I think my cell phone is getting way worse. Now I'm swearing at motherforklift autocorrect all the time!

It really has deteriorated in the last year. Almost to the point of being unusable. I swear it's because the cell phone provider wants me to upgrade phones. They keep texting me offers for $1000 off a new phone!. (And, when the hell did phones go over $1000!!! I didn't pay that much for my first car!)

I like my phone. It's 4G, and they're trying to push 5G networks, but we don't have any ducking 5G towers around us.
Hell, our 4G doesn't even work half the time! 3G had better coverage through the leaves. 5G is going to suck even more.

It's not unheard of for phone providers to push older stuff out by downgrading service and writing software to use extra battery to make them worse... I'm pretty sure that's what's going on here now.

And it's probably one of those awkward slim slippery as an eel things that you're average ham fisted a-hole like me can't hold on to to save my life!

This one has an extra battery, luckily. With that and a rubber bumper, it's big enough to actually hold on to and not hit the ground every 37.5 seconds!

What can’t you pay them? Cuz their books are closed for end of year?

Just to give some context. Some companies say that you have to pay them by a certain date in December because the accounting people are all closing the books.

I know in early November we have to tell our suppliers to pay us before December 10 or something like that.

Or some companies shut down completely between Christmas and New Year’s.

We decided to travel this weekend, and make the rounds to some relatives we missed out on this Thanksgiving. Roads were snow and slush covered, but would have been fine for the trip except for the occasional drivers varying speeds from 25 in no passing zones to 65 in the passing zones. Maintain speed, or pull over once in a while!

A few along for the ride hope to hit some bookstores today, as we don't have any (worthy ones) at home.

I may or may not find a few stores that sell tools. Although, to be honest it's getting harder to find anything to buy anymore. Same is happening in the big sporting good stores... sigh...

I think it is too. These constant upgrades are a revenue stream for them. They don’t stand by their product anymore.

Morning all. Hope everyone got what their hearts desired from Pere Noel…

Yesterday, the day of recovery that was NOT! Setting up watches and other do-dads. Then the youngest’s computer monitor went out. Checked the app to see if maybe I’d purchased the extended warranty…nope…it shit the bed literally 4 yrs after purchase (it was a Christmas present) so did a chat thing and scheduled a visit for them to check it out…$80 up front just to send it off…then and only then it would be almost as much to fix it than to just get a new one….the system is rigged, but the young one got a new monitor and is happy.

Went up into the attic to cut the pipe for repairs the squirrels have done. After I hoist myself up (I ain’t as young as I used to be…) I see there really is no way I can get to it. The heat pump octopus ducting is just too large…no way to step over but could possibly crawl under…if I had flooring…I need to traverse the joists.

So, abandoned that idea and now it’s up on the roof. I found all the new gear I need to do the repair and a guy at Lowe’s recommended a drill bit with a cutter that I can stick down the pipe and cut it from the inside! Genius!

I have good weather, 72 and sunny, no wind. So a good day to head up 30+ feet. The good news is my work area is right above our back porch so a 10’ ladder to that, then a six foot ladder for access to the pipe. On paper it should be an easy fix….

You’ll get either the brag report or news at 6 that HDH met an untimely end…
