I've done an Alaska cruise. It was a really wonderful trip!

I still want to go to Antarctica but not for 5 months!

The cruise starts from Florida and then frog-hops down the Caribbean and the eastern South American coast and comes back similarly. Still, it's a long effin' time.

Also, cruise ship cuisine is a serious diet buster if ever there were one.

Interesting day today. Not in the "how cool" type of interesting. More the WTAF type of interesting.

Woke up to pounding rain. Like biblical rain. 40 days and 40 nights rain. I looked out the window and saw literal sheets of water falling from the sky. The street was a river! We just don't get that type of rain here. Thankfully, it didn't last all day.

When I woke up again, I had a sore throat and a cough. I suspected I might get something when I was on the plane home Sunday evening. Some guy was coughing, sounded just like whooping cough. No mask, of course. Thankfully, I'm UTD on my vaccines, so unlikely to get pertussis. I'm just annoyed. No fever and I'm drinking gallons of fluids.

On a brighter note, I did figure out lighting for my hearts. I like the look. It's just a puck light with the top of a black sock as a collar.

Insh'Allah that it's something st000pid, simple, and very inexpensive to repair.


The furnace here was old when I moved in and here it is, 20 years later, and it's still here and working. It can be noisy sometimes, but it works.

Up. Coffee. Slept in a bit, which is surprising. Warmer today and partly sunny. Around Here is calling out for consolidation and preparation for relocation. Trash truck comes today, so a bit more out the door and more to follow. Gotta go to the liquor store and get boxes for books. And the truck needs a bath and an oil change. I have time to do those things now myself, which is as it should be.

The trick is not to allow tasks to swell to fill the amount of time in a day. I'm better at this working for you than I am while working for me. I hate severe regimentation, but it is necessary sometimes in order to kick some things into line.

And then I saw Lou Holtz died. As a Carolina kindof alumni of his era, damn. Letting that sink in some. Enjoying the memories.

Awww man. I was in the terminal in CLT one day doing some PLP with the post and I notice this guy keeps looking my way. I turn around and do the “you look’n at me?”

He gets up and makes a beeline, but he speaks to the guy on the other side of the post…Lou Holtz! . I heard his voice before I saw him. I just listened to them make pleasantries. This would have been around the time he was hired at Carolina. RIP Coach.

It’s over the hump day but not weekend unless you’re a college kid day. Back to the doc for a regularly scheduled tinker’n. I’m sick of being sick and I’m sick of docs. On the bright side. Practice starts tomorrow for the kickoff of the Formula 1 season. This is a new transition for the next generation cars. Drivers aren’t to happy as it’s 50% Lectrics/50% Powertrain.

It’s going to be a juggling contest of harvesting battery. There are already complaints. They should just bring back the V10…if you’ve ever heard the scream of a V10 at full song…goosebumps.
