office tomorrow...
Should be off the hook
Sweet Dreams, spoonies

Exactly the same for me: in UK time!

New rule: no wine after nine!
Cancel that new rule @Missk_2022
Here's a great way to sleep right through for six hours without needing a pee: play sport for two hours and instead of rehydrating with water, try mulled cider instead (fortified with a drop or two of scotch and ginger wine)!

How your day sometimes goes, when you're in your 70's. Mine started as expected; reporting to our local hospital at 0615, for a procedure under general anesthesia. Woke up, feeling not nauseous, or foggy brain, big plus.

Wife accompanied me as my designated driver. Nurses went to retrieve wife to meet me in recovery. Nurses return w/o wife, concern on their faces. They explain on the walk to my room, wife who uses a cane fell in the hallway on her hip. Said they'd take me the ER after I dressed.
We sat in ER waiting room an hour or more, waiting on results. She's admitted with broken hip.

Surgery tomorrow at 0800, full hip replacement.
Neither of us know my daughter's or granddaughter's phone number without our cells. Left mine at home intentionally, she left hers at home by mistake. Fun day, she rated her pain level at a 9.
p.s. I violated the no alcohol rule for 24-hours around hour 12. Merry Christmas, LOL
Good morning Roper

I spent my 60s dealing with multiple sports injuries and a crazy work schedule that all caught up with me at the same time.

I had my hip replacement five years ago but had to wait two years to have it done on our overloaded NHS system.

It was a life-changing success but then I had to deal with several bouts of Covid that knocked me sideways.

It took two years to recover fully, with a deep depression one of the side-effects of Covid.

After lockdown I began playing pickleball, padel and table tennis and for the past two years those three games have helped me move into my 70s with renewed energy. Making new friends through sport is one of the best things for my mental health.

Hope you two recover quickly and can remain as active as possible.

I'll raise a glass of mulled cider later on to join you in violating your no-alcohol rule.

Happy Christmas to you and yours.
