The Adventures of Xena In Lands of Turmoil

Xena

As the blood poured from my veins, and I fell to my knees, a smile was locked on my lips. Bliss poured from me. I opened my mouth to speak, nothing came out. Oddly, I caught my chakrum before I went to Hades. Blackness filled my emptyness with eternal pain.

I was happy to go to hell....Hades would pay for this....

************************

Dazed, shapes swirled around me. I opened my eyes. Reaching for my throat, I noticed the blood gone. The chakrum in my hand still dripping with my own blood, as a reminder.

I was suddenly surrounded. Men, woman, ........my enemies, obviously happy to see me here.

Obviously upset, and......revengful.

Hades

Hades did not comment on her lack of appetite, the newly deceased often took awhile to regain it.
He was overjoyed just to have such a lovely creature across the table from him. She seemed interested in his story of Olympian Sibling rivalries and showed a great deal of interest as he outlined his plans for the renovation of Hell.
He told her too of his part time wife and his lonliness in the months of her absence. He wondered if perhaps she...Gabrielle might be willing to be his helpmeet in those months, that somehow he needed the calming effect of a woman to be really effective as a despot of the damned.
Hades he said needed a womans touch.

She realised with astonishment that he was offering to make her the part time Queen oh Hell!

Gabrielle

Gabrielle sat there listening to the ruler of the underworld and pushing the food on her plate around, not feeling very hungry and, somewhere, a warning at the back of her mind said not to touch the food.

Looking up in startlement at his offer, Gabby's brow was drawn as she considered it.

"Well," She begin a little hesitantly,"I suppose I am here to stay so helping you with the place wont be a problem. But there seems to be something I have to do first. I get the feeling that I havent done something but I cant...remember...what it was."

The frustration in her voice was evident as she tried to force herself to remember why she was here and just what she had left undone.

Xena, Warrior Princess

However, Xena did not forget who or what she was doing.

Grabbing the Chakrum loosely, she flung it against the wall, hitting the stone, sending debris everywhere, the chakrum hit a few of the dead, leaving a path....at least for a moment. Grabbing the chakrum from the air with a leap, She had a chance to escape the mob.

With a long battle cry, she did a precise flip through the air, hurtling herself over the angry mob and into a tunnel.

"OHHHHHHH HADES......LOOKY WHO FOUND YA!" her eyes were wild, crazed, she yelled to the dark mist that seemed to live and seep through all of hell.

"Come and get me....." She trailed her sword along the walls of the tunnel. Blood seeped and oozed as if from flesh.

"Scared Hades? Leave her alone!" She said, her voice raspy and wild.

Iolaus

Iolaus looked at his long time friend. He had travled most of the world, and underworld just for him, and now he was saying that he could just leave.
"I don't think so. You're not going in there alone. I am coming with you, we stick together, no matter what."
He paused, looking at Aphrodite. He nodded bravely, "I need to go with Herc, he can't do this alone."
He only looked back at Joxer once, feeling sorry for the guy. It was so odd how he didn't even bother to look at Hercules. That didn't make much sense.
There was no time to think of this though, hell was awaiting.

Re: Xena, Warrior Princess

"OHHHHHHH HADES......LOOKY WHO FOUND YA!"

Snapping my head in the direction of the voice, I was in momentary shock. She sounded far away, but it was definitely Xena.

"Come and get me....."

Oh, someone's gonna come and get ya' but it ain't Hades. I'm not about to let this opportunity pass me by. As I stand, making sure I have my sword, I hear...

"Scared Hades? Leave her alone!"

I guess the rumours are true. Gabby must be here somewhere. Too bad I hadn't been able to get my hands on her but it doesn't matter since Xena's here. Although, I'd love to have Gabby dear as an audience when I take Xena out once and for all. Time to head out. We wouldn't want the bitch to think someone was actually scared.

"Oh no, Xena. I'm not scared and I'm not leaving you alone," I mutter under my breath as I head out the door to find my nemesis.

OOC: Lava, you have a PM.

Hades

Hades stood and crossed over to the woman. How warm she still was!. He could feel her glowing like a bon fire on a winter night. He was reaching out to touch her when he sensed the disturbance.
Something...someone was coming, leaping, surging,
bounding, running...Xena!

With a click of his long fingers the Hell Wraithes were around him. Their black hair pulled back, weapons in hand. Legs spread, breasts jutting defiantly, they surround him and Gabrielle.

Where, he wonders is that Damned Dog When you need him!

Aphrodite

Aphrodited sighed and hooked her arms through first Hercules and then Iolaus' arms.

"Hang on, guys, this journey is totally trippin," She said and then all three disappeared in a shower of sparks and hearts...

To reappear in a very dark, very hot cavern that no mortal could reach while alive. Where no mortal wanted to reach while alive.

Letting go of the heroes' arms, Aphrodite crossed them over her ample breasts and shivered. "Ugghhh. And Hades wonders why no one wants to write love sonnets about this place."

Stepping back from Hercules and Iolous, she raised a hand in a jaunty good bye.

"Watch your step, guys. Hades still hasnt house trained that beast of his. I am sooo out of here."

And in a whirl of sparkles and light, the two men were left alone.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle watched as Hades came nearer and nearer. Then as he reached down for her. Something about this was not right. If only she could remember!

And then she heard the voice. It was so familiar. And the vision of the dark haired woman came before her again and she knew the two went together.

Standing, she looked towards the door to the chamber. If her visions were any indication, this woman was her ticket to regaining her memory. She moved forward towards the door only to be blocked by the Wraithes as they surround her and Hades.

Frustrated, she turns to him. "Please, I dont know why I have to go to her but I do. Let me out so I can see who it is and talk to her. Please?"

"Why don't you sit calmly Gabrielle. I sense your friend will find her way to us quick enough."

The Wraithes had their weapons poised and
the ground ws begiining to shake with the approach of a terrible Beast.

Xena in.........Here Hades Hades......heeeeeeerrre HADES HADES

Xena shouted loudly down the corridor. "Hades, do you think I am stupid? I have been here before.....such a rude host....not even here to welcome me....."

Her eyes were wild with the tradmark look of insanity that only she can pull off.

Stabbing her sword deep into the wall, she reveled in the sight of the blood oozing in a stream down the wall.

"Here Hades Hades!" She called, turning around in ravage circles in the hall way.

"GIVE ME GABRIELLE! NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Her voice almost demonic.

Silently, I thanked Ares for his devastation to my soul.....now, I could kill without thinking twice...

She's mad he thought. The rumours are true. To welcome her is to welcome chaos and haded ran an orderly Hell.
He nodded to the Wraithes to be ready but he had little hope They could hold off Xena for long.
Ceberus was running a dead heat with her. It was a toss up as to who would arrive first.

"Relax Gabrielle. Let's see what happens shall we?"

Gabrielle

Gabrielle shook her head and tried to run for the door of the chamber. All she knew is she had to get to the owner of that voice. Something in her had to search it out. It was as if it was part of her.

A wraith blocked her way and again she tried to avoid it only to be blocked again. In frustration, she looked around for something to use in order to get to the door.

Looking over by the throne that was carved from the very rock itself, she saw a long candelabra and grabbed it, knocking it against the wall and dislodging the two ends. Relying on instinct alone, she then ran the short distance between herself and the wraiths and used the pole to vault over them and then land in a run towards the door.

Keeping the sturdy pole in her hand, she strained to hear the voice once again. She could feel a rumbling in the ground beneath her and knew something big was coming her way. She needed to move and she needed to move now. She had no doubt that the man in the room could summon her back if he wished to and she honestly didnt know her way around this place. She was taking a chance on getting lost here. She just hoped the man was distracted enough so that she could find the owner of the voice before either of those two things happened.

Picking a corridor, she ran down it, pole clutched tightly in her hand. "Here!," She called out to the voice she had heard,"Here! I am here! Where are you?"

Hercules

Aphrodite, true to her word, had delivered the heroes to Hell, then rapidly departed, the echoes of her warning not yet faded from the air before she was gone. Iolaus looked at Hercules, "Beast?" he asked.

Hercules paused a moment, then nodded. "Cerberus. Hades found them as a puppy, and raised them on ambrosia-laced kibbles." Catching Iolaus' quizzical look at the way he referred to 'them' as 'a puppy,' Hercules explained further. "Cerberus is a three-headed dog. A really, really big dog. Each head is different, so I always called it 'them.' They really are a good dog, but very, very protective. So long as they stand guard, no soul gets out, and no mortals get in."

Iolaus spoke up, "But, if Aphrodite told us to watch out for him, who is guarding the gates of Hell?"

Grimly, Hercules said, "Good question. Let's go find Xena and Gabrielle, and get them the hell out of Hell, before something really bad happens."

Looking over Hercules' shoulder at a nearby tunnel mouth, Iolaus gulped, "Uh, Herc, ol' buddy? Would a 30 foot tall, 3-headed dog count as just bad, or really bad?"

Hercules winced, then smelt the foul breath of the giant mastiff. He turned slowly, saw Cerberus, and spoke as calmly as possible under the circumstances, "Nice doggie... nice doggie..."

Xena

Xena's head turned towards the sounds of Gabrielle's sweet lost voice.

"I'm coming for you Gabrielle."

She didn't seem to know who I was...Gabby would be able to recognize my voice from a thousand leagues away, in this life or the next.

I ran down the corridor, jumping up and out of the way of the vixens that were barely clothed, pushing them out of my way, getting angry.

That is when I saw the flash of blonde hair.

I landed right in front of her. I smiled. She didn't seem to recognize me.

"Gabrielle?" I cocked my head in question. I drew my sword.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle ran down the corridor, feeling the loss of precious time as she tried to sort one passageway from the other.

Suddenly she heard the all-too-familiar voice calling her and she stopped to try to get an idea of where it was coming from. Before she could do so, a figure in leather dropped in front of her and the pole in her hand was instinctively raised in a defensive position.

Gabrielle stopped, stunned. There before her was the face that had been haunting her since she arrived here. For a moment she couldnt move, couldnt think. And then the face before her stopped smiling and reached for her sword and Gabrielle backed away.

"No...please, I...I dont know," She said, her pole raised to fend off an attack. For some reason she knew she must not fight this woman and it wasnt so much fear as the fact that it simply felt wrong ,"I dont know how I got here or who you are but I see you...your face all the time in my mind. Please....please....what is this all about?"

OOC...
If anyone can give me some kind of synopsis of the story I'd appreciate it. I was running Hades as a laid back and low profile sort of fellow, hoping I could pick up the flow of the adventure.
I am really not sure how to play this character which is a shame since I see so much potential. For instance if at this point I go into a rage and intervene to reclaim Gabrielle am I skewing the story? You are all experienced players who have run these characters before. I'm the new kid on the block. If you'd rather search out a new Hades I'll understand. I apologise for posting an OOC post here and will delete it as soon as I hear from you.
Thanks

Iolaus

Ooc: As I heard the story, your supposed to die by Xena's hands. So, just get your character killed, and everything should be fine.

Iolaus watched as Hercules tried to calm down the feriouc dog or dogs, or whatever the hell it was.
"Yeah, that's great," he watchd Herc's attempts, "You just keep doing that."
Iolaus ran down the corridor, looking for something, anything that would help in this situation. Up ahead was a huge boulder. It looked unmovable, but he knew just the righ half god that could move it.
"HERCULES!" he called out, hearing the man run, and something very big running behind it.
"Quick, get behind that boulder. When I say, push as hard as you can."
He didn't stop to hear Herc argue. There wasn't time. Iolaus looked up at the huge puppy, grinning foolishly.
"Come on you wet slimy piece of hades dung."
It ran at him with full speed.
"Now, Herc, now."
He watched the thing come at him with a horrendous speed. A vicious row of teeth followed by two more were barring down on him. He still didn't move though, he couldn't. He was too scared to run.
"Any time Herc." It was barely a squeak out of his mouth.

Calisto

"No...please, I...I dont know," I hear Gabrielle say. I watch in the shadows as she raises the pole in her hands, as if to attack. Oh, this could get very amusing. Xena's precious Gabby fighting her?

Anticipating the despair Xena would feel when she was attacked by her love, I relax against the wall with a smile.

"I dont know how I got here or who you are but I see you...your face all the time in my mind. Please....please....what is this all about?"

Damn, guess it was too much to ask. If she's questioning what's going on, there'd be no fighting today. I step out of my little niche, still shrouded in shadows.

"Hello, Xena. I knew I'd see you in hell one day."

OOC: Lava, you have a PM.

Hercules

"Now, Herc, now." Iolaus sounded pretty worried, so Hercules gave the massive boulder even more effort. Muscles straining to their limit, he picked it up, and heaved it at Cerberus "Fetch, boy! Fetch!" The boulder struck against the far cavern wall, and Cerberus chased after it.

"Now might be a really good time to head that way!" Hercules pointed to the direction Cerberus had come from, and started running down the tunnel, Iolaus close on his heels.

"CERBERUS HEEL!"
There was no mistaking the sepulcheral voice. The monstrous dog skidded to a stop digging 3 inch troughs in the Lava stone.
Herc and Iolus stopped too and turned to face an irate Hades.
"What in Hell are you doing down here Herc?
Xena's rampaging around and I've lost Gabrielle, just as I was about to talk her into filling in for Persephone for awhile. It's beginning to feel like the Agora on Bargain Day down here!"

Gabrielle

The dark haired woman had had no time to respond before a blonde haired one had appeared. At the new woman's appearance, something inside of Gabrielle had tensed and a bright warning went off in her head. This person was DANGER!

The blonde woman had called the raven haired one Xena and Gabrielle knew somehow that was right. Xena. The name fit the woman and suddenly Gabrielle felt a bond tighten through the confusion of her fuzzy memory. She couldnt filter all the details yet but she KNEW that she belonged at the side of this raven haired woman called Xena and her body took over.

"NO!," Gabrielle said, moving to Xena's side, the pole in her hand coming up for an attack move now, her hands tightening just enough to keep it steady and firm. "You wont get to her, whoever you are. I wont let you hurt her."

Stupid Cookies^

Gabrielle did not know what she could do to this blonde haired woman and, she had a feeling that it was not much, but she knew that she would die to save this Xena. She had a strange feeling she already had.

Iolaus

Iolaus skidded to a stop, hearing the voice behind him. He was still completely occupied by the how Herc had handled that. Was he losing it? Using a thirty foot boulder as a throw toy?
Maybe crossing over to the underworld had done something to him. His thoughts stopped as he looked behind him.
"Hades, there he is, there you are."
He began running in the other direction, still aware that the huge dog was now at his side. Now it seemed like they had two problems to worry about.
"Hades, we just came in here to get Xena and we'll be on our way. We're sorry to disturb such a wonderous and..."
Herc cut him off, walking in front of him. Iolaus lamented, it was his brother after all.

Xena

"Gabrielle. " I said with hearfelt love.

I had no time for it though.

I stood before Hades.

"Hades...prepare to suffer torment."

It was ironic, seeing as we were in hell.

I used my arm to shield Gabby.

"Callisto. Get out of my way." I hissed.

I drew my chakrum.

"NOW." I said.

(ooc. sorry...will finish this tommorrow...sorry so short...bad weekend. Pooh...pm me or something. :p)
