It used to be there was a standard wiper blade connector. Not they're all over the map. Different adapters for different cars.

And trying to replace them in 10F weather after the kid got mad and ripped one off to car doesn't help...

Cussing and swearing is written right into the OEM procedure for changing those things. I believe it's actually a requirement!

Funny story behind Mr. White’s cookbook. When. I was a kid, Franc had a TeeVee show. It was a 30 min show of he and his dog, sometimes guests, fishing or hunting and the last 5 mins or so he’d cook what ever they were in the field for. He also had a restaurant that served wild game amongst its fare. It was close to an institution of higher learning that didn’t teach me much, but I did get to sample his Quail a L’Orange!

Over the lockdowns I got to thinking of Ol’ Franc and started doing some “The Google” tiptoeing. Sadly Franc had departed for the great deer camp in the sky. An interview with his children revealed during one of the big hurricanes in 80’s or 90’s, flooded their garage and a treasure trove of his films were destroyed.

The PBS station that carried his show didn’t have any backups, so the only place to find anything is the source of all knowledge…UToob. Usually a vid of old grainy VHS off some dudes teevee.

Two really cool things bout Franc. His old International Scout and his Maul airplane were both outfitted in Black&White Zebra stripe paint jobs!
His logo had that same stripe pattern.

Lastly, he signed off every show with this; “Do yourself a favor, Take a kid fishing!”

That quote always had a special meaning. I had plenty of uncles and a few family friends that “took a kid fishing”…it was a huge deal for this kid.

So, here’s to the Southern Sportsman…an inspiration to a whole lot of us in the Carolinas. He will be the subject of today’s —MZ—

The Coda to this rambling half a cup of coffee work is during that research, I found a couple of his cookbooks on Amazon. When they came in the USMail, one turned out to be an autographed copy!
