The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Work was workish.

Not bad. But not good either. My coworker is retiring. I’m happy for her but she is doing all of these volunteer days, taking a two week vacation etc. seems over the top and taking advantage.

She’s no slacker but it doesn’t seem right to me. At least I would never do something like that. Everything after you retire is a volunteer day and vacation. Seems like gaming the system.

Oh well. To each their own.

After work I dropped by the farm and filled up the wood stand. We’re pretty much selling out of wood every two days now.

Mrs wonderer had some left over lasagna I made at Christmas time ready for dinner when I got home. Yum!

Then we planned out our Florida trip in mid March. We are considering doing the auto train. You load up your car and leave Washington DC at 4pm and by 9am the next day you’re in Orlando. Anyone ever do that? It gets mixed reviews but might be a fun adventure.

We’re gonna stay on the west coast and catch some spring training games - one of our friends sons is playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and I’d like to see some other games.

My lad had a lexicon, too. I suspect that all kids do. I think they should be embraced and not mocked or corrected into oblivion. Childhood shoon't suck.
Just communicating they way they know how.

We had one I will always remember. We asked them "Do you want me to carry you?". The ask from them became "carry you?" when they were tired.

Sounds like fun. So, only one maybe constructive comment. Wheel bearings.

Apparently for a while one of the big three had a lot of trouble shipping cars across country. The wheel bearings would fail prematurely. It was traced back to shipping them via rail. The clack-clack-clack of cars rolling over gaps in the rails is actually quite violent. Especially since the wheels aren't rolling, so the grease oozes out from between the rollers and the races. Basically you have metal to metal contact, with the train clack-clack clacking in them like a hammer. This damages the bearing surfaces leading to very early failure.

It's the same reason you don't want to beat a rusty brake rotor or drum off a wheel hub on a car. Yse heat or a puller, or you'll be replacing bearings real quick.

If bearings are rolling, there is a film of grease, so there actually isn't contact.

We really need a tribologist in the house. What's that, like the second time in a week???

Hope it didn’t break anything! I don’t know if it’s because toes are far away from the heart or if wearing socks, doesn’t give them enough hair, but I have found the television injuries. Take a long time to heal.

Hope there is no significant damage and I hope you find good gloves! ❤️🫂
Thankfully, there's no real damage. I'll know tomorrow about the gloves. I'm just looking for them to cover more of my fingers but leave the tips out. I think full fingered gloves would irritate me because of my nails.

I'll know on Friday if I like them.

And they wave back to themselves when you wave at them because that's 100% what they see.

They're not st000pid.
