The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

If I get up and take a shower I will be fine. I’m good about drinking water. I like the nettipot, but am lazy. I find getting the water ready annoying. I use a lot of saline even when not all dried out.
If you have post nasal drip or don’t feel it but are losing your voice…. Astelin has been my go to for years. Now it is OTC. The recipe is almost as good as the real thing. Sold as Astepro.
My experience with sleep is get the 8 or 9 hours if you can. You can’t bank sleep. Even when symptoms make you feel like you are already asleep. Realistically no matter how long I sleep I get about 7 hours of real sleep. Most nights it’s 4 or so and I have to pee. If the tv is off I get real sleep after that but 730 I’m partially awake. Sleeping but somehow involved in my dreams. Or asleep but one eye open like a dog listening for the food sounds.
My ear still aches, I can feel a gland on the roof of my mouth and I am having trouble hearing over the tinnitus on that side.

As a 70+ 90 lb female Indian doctor told me once…”Neti Pot is good yeah!”

Just remember to use distilled water and NOT TAP water…something about some poor doood got a brain ameba or ear wig or someth’n…
I don't use distilled water but I do bottled water. I like it between 103 and 110 degrees and use the salt packets that came with the Neil Med version.
I like Neil Med gel saline pump spray. And when things get so bad you need Afrin, the chemicals in it are changed now. The Neil Med version of Afrin with menthol in it I actually like. Can't believe I would put menthol up my nose. I use it when one side is clogged or dripping and I want to go for a walk. Just clear it and go.

I have to do neti pot when no one is home. While they would think it is disgusting, I find it amazing how long I can make it dangle. Where was all that? I hope that isn't brain matter? are thoughts that have crossed my mind. I like when its done and my ears pop like a little dinger letting you know process complete.

The other thing I find strange about the neti pot is I can only do it one direction. It doesn't go left to right. Or is it right to left? I haven't needed it yet this year.

Use lots of it. The worst thing is just a single spray. You need to flush those sinuses. 😂
Pricey but Neil Med makes a bottle that you can use like a neti pot. Blast the stuff through there. I suggest you use the neti pot first so you know how to let it pass. I like that one because the saline feels as if it is carbonated.
Arm and hammer used to make one that was a pump. No idea why they stopped. I liked that one better than the pressurized ones.

SWMBO has long ditched the Neti in favor of those nasal sprays. Says it works just as good.

I kind of liked the whole ritual of doing the Neti pot. BTW…I used tap water for years…🙄

Don’t do as I do kids. Once the ameba saw what was in my brain…he couldn’t get out fast enough🤣

I don’t know who or what this is…but I’m pretty sure y’all get a kick out it!

Methods to manage sinusitis:
That's a good list - especially this time of year when everything starts kicking off
I found a very full spray bottle of saline yesterday.
w000t!

spray 'em like you'd clear an air filter... nasal passages are the body's air filter
Aghhhh…that’s right…the time changed…

Pick one. Just go to one time. I personally like Standard, just because it seems to fit with my bio-rhythms but that’s always a hot topic of discussion. Just pick.
Nominee: Underrated Post of the Day 🏆
I remember the CDC bulletin about many years back. The rare ameba was in untreated shallow ground water well. Chlorine would have killed it. It would not have survived a deeper well. Most of the time it’s in the muck of small ponds. Don’t snort the dirty water.
But also - distilled water (sterile) because why put chlorine, impurities, and possible bacteria up your nose?
I don't use distilled water but I do bottled water.
Do you boil it first? To sterilize? Bottled water can stil contain impurities you might not want to put inside your nose. 🤷‍♀️

I use the NeilMed Squeeze Bottle. Felt like I might flood my ears with a Netti Pot. Found a video on YouTube that was very helpful. Gotta get the angle right and then it's pretty easy. I couldn't find the one I watched but there's a gazillion of them on the site. Head tilt is the key IMHO
Got greeted by gracie cat
Be sure to tell her that TDK sez hai.
I did she gave me a sliw blink
Definition: Feral Cat  😂

@Greylag i made cottage pie.... i fancied it up and made the mashed potato topping cheesy.... i used what i had

And i called it cottage pie cause i used beef

You can call it Fred if you want to.

The Landlady called about someone local was/is butchering a steer and wanted to know who wanted 10 or so pounds o' beef of the non-Monsanto variety. I think it was a couple of steaks, several pounds of burger, and 2-3 roasts. This may become a thing when Wat has moved there.

Growing up mom/dad would get 1/2 a cow from a local butcher. That was the majority of our red meat for the year.
One time the butcher had someone back out on 1/2 a pig and knew we had a big family. My dad splurged and everyone loved it! There was always more demand than supply. Even getting a friend to split a pig with us didn't get a spot on the list again.

Finally warned up here, but really windy today. One car needed an oil change, so it got that. But need to pick more for the next one. Usually keep enough for half a dozen changes.

This time change has me all messed up. Not a fan.

Found out a neighbor fell off his roof and died not too long ago. Snow shoveling can be dangerous...

Feeling lazy today. Time to put some cardio in, so I can say I wasn't lazy all day...
