This is funny. Our company has a product called cat in a box. Cat in the insurance industry is short for catastrophe, so if something happens in a geographical circle or box we pay out depending on the severity.

It’s a very complex product, typically use for areas that will have mass destruction if a natural catastrophe happens… Usually to protect against a hurricane, or a large earthquake.

Slow day on this thread, very busy day at work.

Going go away for a few days, so trying to wrap everything up on the job.

And complicating things as I got a flat tire last night… normally would not be a big deal, but it’s a hybrid and it doesn’t have a spare… so I had to get a towed last night which made for a long evening.

Stuff like this keeps one on their feet!

I’ve been unable to catch up for several days, so I hope everyone is well and managing weather and health and all that good stuff… ok.

I went in, I gave the new kid a hurry up orientation after I helped him get the job running, said goodbye to the property management woman, and hit the road. I called my Buddy who’s on the other job and told him what was up. I ducked the calls from the construction manager, the project manager, and the vice president. The kindest thing I can say to any of them is nothing at all.


Honestly, they had their chance.

But I promised my buddy who’s disabled I would clear his driveway. He lives abt 20’miles north of me. So got home, loaded the snowblower, trekked up there and got his driveway cleared. Someone had driven over the snow. Come to find out he had to call 911 cuz he couldn’t move. So his driveway is mostly cleared when he comes back home.

Maybe the most annoying thing is the delay in touching a 'button' and the computer actually responding. Sometimes you don't know if you hit it, or it's just taking it's sweet old time responding. I've seen the delay be several seconds. Then suddenly you hear "beep, beep, beep, beep" and the setting it still off. Usually it's worse after startup/booting the display. But still annoying as fuck!
