The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I have the motor home so I can abandon ship. We came down here in the winter a few times and if I had to do it over again I would have kept the cabin in Pa and brought the motorhome down here in the winter.
After this winter I am considering a tour of the south next winter to visit my family. I would make it a month long tour 😂

Yes, go early and get a second and third opinion. I had a small lump in my neck and my family doc and a VA doc shrugged it off. I went to a ENT and two days later I was in surgery and a week later I was in surgery again after the first surgery healed.
I’m always a little bit iffy about the VA.

Their prescription program is excellent and also if you need minor medical equipment, it’s quite good. The care? Not as much.

But it’s getting better

We dipped down to -11F last night. It's warmed up to -8F right now. Looks like it's coming back up based on the plot.
Oh, yeah, it's still snowing.

Old dog decided she didn't have to pee this morning. Have you ever hear a dog say "Fuck This!" without using words?
That was her. We'll try again at lunch time.

I think she's trying to learn to hibernate right now.

I suffered the Tortures of The Damned trying to find a couple of grain shovels because actual snow shovels are out of the fucking question in Weaseltown. Not at the big box stores. There were two at the hardware store, so I bought both of them.

I hope that I caused Panic.
Grain shovels are the best! Our local hardware store carries them, and lots of varieties. We one that's completely poly, and it's growing on me. I know someone who bought a long handled version of that for shoveling roofs. I don't think that's quite what I want yet.

Man, I saw people buying the shit-eating little packages of firewood at the hardware store. If this fucking storm sucks like all that, you'd need an entire fucking tree not to die of exposure.
No backup fire wood here.
But there is 1000 gallons of backup heat in a tank. And a generator to run the backup furnace. And a backup generator for the generator.
Next upgrade is a backup generator to a the backup generator*, that uses the fuel in the 1000 gallon tank for heat.

*The generator backup orders may switch, subject to change.

As long as we don't lose power.

Power is a little safer here. Now. Stoopid can't get to the poles with their cars and truck unless they're really really really trying.
The driving is now like bumper bowling.

In a lot of places the mailboxes are just able to keep their heads above water. I saw a few yesterday that couldn't.
All lined up with only their faces sticking out and snow for two feet above. I should have stopped to take a picture.
Some of the drifts were above the passenger side window on the truck.

Well, There's the gas pedal, the brake pedal, the clutch pedal, the gear shift lever, the idle speed lever, the spark advance/retard lever, the fuel mixture screw, and the choke lever. And no synchro in the transmission.

Most people fail at the clutch pedal. 🤷‍♂️
Double clutch. Ahhhhh the good old days. Now I just get in select destination and press the go button and try to stay attentive
