Lila in the house.

Happy new year hon!!
Thank you, W! I'm finally back! I was behind about 50 pages so just skimmed some and then came to today!

I've missed you all! But having my grands here for Christmas was an unforgettable experience! We had so much fun! They saw snow for the first time in their lives! 🥰💖❄️💞

0415 this morning. I had an Ethyl cat stuck to my ribcage. It was a bit of an issue as to who was going to prevail. I gave up and got up. Panther was between my knees at one point. TDK was around cuddling a thigh here and there. It was good to see the katkids and better to spend time with them as a clowder.

The human kids didn't visit because Junior has an ailment. He's kind of miserable with it.

I'ma try to get some stuff done around the house today. Laundry looks like a good place to start.

My wife has American Indian on both sides of her family…paternal and maternal great grandmothers. Sadly we don’t know what tribes. I’ve been researching for a few years. We’ve narrowed it down to Tiguan, Apache, possibly some Comanche, but unlikely I think. Anyhow, here is a list of some good ones:

—The Heart of Everything That Is: The Untold Story of Red Cloud—Bob Drury & Tom Clavin
—The Earth is Weeping: The epic Story of the Indian Wars for the American West—Peter Cozzens
—The Apache Wars: The Hunt for Geronimo, The Apache Kid, and the Captive Boy Who Started the Longest War In American History—Paul Andrew Hutton
—Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Imoortal Photographs of Edward Curtis—Timothy egan

Short Nights is about a Photographer who spent over 25 yrs living amongst quite a few tribes out west. The story focuses on him but there is much to be gleaned from the book.

Anyhow…this’ll get ya started.
Thank you for the recommendations.

I need to buy a new pair of waterproof hiking-type boots. The pair I had Out West was past done in. They were becoming alligators, and that will never do. Now, I could have silicone caulked the soles back into place and clamped them for added glue-stuickage, but the tops were pretty disreputable, and so the time had come. I had tooken my leather pair I bought when I was tookening welding class, so I left them there. Now, I need a pair for here. So maybe there be shoe shooping later today.
