The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Haven't been here in a while. Had a sad, getting older moment, before Christmas. When I decorate my tree I listen to a librivox version of a Christmas Carol. This year the dates popped up on one of the voices: Kara Shallenberg 1969 to 2023. This made me so sad. I love her narration, and she was almost a decade younger than I am. The story was multiple narrators all of whom are quite good (it's versions 6).

52 years ago today, January 18, 1974, The Six Million Dollar Man premiered as a weekly television series on ABC.

Based on Martin Caidin’s novel Cyborg (the show’s original working title), the concept was first introduced through three TV movies in 1973 before becoming a full-fledged series. The regular series aired on ABC for five seasons, from January 18, 1974, to March 6, 1978.

The show starred Lee Majors as astronaut Steve Austin, who is rebuilt with bionic enhancements after a near-fatal crash, turning him into a government agent with superhuman strength, speed, and vision. Majors quickly became one of the biggest pop culture icons of the 1970s.

We can rebuild him….
