The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Life had other plans for us today. I bought an old trailer that I use with my side by side in the woods. The old owner had a good piece of treated plywood down on the deck, but never secured it in. I wanted to tackle it this morning, but it was frozen solid to the trailer.

So I split kindling till noon.

Ok - I wanted to use it anyway to bring some rounds of wood to the mill for splitting. The only catch? There are TONS of poison ivy vines all over it. That’s where the nasty oils are the worst. Some hacked them off w a hatchet and axe and I stupidly chain sawed some of it off… possibly being the PI right into my face and on my clothes. Even when I was happier got the vines off, there seemed to be hairy stuff all over the bark.

But I picked em up anyway… put it on the trailer and brought em down to be split.

When done, I washed my coveralls in hot water and w detergent to break the oils. Also took a shower. If there were any - but I’m not taking any chances. I still gotta split the wood too, so I gotta be careful again.

Dawn dishwashing soap. It's safe for baby ducks.

It may be made outta baby ducks for all I know.

The white duck here may be the boss. She may have two brain cells.

That price is about what we pay for bulk propane delivered. Getting cans filled at that rate is a good price.

The problem with filling small cans of yourself is you need a source that will transfer liquid propane. Which means flipping the bottle on them old ones, and the new ones with the safety valves won't let liquid out. Without a system to transfer liquid, you just get a nearly empty bottle on the other end.

Apparently they do make refillable 1lb cans, but for often as I use them, I'll just buy new. Seems I changed one on the torch recently, and I bet the one I pulled was 10 years old. I think the one that went on there was the mate from the last two pack I bought...

Can you imagine the waves with 60 mph winds? Dangerous even for rescue boats.
The other day apparently we had 20-25 footers crashing over the breakers. This coming storm should generate higher ones than that.

They're safe where they're at now, unless it comes from the north. If that happens, we'll have two towns under water...

20 lb cylinder $9.95 cash 60 lb cylinder $31.00
Damn good prices compared to here. Refilling the 100#er for the cabin cooking and refrigerator costs almost a $100 bill.
a charcoal grill guy!!
So... Propane is used for a lot of stuff other than a grill. We use NG and charcoal both for grilling/smoking at home, and charcoal only at the cabin.
