The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Okay, up. Had a couple of nice calls with a couple of our Spoonies yesterday. Got some shit done. Got some more to do today. Meh. Shooping list is at least half made. I have to replace the toaster because the old one crapped out. And there is the Back Room to rearrange. Seems some furniture needs to be moved into it. Don't that just figure? Meanwhile, there be coffee.

Ethyl is looking at me . . . .

Rumor has it that our frogs and salamanders can freeze solid, and wake up when they thaw out. Really neat biological tricks to do that.
They hibernate down south too. I read once that something triggers like an antifreeze in their blood that allows them to survive until spring. When the first warm spring rains come, they overrun roads getting to ponds. The sounds at night can be deafening. I hope spring comes in March.

Good morning Wat, Wonderer and other denizens of the greasy spoon. Enjoying your coffee while you catch up on the great moving thread?

I recently installed an AARP app that tracks how well I drive. I did it to give a more objective evaluation of my driving. My son made some comments on my driving that made me think I might have some senior moments. I may need to hang up my taxi duties. If so, I can help my grandkids in other ways.

It a little cooler here. 15F today, or -9.5C...
I’m not in UP cold, but I feel used to this weather now. It was 30° yesterday and today and felt kind of, well… warm.

We will get to high 40s by end of the week. My pumpkins from last year or frozen in ice… but the thaw will allow me to get them, and next weekend is the date of the pumpkin massacre where will shoot them and smoosh them for next years seeds.

I find that my occasional driving fuck-ups come from being a touch less focused. As such, I have control over tightening that crap up. While coming home the other day, it became very apparent that half an hour at the rest stop was a winning concept. Twenty-three minutes later, all was refreshingly well.

TDK had been drinking so I couldn't let her have the wheel.

You should be very proud of yourself as we are. To take positive steps to do a self objective evaluation and not just thinking of your own safety but those around you is very inspirational. A person like you just by your mere existence will be an inspiration and comfort to everyone around you. You my friend are what we call a very SELFLESS individual. 🤗😘💋❤️🌹
