The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

We're here. Travelled 3000km east to west in four days.

Hardest thing is the dog's brain and stomach is three hours out.
Hope you're well away from the bushfires. It's not hard for me to figure out how far west you've gone, even if I don't know how far, north or south.

We only got about half of the snow they forecast but now they're doubling the amount of snow we're expected to get tomorrow before the deep freeze hits. It's going to get down to 4 degrees Saturday night and only 12 degrees for a high on Sunday. Brrrr! At least my blood pressure has trended back to normal but my achy body isn't appreciating it.

I've got a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. Note to @MillieDynamite - I love Earl Gray and I keep my pussy trimmed, not bald. There are donuts and cookies on the counter and there are more presents under the tree. Whoever put the present for @Rustyoznail under the tree didn't disguise the shape of the dog bone they got for his buddy.

I'll be over in the corner working on my new story. I think the funnest part of writing is the research I do to make sure I don't put any anachronisms in my stories. I love searching for old picture postcards on eBay to confirm a location existed at the time I'm writing about.

That's an interesting research angle. Never thought of that.

With that approach, I can now prove the existence of aliens in Roswell--or jackalopes about anywhere in the west.

Just got home from work. I think I'll pass on coffee, maybe some booze before bed. Thus begins my weekends. Does anyone else work the midnight shift?

Our weather is staying unreasonably cold well into next week, but then finally gets back to more seasonal for us. Of course, next weekend we head to Carolina, where it's 60's (and maybe 70's) will seem danged hot after this.

I finished a chapter in my draft for my pink orchid novel. Six more to go. Hopefully finish that before I leave for five days in the south. Hopefully to write a new year's eve party story as a sequel to my original series. Then revising novels and writing for Valentines Day. Oh and getting my knee surgery in there in 17 days.

I wrote 300 entire words this morning.
I want to try for more but I can feel myself getting tired already. Going to (slowly) figure out lunch, take my noon meds, and probably go take a nap. Or at least give myself a break from sitting upright.

It feels like it might be a long time before I recover from this. My doctor said I should expect a week of recovery for every day spent in bed. And unfortunately that's going to include the 2-3 days I spent in bed recovering from surgery BEFORE I got sick, the day my fever spiked, and the two days I spent in the hospital, for a total of six weeks. Ugh.
