Well that's another game season finished . Its R and R time for me and the boys. Its been a great season with Jack doing brilliantly. Ben's injury took a bit of the edge off but it amazes me the boys dont get more injuries.

Now I have 20 days on the merse for geese and a week hunting boar in Spain next week. I do love the merse and times like this morning in the mud just hoping for a shot and enjoying the solitude. Just me and Sam!

I baked today! I decided to try G's shortbread recipe. IDK if anyone else has tried it. If so, what did you think? The cookies turned out pretty good! The dough was STIFF! And a bit crumbly. I'm thinking the next time I make this, I will add a bit more butter. And maybe roll the dough thinner to make sandwich cookies with jam. 😋

Glad somebody has tried it and yes you can add a little more butter and perhaps roll a
little thinner. You haven’t said how they tasted! Rolled thinner and raspberry jam between two gives you Empire Biscuits!

Lil and i were talking about making a dessert called a bakewell tart... and i said i would like to try to make some scones.... then we talked about our trip to scotland to see you and the boys...
