The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I think the Marvin's I got [Infinity I think was the grade] Are as good or better than Andersen or Pella. And much less cost. Plus the dealer that did them was 150 per window -15 of them. Also a nice break. The doors are what are really expensive. And in this ~30year old house worth the cost. The main front and back were not simple and the guy who did it was a good craftsman. Enjoyed watching. They seal well and don't fall open or closed... I forget the brand but if someone goes outside with a bright light you cannot see it on the inside. I've seen some crappy installs. The difference after insulation upgrades provided far more comfort than the windows. The windows are still better to look at and through. The new door with top and bottom bolt and side latch are just wow. You lift on the handle and can instantly feel you are on the other side.

Air infiltration/drafts are what cause discomfort. Eliminating them increases comfort. It's what you feel that makes you cold.

People underestimate OM as a serious error, and some at a grave peril.

Do not misunderestimate OM.

Ever.

For any reason . . . .
These aren't that bad. It's a retro kit. But with the Anderson windows, they have the track built into the frame. So you just have to be careful. You don't mess up the frames. And then i'm using silicone caulk. Make sure I get a good seal.

You sound like you know what you're doing and have this project well in hand. I've done a few windows jobs. It's good work if you can get it.

In the spring I'm doing one casemint window for the kitchen. The problem with that is it's crank style which can lead to more problems with the crank mechanism
I only have 2. On the wall where the kitchen table is supposed to be. I got one opens west and one east so I can scoop the breeze if I like it. It didn't make sense to get more but I wanted them.

For a reference, one building here has 12 foot walls. The snow on the ground is 18 inches from touching the snow on the roof.
That's a lotta snow!
Reblowing the insulation in the attic
My association went with a "Green Company" that touted blown insulation for sensitive customers.
🐂 :poop: !!

I am not satisfied I need 'new'. But there are times I wish my station on the couch had that heat knob like the seats in my car.
Tech Sofa: Why Buy a Sofa with Heated Seats?
That is cool. You did that effortlessly.
Thank you

I'm doing some budgeting for the next building. It's about time I did what I want to and not settle for what exists already.
Me too.... the chairs i adored were 2000 each..... ummm no.
Same. Champagne tastes on a beer budget 🤷‍♀️

More moving parts = more potential points for failure. Hence the importance of not going on the cheap
You're gonna be a fantastic mom!
I'm so excited for you @Missk_2022 !!! 🥰😻😻

Before he ghosted, The Handyman was angling to replace my windows (not a euphemism). Given his performance to that point, I never told him but the only way he was touching my windows was if he was going to clean them. Also - not a euphemism!
Better than Weasel Brand Winderz . . . .
Careful... I think that's one of @Wonderer67 's joints 🤨
Renewal, by anderson, give me an estimate of eighty thousand I'll wind up doing this for a little over thirteen.
Their reputation precedes them.
I would 💯 consider purchasing Anderson windows
My budget will 💯not support considering Renewal by Anderson

^^ The Threadmantasy I didn't know I needed 🍿
I may have been.
I'm not tellin'.
Oooh... the plot thickens :devilish: :ROFLMAO:
Sounds like "Renewal" means "fist enema."
Direct translation
Thanks. I will for sure share pics
Yay!!
We shall support you in your most profound feline-caused sadness.
Is it though? Sadness I mean. I rather enjoyed it.
Mind you I was in an apartment where I was prohibited from so much as painting the walls. So this seemed a bit like a secret room - just for the cats. :ROFLMAO:
Okay, time to turn in here in Weaseltown. There be sleep weasels what needs to show up and get busy.

You Spoonies play nicely now, ya hear???
Night, @Wat_Tyler

*whispers* Quick - break out the secret stash... Wat's asleep 🤭
