The idiom "strike while the iron is hot" comes directly from blacksmithing, meaning to shape metal when it's heated and malleable, and figuratively, to seize an opportunity immediately before it cools and becomes difficult or impossible to work with, appearing in English at least since the 15th century, with early uses found in Chaucer.

Why didn’t I think of that? Cooks it is, and I can’t think of anyone else besides you two to make festive meals! You might have to keep your medical kit close by. Some of us are known to be accident prone!

We’ve ‘bout got our crew filled out. If any want to volunteer for anything particular, throw yer hand up. This is a boat, so we may need two shifts? Actually it’s every 4 hrs, so, don’t be shy!

Still in the land of swaying palm trees and tropical breeze kisses. We’ve had an “issue” and the company has left us in place. 😁. Darn…

When I was a kid my uncle brought all us kids back one of those lava rock tiki idols. Mine had red eyes and looked fierce. Not sure what happened to it…Momma cleaned house is my guess…So went out looking to see and they have similar but not like the original. I seemed to have heard the Hawaiian’s didn’t like those being peddled anyhow?

Picked up some cool wooden trinkets to hand out to the tribe. Tourist trap shop was going out of business so got 20% off…bonus.

Pele doesn't like it! She'll smite you for taking her rocks!

That said, Pele apparently stays in Hawaii. There's no shortage of lava rock around Mt. St. Helen.

I’ve seen three species of colorful birds I’ve never seen before!

I saw some parrots flying around but couldn’t get the phone to zoom in time. They also have a Yellow Billed Cardinal that looks similar to the Red Crested but the body and wings are all white. I have pics of the three above, but they were ground shots and they don’t look as cool as these!

BTW…that Duck is beautiful! What is that? A Chinese Wood Duck?
It's a Mandarin duck. I think it's gorgeous! 😍
