"You won't get to her, whoever you are. I won't let you hurt her."

Whoever I am? What kind of game is Gabrielle playing? Has she really lost her memory or is this part of some plan? Before I can say anything to her, I hear...
"Callisto, get out of my way. NOW."

I'm thoroughly amused now. Turning my head to one side I laughingly answer, "What? And miss the opportunity to personally welcome you to hell?"

I do a warrior yell and flip over both Xena and Gabrielle, landing beside Hades.

Looking around, I see that Hercules and Iolaus are here too. "I'm sure all of your little friends won't mind me having a kick ass party in your honor, bitch. Oh, did I mention you would die during this party? Oh, that's right. You're already dead!"

I start laughing hysterically. I see the look on Gabrielle's face. My laughter quickly dies as I see thorough confusion there. It suddenly dawns on me that something's not right. I look at Hades wanting to make sure I haven't overstep my bounds.

Hades reads her mind effortlessly and says,
"Be my guest Dear. It's not as though there's any rules to bother with down here these days."

His long arm suddenly emerged from the black cloak he wore and made a sweeping gesture. Stepping back quickly he dragged Herc and Iolus with him.
Instantly a blue white sheet of icandescent flame shot from floor to ceiling and spreading faster than a heartbeat had completely encircled Callisto, Xena and Gabrielle within an open tube of fire.

"Fight on Ladies for the Fair Damsel, I weary of it all."
Turning to Herc, Hades blew on his still smoking finger,
"Thank Gods I still have that left."

Hercules

Iolaus ran up, Cerberus hot on his heels, but Hades called the giant dog to his side. Iolaus started to speak, "Hades, we just came in here to get Xena and we'll be on our way. We're sorry to
disturb such a wonderous and...," but Hercules saw the fury growing in Hades' eyes, and decided to step forward before his best friend was badly hurt.

"Hades, we came down here to ask you to help us right a wrong done by Ares. Despite Zeus' direct commands, he had Gabrielle killed, in order to get Xena down here." Hercules paused with a puzzled look on his face, "Get Gabi to fill in for Persephone? Have you run that plan by your wife yet? An angry Xena might be the least of your problems if Persephone and Demeter find out about that one!"

A look of realization dawns on the hero's face, "It wasn't Ares at all, was it, Hades? You had Gabrielle killed, so you would have someone with you full-time, instead of just half the year! Oh, Uncle Hades... why?"

 

[LAVA GODDESSS]

Xena

I looked around the room. How in Hades did Herc get here?

Iolaus?

Callisto? Hades?

Oh my.

I looked at Hades. "You have never been on my bad list...in fact, we have had a few.....hm....good times.." I grinned, seductively.

"I am sorry, but you will have to get through me. ANd that won't happen."

"Well no. I didn't have her killed at all.
It's just that seeing her down here reminded me of how damned lonely Hell can be."
The God of the underworld sat down and leaned against the rough wall of the cavern.
"I don't think this on again off again thing is working any more. I need a woman! I need a gentle touch, a warm caress..."
He looked right at Xena.
"I she'd just stop all that posturing and come over here and give me a hug, I'd be a happy Deity."

 

[Neale]

Hercules

"Somehow, uncle, I don't think either lady is in any mood to cuddle. If you didn't have a hand in what happened, Ares must have. He is usurping your authority as Lord of the Underworld, and flaunting his defiance of Zeus' orders that mortals are not to be directly harmed by the gods. Will you help us set things aright?"

Calisto

Knowing that Hercules or Iolaus wouldn't be able to interfere now, thanks to Hades, I turn back to Xena.

"Where were we? Oh, yes. I always knew I'd see you in hell, Xena."

I pull my sword out of the holder.

"I'd like to give you a personal welcome."

Before Gabrielle can get in the way, I swing at Xena with a scream, my only thoughts are to make her pay for taking my family from me.
